- I'm Jeficus and I cover Warhammer Video Game News and share my Impressions or Reviews of different Warhammer Games throughout Warhammer 40,000, Warhammer Fantasy, and Warhammer Age of Sigmar.

In this video I talk about some of the best Warhammer 40k Games to play right now. Among these are Dawn of War, Space Marine, and Darktide. My taste in games demands a more immersive and reactive experience so I tend to stay away from turn based games, which the 40k scene is chalk full of.

I’ve made a terrible mistake. I forgot about Rogue Trader. 🤦♂️
We all make mistakes, so it's totally cool. But you're lucky a commisar wasn't anywhere in this comments section.
Still waiting on the PS5 release of Darktide
Also the Grey Knight Xcom game (don't remember the name off hand) is pretty good. Story is mid, but still a good turn based strategy game. Assuming your into those type of games.
You mean Chaos Gate: Demonhunters? It's dope.
I'm waiting as well brother, perhaps with devine intervention of the god-emperor we'll recover the stc for the ps5 version.
Just got it on Xbox. Sorry you guys don’t have it yet 😕. They should just get rid of exclusives
Cant believe they never did a dawn of war 3 once had a fever dream that they did and it kinda sucked before waking up to reality
Chaos Gate Daemonhunters absolutely deserves to be on this list too. A suprsingly excellent story too.
I’ll have to pick it up when it’s on sale!
Honorable mention for Inquisitor Martyr. A rough and rocky game that's become a solid experience over time. Plays with a lot of unique ideas for the arpg diablo-esque genre.
Shootas, Blood and Teef also absolutely should be seen. Amazing metal slug-esque game but with Orks and one of the most absurd stories I loved.
Gladius was a lot of fun. It’s like Civilization but without the diplomacy.
I guess but honestly I don't think I can ever find games like gladius interesting ever again since endless legend exists since that's just civilization but better in every way (especially combat the system for combat in endless legends is a fantastic improvement in my opinion)
@@Wormy_fren I’ll have to check that game out
Hey! I think another game that deserves mentioning is Chaos Gate: Demonhunters. It's very simmilar too the gameplay of Mechanicus but you play as Grey Knights.
love this game its really fun and the dlc worked well with it
Battlesector.
Want to play the tabletop game but don't have enough money or time? Play Battlesector, the closest thing to the tabletop but on pc or consoles.
Hi there Jeficus, great video! I'm new to Warhammer 40K, and I just grabbed space marine on the steam summer sale and basically haven't played much else except that since. For the emperor!
Rogue Trader is still good.
Warhammer 40k Dawn Of War winter assault was how I learned about the tabletops and the fan base. I remember going to a cyber cafe as a high school student and playing the game just so I can watch the sync kills. Then I bought Dawn of War Dark Crusade on my dad's laptop. At that time I had to decrease the graphics because it was a working laptop and not a gaming laptop.
Dawn of war was also my way into the 40k and started my deep love for the Emperor
#1: the 40k mod for Men of War Assault Squad.
I loved the Gothic Fleet series since the imperial navy needed more love. Yea naval space covat is more niche, but the storywriting, abilities, unit selection, and progression system was pretty fun. Armada 2 also let you play as the tyranids which was so much fun. It was wild watching all the other factions begrudgingly team up against you as you scourge the galaxy.
there was space hulk death wing and the rts style gladius as well as space hulk tactics
love the content!!!!!!
if last stand was a stand alone game with consistant updates
Another game I adore is battlesector, it’s turn based and has a (very limited) campaign similar to DoW, that they’re supposedly reworking and updating. Only issue is dlc prices as always
I have an idea someone should make a tempestus scion or Kasrkin game that is a mix between dead space, halo 3 odst and little bit of darktide or Helldivers 2 also a eldar Sekiro game. What are your thoughts.
I really like darktide, but its a very on and off game for me.
Like it will hold my uninterrupted attentiom for ~2 weeks then the little things that are... not so good (itemization and crafting) get to me and I stop playing for 2~5months or untill they release new stuff.
I feel like Necromunda hired fun deserved a mention because it was genuinely fun. A faced paced first person shooter where you are a bounty hunter who ran along alls shooting up gangs and sending your dog to maul them. The story is nothing special and is definitely confusing at times but honestly you don’t need to listen to the story to have fun. I do wish the bosses did have a health bar though because it can get frustrating not knowing how many more shots the boss can take.
But otherwise, yeah the game is extremely fun
Men of war assault squad 2 has an amazing mod for Warhammer. It is to me almost as good as dawn of war. It is insane and you should look at it. I have a very badass clip from me playing it. It is short is there anyway I can send it to you?
"Eternal Crusade" this game is hands down the best PVP lobby shooter I played for 40k. I played Space Marine for 2 years and it was fun but EC gave us lots of weapons and shaked up melee combat to be more than hit attack button and jump away then hit attack button again (cough SM PVP). Don't get me wrong Space Marine was fun and I love the PVE. I doubt anyone even remembers this obscure title due to its rocky development and less than stellar release. I am not a fan of live service games after they discontinued this one. I miss it every single time I think about it. 😢
I never got into Eternal Crusade but I was really looking forward to it while it was getting developed. A successful Warhammer (40k or otherwise) MMO is something I would completely lose my life to.
what about Inquisitor, chaos gate, gladius, battlesector, the battlefleet gothic series, and many other games. i think your forgetting a lot of decent/good games that may not be in the genre that you like but that doesnt mean they are bad or "clones with a 40k logo". if you look a bit deeper i think you will find a few extra games that are good. and games dont need to mainstream to be good or a sucsess
You’re absolutely right, those are all great games! I just don’t think they’re the best of the best.
Chaos Gate Daemonhunters has a great story and good DLC. I really believe space marine 2 is gonna take off and get some of the player base from Helldivers
I hope the best for Helldivers, but I wouldn’t mind if Space Marine 2 was so good that it siphoned some of those players up.
I still play Dawn of War Dark Crusade. Just loved it. Its amazing.
The unification mod for DoW is an absolute masterpiece, here's hoping the tww40k rumours are true
Imo one of the biggest problems is turn based, I get that table top is turn based (because it cant be any other way) video games offer the opportunity to do something different and that is not exploited enough
Absolutely agree!
Inquisitor Martyr, I feel, is being looked back at a *bit* more fondly than it did upon its initial reception. It felt lacking at first but has since added a lot and is *still* getting updates and even a new player class added to it. People mistake it for a Diablo clone but it has cover mechanics, dodging, reloads, aiming mechanics, etc that set it apart rather significantly. The only true issue it has, in these regards, is that the weapon balancing isn't great and the weapon/builds that let you *ignore* these special features (and thus play the game much like a Diablo clone) are the most overpowered builds.
deathwing as well is great
Dawn of war also has some of the sickest mods you can find in an rts
Where is deathwing
The original chaos gate (not the more recent attempts at remakes) is still in my opinion the best game in the Warhammer 40k franchise. It has brutally tough combat, a great story, a really deep and involved tactical system, a soundtrack that is so awesome it's commonly blatantly cribbed from for both fan and official works in the setting, and oh yes, it even had ultramarines without blatant plot armor before Space marine ever came out.
I played Relic Entertainment games (DOW, COH) prob for half of my life
Try dawn of war 2 retribution with the elite mod
multiplayer is fun !
I think you forgot gladius in oms. Realy great game if the engine works.
RTS/FPS hybrids r the new hotness check out ( mount & blade BL ) or ( silica ) or ( outpost infinity siege ) its more fun to be on ground floor with your troops :).,,.
I like the content but I'm watching it on my PC wide screen. The low res cinematic parts are just painful to watch.
You need to do some AI upscaling.
Noted!
Dawn of war Ii is amazing imo
Bfga2 and total war warhammer
Both to me are excellent games
I’m still mad Shootas blood and teef wasn’t on this list 😤
Shootas is definitely a great time! My favorite bit was Lord Horrik. 🤣
I wish that Deathwing had actually been a decent game instead of an achingly beautiful flop
Same goes for Necromunda Hired Gun to some extent
Is Total War not a good start for a newbie in the Warhammer 40k franchise?
Total War is a good start for someone to enter Warhammer in general, but a lot of people hold 40k separate from Warhammer Fantasy / The Old World. There actually isn't a lot of overlap between people who are fans of both Warhammer Fantasy and Warhammer 40k.
dark tide:( i got to max lvl on all classes in like a week & i uninstalled it .. thy need to work on player retention over micro brain cash shop stuff
i think gladius is a good game :D
DARKTIDE
Relic died long time ago
Meep.
