Some things I wished it did better:
    1. better secret locations, too many times secrets are in boring places like in a crate facing the wall or on a random ledge. The levels are so big and detailed there's lots of interesting places to hide some goodies. Too often I tried to explore and get to ledges I thought might have something interesting, and it was just a empty spot, or was blocked by an invisible wall.
    2. A MAP! A few of the levels are bit of a pain to navigate, especially the ones where you have to backtrack and you can't remember exactly where that locked door you need to go back to is. Automaps are a pretty big thing in games like these, and even small, fully 3D games like Prodeus had great maps.
    3. Better item placement/balance. This isn't a huge issue, but some maps were basically littered with so many grenades that it was literally impossible for me to use them all, and then others barely had any at all. It was just weird, especially since you could only carry 2 of each type.
    4. More unique items and traversal mechanics. For example there is a jumpjet (Well, really it's just disguised jump pads) but only a few maps use it. What they should have done is make it an actual ability you can use anywhere, especially in the big battles. Sure you'd probably have to limit their use in some levels so players can't just bypass everything, but then again, if they planned it from the start, the levels could have been built around it.

I'm kind of in love with this game. The feel is amazing where every action has a weightiness to it. It perfectly replicates that Doom run and gun action, with some puzzle elements, but with an added modern sleekness.
The environments are really faithful to the 40k aesthetic and the art style gives them so much more personality. I don't know if its the level design/graphics, or a mix of both, but they feel like I'm scaled sown exploring a really well made board. I really like the subdued but strong colours that can create a bleak look without feeling washed out too. The enemies also look great with this style, and its easy to see the devs have a true love for the 40k universe as things like having "contempt" power ups, reading scripture when idling, and having a servo-skull as a guide are great little touches. The taunt button is not needed at all but now I have it I don't want it to ever be taken away.
The music is perfect and mirrors the 40k mechanicus tactics game with a mix of dark atmospheric synth music that progresses into more poignant synths with Gothic tones added on top.
The only thing I want from this game now is more. It has me thinking about all the settings that could be used (surviving in catachan jungles, fighting dark mechanicus on mars...), and all their associated inhabitants and fauna. Not to mention all the different space marine factions that could be controlled and how they could have lore specific differences in how they play and their loadouts. Maybe even branch out to factions like the Sororitas (a level in a battlefield where churches are being dropped from the sky would be insane). I want all this to stay within how they designed this game though, and even if they bring a bit more customisation, as long as it remains true to what it went for with this game I think the potential of this series could be nearly unlimited.
I really hope this game does well, it plays great and it has really immersed me in the 40k universe in a unique way, and I'm here for more of that

The years of playing crazy DOOM mods gave me the strength to beat this game on max difficulty in about 11 hours across 2 days. I've never sat down and been so hooked on a game before. I'll usually play games at most 2hrs a day. But god damn I felt so happy getting to play a great 40k game while reliving the joy of my first video game ever, DOOM.
Great video too as always m8. Haven't had a channel till last year but I've been watching your stuff for years :)

This project probably started as a meme, yet it's probably going to become one of the most popular and beloved pieces of 40k media that exists.
Also, the art style and just in general the way the game looks, is fucking incredible!

Gman and ACG, the only two reviewers I COMPLETELY trust

You missed Gameranx which is superior to both, but for boomer shooters Gman is the guy for sure

I definitely recommend playing it on hard and above first play through, feels like it gives the game a good challenge and really makes you plan through those arena sections

It really made me mad that they didn't include a map. Especially in the later levels. Also the level design in some levels is quite confusing - I was looking propably half an hour for the next waypoint in this tower-factory-lift-area which moves up.

12:25 The Strength indicators on weapons are a reference to the 1990s era tabletop stats, which matched a weapon's strength against an enemies toughness on a dice roll table to see how easy it was for a weapon to wound a particular enemy. In the 90s, Boltguns were STR4, Shotguns were STR3, etc
    Basically, don't worry about it

Wish I could get into boomer shooters. Either the old style like this or the newer high paced ones like Hired Gun or the Doom remakes. But even though I grew up in the original Era. I was always and RTS guy and when I did play shooters they were tactical ones.
Excited 40k has another good game though

Your idea on an index type thing for the game is really good. It would serve as a way to introduce people who may otherwise be uninterested in the lore

No. They have to look it up like everyone else. No easy lore dumps.
