Goodbye Wicked Twister, What Will Come Next To Cedar Point?

- Опубликовано: 6 авг 2021
- Cedar Point has been rumoring a new roller coaster for a while after Steel Vengeance opened in 2018. Sadly we will be losing a roller coaster first before we get a new one. Wicked Twister will be officially closing on September 6, 2021. And yes this Intamin launch coaster has been rumored to close for quite some time now. It's just now that it's happening we can't believe it. Especially when we're still waiting for their next coaster announcement. Until that happens we must take our final rides on Twister before it takes its final launch.

I think the clue in the book was turning the page on MaxAir. It hasn’t been operating all season.
I noticed this as well
the book also showed mantis too.
BUT, it just got new restraints it got vest restraints lately so idk man
@@Umesport0409 Could Be Relocated To Another Park.
See, I think even though its unlikely that it should be purchased by Herhseypark and painted red. Then put in chocolate town and be called twisted/wicked twizzler! It would fit the area well and even looks like a twizzler!
Wait, did you comment this before?
@@rmc_fan I believe so. Back when possessed was first rumored to close
@@nesmanmain0001 Well its a good idea so I don’t blame you
@@rmc_fan thank you!
I think it’s one of the most underrated coasters at Cedar Point, I’ll be sad to see it go but I hope something better will be there
Lol the world's largest Ultra Twister. C'mon Cedar Point, you got this
🤣🤣🤣
Few will miss it, apparently.
After attracting over a million riders in four of its first five years, it's only attracted around 600,000 riders the past few years.
Awwww. Wicked twister is going. I wish I went on it but I'm all the way in England. Damn I wish I went there
Don’t worry it’s nothing to write home about
Im in Scotland anyways, the country with the most shit coasters ever
I've prepared for this leaving for a while
Glad I rode this once when I went there this summer
If it gets relocated you can ride it with a new identity maybe even get the new design that Legendary Twin Dragon at Chongqing Sunac Land
Super mooie leuke video prachtig
R I P WIC twister dangling coaster
I hope Cedar fair relocates it
meh
A park like Michigan's adventure would probably be quite happy about it.
I don't see them sending it to another cedar fair park, but I could see them sending it to another park.
@@phantafan7965 can't do that. The height restriction is at 200 ft...but I would love it could go there! I'm only 20 min away.
The boardwalk section seems realistic 😄 I think it'd be a chill area too. If they were to go for a more thrilling coaster, an S&S 4D Freespin would surely fit the area
Cedar point is done dealing with RMC, after the disaster of steel vengeance. The flats are being relocated in the park and max air will get taken out which will leave a lot of space, at least a decent amount of space. I’ll be shocked if a GCI or possibly a gerstlauer doesn’t go in the space.
Wdym by disaster?
I love Wicked Twister -- it's basically the Biggest Swingset Ever.
Sad wind seaker noises
@@PolarisGD04 Sad SkyHawk noise
Thank god I went on it when I did
It's an f-ing awesome ride
Come to Dorney Park. Exact same ride but called Possession.
They can move some things in the area not get rid of.
The beach board walk entrance that they've been talking about ......
I think they should relocate it somewhere in the same park. Frontier town. It could fit really well there if they carry it out right, and if they keep the coaster and make another, they would take back their spot as roller coaster capital of the world (one park has more roller coasters than them now.)
The problem is the operating cost. Intimin Impulses are notorious for their high maintenance costs. It seems that running the coaster has become unprofitable, given its unpopularity. Keeping the coaster, with the added cost of moving it, would be a terrible business decision for the park. I think they'll likely add two new rides in the next couple years. I hoping it'll be a GCI inverting coaster and a Gerstlauer family spinner. This would fill two gaps in their lineup, as well as helping them reclaim their title.
@@BoomerangVillage that’d be cool, I’m just trying to find ways where they could still have the most roller coasters in the world.
You didn't miss much. Tiki Twirl and Giant Wheel have been moved before and can be moved again.
What most people dont noticed n the video is that the ferris wheel is also highlighted they might get rid of both for a bigger ride
They are going to put stand up trains on Wickes twister xD
It's a pavilion, and new family spinning Wild mouse.
It's one of the best rides in the park.
They should build a 500ft drop tower…
Already have 4 drops...
If you listen to the June Cedar Fair earnings call...the 2022 budget is MASSIVE...they also stated they were not starting construction until Q4 to save costs...so one of those parks is getting something big??? I do think CP will replace a former record breaking coaster with some sort of large coaster or high thrill flat. After that the focus will be families again.
What do you mean a former record breaking coaster? Wicked Twister IS the only coaster at Cedar Point to keep its record. But if you are referring to TTD getting replaced, I would be down with that!
i would like a Mack Powersplash in that area
I really hope it’s a rmc raptor. I’ve alwase wanted to ride one and I hope that’s what they do
She also had maxair on the page??? Maxair removal too later for a bigger coaster?
I was looking to the plot of land, and I thought: What if Wicked Twister will get replaced by an S&S launched coaster, like GaleForce at Playland's Castaway Cove? It's a compact layout, with some twists, inversions, but they won't have to remove that much around the plot of wicked twister. I can see this coming to cedar point
Intamin skyrocket model!
Cedar Fair should get this to Gilroy Gardens
I think there is more than enough land over by Wicked Twister. The extreme sports stadium doesn’t exist anymore, Tiki Twirl and Big Wheel can be moved. The only question mark is Max Air, but if the ride works I doubt they will remove it. It’s popular enough to stick around.
Maxair blew its motor in early testing, they got a new one and it broke as well
It's gonna be a new coaster. CP is always competing with Magic Mountain. CP isn't gonna remove a coaster without having a replacement in the works. And they still have to add a few more to steal the crown back from Six Flags.
Also, isn't MaxAir getting removed? If that's the case they should relocate the Giant Wheel, the remaining flat rides that work & the kids area. Then they would have a massive plot of land to work with for a coaster. My guess; either a Vekoma Multi-looper or a Gerstlauer Infinity coaster. My reasoning; they need more modern roller coasters with a lower (48") height requirement. Especially since most of the Arrow coasters are going to reach the end of their service life VERY soon.
Something like the Six Flags New England The Joker could fit there
I think the wicked twister is one of the best rides at cedar point
Since the coaster is closing next year, it's your last chance. I hope you make it.
I think they’ll put a boomerang coaster
300 ft dueling impulse coaster
It makes sense. It's coming up on 20 years old, so Intamin probably stopped supporting the model for replacement parts (like with Superman) and the park doesn't want to pay someone else to manufacture them.
Intamin just opened a brand new rollercoaster in China that is an impulse rollercoaster
It's not so much Intimin not selling the parts, it's more like Cedar Fair not wanting to buy them from Intimin anymore. They'll probably canibalize this coaster to supply parts to the other two Cedar Fair impulses that are on their last legs.
@@BoomerangVillage thats valid tbh
They should replace wicked twister with a 1st generation drop tower just like demon drop at Dorney Park
yeah, demon drop was better when it was at Cedar Point anyway
I didn't ride it when I went :(
They should add ripcord
We're getting an Infinity Coaster, that's been the big tease since Spring.
Didn't you hear the gerstlauer is going to glenwood caverns.
@@GreatAmericanCoaster its great for me since im from the uk, actually I shouldn't sa it bc i might jinx myslef
@@GreatAmericanCoaster Nooooooooooooooooooo
Damn, it looks like the flash/V2 is gonna be the only one left?
and the one at great america and valleyfair
I don’t see them completely scrapping the ride ethier!
No. Not completely. But they might part it out to Dorney and Valley Fair to keep their impulses running.
There not gonna announce flat ride removals! I do think we will see the demise of a lot of rides this year! I can see Giant Wheel, Trokia, Tiki Twirl Kiddie Kingdom and MaxAir! All those flat rides will ethier get relocated else where in the park or moved to a different park! MaxAir hasn’t operated all season!
Gerstlauer Infinity Coaster.
Mantis is a B&M which could be a hint for another B&M? Flier?
Placing my bets on a new stage to replace the one by Iron Dragon
If there's one roller coaster they must keep, it MUST be Iron Dragon.
@@hueylongadmirer1829 why theres like 15 better rides in the park
@@jakethecake6952 woooosh
Didnt Cedar Fair purchase landnear CedarPoint back in 2019/2020 and then purchase the water park cant think of the name of the park but it's the one with the crazy ass water slide coaster that killed a child.
Cp is not gonna do a boardwalk section that would make no sense
Why say you? It seems like a boardwalk would be an easy way to grab a bit more real estate for rides. Makes sense to me.
@@BoomerangVillage but cedar point is about the coasters, ppl come specifically for the coasters, its not a regional park its a destination
@@MillenniumForceMan You know they can put coasters on the boardwalk, right?
@@BoomerangVillage not big coasters
@@MillenniumForceMan They don't just make big coasters. They shouldn't just make big coasters. Their lineup is already top-heavy. They need some family coaster options.
Not to mention, small coasters can be great. Most of the options fans are asking for (Gerstlauer infinity, RMC Raptor) fit on a small plot. A boardwalk would give them space to expand their coaster count. If you haven't noticed, they're pretty short on space, seeing as the park is water-locked.
Cedar Point doesn't really "need" another coaster right now. Update that entire area for family's with new family rides and theming. I think WT getting removed is all about cost savings and tightening the belt on spending than rushing to build a huge coaster.
Why would they take out a coaster. There up there for one of the most coasters in a park and I don’t see why they would take one away to not put a new one in
@@co-benco cost and service life. Cedar Fair as a whole didn't do all that well with profits. Cedar fair is removing under performing and maintenance problem coasters. Don't get your hopes up for a crazy world record breaking coaster.
@@chadmorris946 that's just not like cedar point
@@jonathonedwardmiller they don't have an unlimited budget. They removed wild cat and never replaced it. WT was a maintenance nightmare and was a huge energy hog. Just keep your expectations low.
@@chadmorris946 but that was a wildcat and not a big ride
they are removing maxair and the ferris wheel
I hope they do that, then they could fit in something big
@@bman2217 this screams major coaster. I'd guess they add something for 2023, 2027 and 2030. This kind of hype is what Cedar Point is just known for.
Heard they were planning on a multi-level bar/restaurant
ha, better drive back to cp
nah
@@GreatAmericanCoaster y
@@GreatAmericanCoaster it can be underrated sometimes! I’ve seen a ton of enthusiasts say they really Like it!
I hate wicked twister so honestly good
Your just like me
i giant drop/view tower
Couldn't they just build most of the coaster over water?
Massive liability to prevent trespassing and to have easy access. They would be better off building a pier.
500ft coaster will never happen at CP! The cost would be astronomical and would be down more then Dragster!
I wouldn’t say that. It might not happen this year, but if it’s happening at any time in history, it’s happening at cedar point!
@@waddles6139 The wind would be a HUGE issue for a 500ft coaster at CP! Any type of wind with Dragster and they close it!
ughhh
i never rode that at cedarpoint but ive been there
