I mean not even all the characters were actually even from song of the south. Chanticleer and the fox was an unmade Disney film with Marc Davis character design, a lot of the conceptualised characters for that film ended up in America sings which then ended up in splash mountain when that was removed. Really and truly, apart from the plot and the 3 main characters, this ride has nothing to do with song of the south, it’s more a celebration of Marc Davis’s classic characters. Disney are too busy circle jerking to realise they’re actually not combating anything, what they are doing is turning people against eachother which is the total opposite of what they said this retheme was for.

Splash Mountain was my favorite ride ever😢

I'm pretty sure, the price tag is closer to 200 mio or more, simply because the air time hill and the uphill launch are much higher and more complex than Intimidator. I would even go for 250-300 mio. But on the other hand, Disney spend similar amounts multiple times for attractions, afaik. I just don't see, how this investment will ever return its investment, it will be a statement most likely and close because of maintenance problems some day. I guess, your five to ten years predection is quite plausible to me. We'll see.

I would buy a ticket with the stipulation that I get to go through it 5 times. Also they should put mag launch rails on the drop and really crank up the g forces at the bottom. Maybe could make it smaller too.

I used to hold the world record for most times going on intimidator 305 in a day it wasn’t official, but I went on at 28 times and then some stupid person with a lot of money. Had to rent out the entire ride with a bunch of equipment and beat my record. The day I decided to do it there was like no one at the ride and the next day when I woke up, I had a giant bruise on both of my legs, and I could barely walk. It was worth it. But I will not do it again.
