Wicked Twister's Last Launch

- During the evening of September 6, Wicked Twister took its last launch. The video shown is the last launch for the public, the ride operators took their last launch after the park had cleared out.
What do you think will replace Wicked Twister?
I'm the guy that yelled all aboard. I'm going to miss doing that between launches every day. Wicked Twister honestly didn't deserve to close and I wish I was still working on it.
I never rode this ride or any at cedar point I haven t even been there either

It did deserve to close. It was a maintenance nightmare for Cedar Point and had very low ridership. They were not making a profit off of it.

I was fortunate to work there during the 2021 season. I had a few firsts/lasts. Amazing summer.
I was there on the last day of operation. Since the ride was near the entrance, It was the thirst rollercoaster I rode at the park. We had the fast past, so we were able to get in the fast pass line. And at the end of the fast pass line, the fast pass drops you off in the regular line about a 3rd of the way. While waiting with my dad, 2 boys also got in the line (btw, there was barely anyone in the fast pass line). And since the line for the regular wicked twister was full, we would have to wait 10-20 minutes to ride it. They decided that the line was to long, and they left the line. I forgot that this was the last day of wicked twister, so I didn’t tell them. And I also forgot to attend the last launch. But back to the 2 boys. I’m not sure if they even rode the ride, and if they didn’t, I could have told them that it was the last operating day of wicked twister. I’m not sure if they would have cared, but the guilt inside me for forgetting to tell them hasn’t gone away.
But, Wicked twister was a great ride, especially the spikes on both ends, which made it very unique. And many people will miss the ride greatly, especially me.

I also loved it. I’m really sad it’s gone. 😢. I’ve cried a lot since it was torn down. I really miss this ride.
I was blessed along sides with a lot of people to ride Wicked Twister before it was closing down in Summer during the 150th Anniversary celebration actually mega awesome!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :d Such a shame it has to close down as it's such an awesome ride. :( :( :( :( :( :(

Heartbroken that Cedar Point abandoned the Wicked Twister
R.I.P to 3 coasters I've ridden. Wicked Twister (2002-2021), Canobie Corkscrew (1975-2021), & Goliath at Six Flags New England (2001-2021). We all knew Goliath at New England and Wicked Twister were leaving soon but the closure of Canobie Corkscrew was so abrupt kinda like Blackpool's wooden wild mouse in 2017

I’ve never rode wicked twister before and now it’s Impossible to ride it
Never got to ride it. We went up for opening weekend 2018 and it wasn't running.

So sad, but hopefully I’ll be able to ride it again somewhere.
Yeah hopefully they relocate it. I dont know why they would just scrap it.
It will not be relocated. The park said they are retiring it, this means it will be scrapped.
Anytime the park is going to move something they announce it. WT has simply reached the end of its service life, its quite impressive that this style of coaster made it almost 20 years

That ride didn't last long at all, honestly I didn't care much for it, I'm sure they decided to take it out due to the number of riders and the downtimes as well for room for the new coaster going in. Real estate there is scarce and something had to go...just like many more will in the future to make room for bigger and better rides, wonder when the next giga coaster will go in?
It was an excellent coaster. It still is one of the best uses of LIM technology.
It used too much power according to the bean counters that now own Cedar Fair.
