I just replaced all my coil packs with new denso's, put in the new recommended spark plugs that he suggested, denso's 5341 for me gapped at .026 like yours, bled my intercooler, got my hp tuners mpvi2, paid him up on paypal, signed his waiver, told him everything that's done to my car, only have a drop in k&n air filter and muffler delete. Just waiting on the laptop I ordered to come. I have a desktop computer but I can't do anything with that as far as collecting data on drives haha. So soon as my laptop comes, I'm in business. After I saw this video a while back, figured this was the best route to go. Thank you for the video and going into great detail about everything. Figuring this will make a more fun daily driver. Thumbs up brother! Jesus loves you.
Great yes getting the car ready and prep for the tune , you’ll love it I know I enjoy it everyday .
That is an impressive difference! Way more boost, dramatically quicker. I'm sold!
Damn that Trifecta tune was showing loads of KR. I saw points in your review where it was pulling as much as 6degrees from knock. That's dangerous as hell and would be a red flag about Trifecta.
I have a updated video coming out , trifecta contacted me and updated the tune
The factory tune gets a lot of KR as well, even during normal driving. Check out the chart on each run he shows, pay attention to the KR display in numeric form in red, then look at the red heart beat (so to speak) to the right of it on that line and keep carrying over and you will see numbers in green white and red, red is the KR chart value, those numbers are indicating how much KR it's getting depending on how high up that red line goes in the chart... That's the KR during real time as the engine is running. He was actually getting more than 6 degree KR on the 1st trifecta run go to ( 24:21 ) and look more to the right on the chart, where the red heart beat goes up again, it hits 7.5 degrees and if you look directly above that to the accel throttle in yellow, he is only giving it about 30% throttle there. He hits 9 degrees on the 2nd Schmidt run ( 25:30 ) look for it. I'm not to sure why his car is getting so much KR, my Schmidt tune if I ever see any KR it looks like the first run he shows of the Schmidt run ( 25:09 ) I'll get a couple real quick jumps from 1 degrees and quickly back to 0 to the most 2.5 degrees and quickly back to 0. Also I'm not sure if your manifold air temp sensor is bad but it's reading 513F in each run clip you show, which is crazy high, any idea why PRviewsvlogs? Mine reads anywhere from 120F to 140F.
@@dusting81 the manifold temp Swindon was replaced cause when started tuning we saw that as well , but then found another read out that showed the correct temp .
@@PRviewsvlogs Ahh gotcha.. How many tunes did you guys go through? How many Ft. Lbs did you end up making?
I’m very picky with my car , we ended up at 18 tunes , in the video I ended at 14 but he sent me a more aggressive one later on which pretty much was hitting over 600 ftlb but that tune wanted only full throttle all the time , so we did a few more the one I have now shows about 545ft
Thats why he is the best! My ats v gets tuned by him soon. My cars going on an e30 blend with stock pumps and stuff. And ghost cam tune
I’ve talked to him about getting my Escalade tuned hopefully after winter
Love the video my man! I may be late to the party on this one but Your vsport is a ‘15 right?
Thank you and yes sir
PRviewsvlogs right on my man! I’ve been looking into getting one and trying to decide on the 15 or the 16. Doesn’t seem like there’s too much of a difference between the two years besides the instrument cluster on the premium versions seems to be different as well as some of the recall issues. I’ve been watching your channel for the past few months and JetFuelOnly as well. You guys are definitely making the 15 look slickkk!😬
The torque HPtuners displays is just a guess, it's main use is for torque limiting.
I've had trifecta tunes for 9 years on two different v sports. Each was tracked extensively, and not one issue. The first one had 32k before it was totaled and current one has 44k on it now all tuned miles. I don't have any experience with Schmidt.
It’s like going from McDonald’s burger to a prime steak 🥩
Being loyal to trifecta is only making you and your car suffer ❤
@@PRviewsvlogs I hope they gave you the tune for free in exchange for this shilling. Its seriously weird otherwise.
@@caddyv2327 LOL, I'm not loyal, I don't care enough to be loyal for something so basic. I have an actual fast car, not this slow daily driver I use to get groceries and go to the gym. I'm not wasting money or time trying to make a 4 door luxury car run 9s. I like my warranty and reliability for my daily. If I can get 70hp with no issues, cool. You say I could get more, I say I couldn't care less. I dump enough money in my actual fast car.
@@JOHNWAYNE1920
Youre talking about your (voided) warranty and tracking the car 😂 and if you ever have issues that vsports like to have trifecta will never help you out, they won't even respond😭😭 good luck 😭😭
Also, some of these 4 door Cadillacs will do 9s on the street for less than 5k, if your dumping all that money in something you can't even daily maybe you should have got an ats v instead of a fake race car 😂
Screen recording apps for Windows: Bandicam, SnagIt (basic functionality), Camtasia (full production abilities)
Thank you .
How much is the Schmitty tune? Also does it tune the Trans as well?
@Schmidty tuning
Such a shame the new CT5-V didn't come with the same 3.6 in the V-Sport.
Yea they nerfed that poor car it shouldn’t even have a V badge of any sort .
Agreed on the boost for the trifecta tune. My v sport hits 18-20 on the boost gauge always
Yes and I’ve seen 18 on my gauge more then once , I mention in the video the tunes where just loaded , and they take a few days of driving to set , and that you can get consistan boost from experience of 15-16 PSI , I can only go with what the data gives me and experience
Nice video - great information. Quick question , did you change swap the dash out for the premium display? Never seen a “slick roof” V-S with the digital dash 😉
Thank you , and yes I have a video on the swap
What's your 1/4 mile time and trap speed with your best tune?
Just noting on the comparison..steady 18 psi with Trifecta for mine for the past couple of years or so, never 20...(I think some people are just seeing this only for a second when they lift from wot and the wastegates haven't fully opened yet and are falsely claiming 20 bc of that on the standard 18psi 3fecta tune).
Now, when the IC needs bleeding, boost will fluctuate tremendously. The thing there is, even after bleeding it will not return to a steady 18 even after drivingfor a week. Pulling the negative battery cable for a few minutes is the only way I've found to get the car back to full 18 lbs, so I try to stay on top of the IC to prevent getting to that point again.
I have a video I haven’t edited yet where I ran the car with a updated trifecta tune they sent me and that gets to that 18psi but not consistent and I’m at 20-22psi on Justins tune . I’ll have that video out when I can get some time .
@@PRviewsvlogs
How do the shifts feel at 20 and above?
Justin can adjust of how the throttle responds , I have one that is very aggressive and if your not at WOT all the time the shifts are harsh that tune I would use if I was gonna take it to a drag strip , the one I have on the car now has smoother shifts .
@@PRviewsvlogs
Understood. I should've been more specific with my question.
Are the shifts still a firm, quick engagement/shift at WOT when pushing 22 lbs of boost?
Oh yea 100%
Best I can calculate from the video...
Trifect
video start : 8:47.73 to 8:54.03 - 6.3 seconds
video start : 10:41.00 to 10:47.35 - 6.35 seconds
Smitty
start : 15:40.97 to 15:46.87 - 5.9 seconds
start : 17:41.30 to 17:47.00 - 5.7 seconds
Which is really surprising I thought this car with a tune would have been hitting 5 seconds or less. My 303 HP stock Grand Prix GXP consistently would hit 5.8 before I modded it. Would have liked to see you do the video also BONE STOCK so we could compare truly what these tunes are doing 0-60
I didn’t do this cause the car wasn’t launched properly and the trifecta tune was just installed
Had traction control on on both for safety , so numbers would be lower on both
0-60 is all about traction and its a turbo car so it needs to be footbraked up to get the turbos going, need good tires, need a decent surface, lots of variables at play but I have plenty of Vsports that have done 0-60s in the 3.xx seconds range out there at this point
501 22.5😍
Yea man I was like 😬
Love the video!
I can't wait to tune my LF3 powered Z24! @V24_CAVALIER
Wait what ?? Lol LF3 cavalier
Oh Z24
Full awd drivetrain and suspension swap also! Come check it out on insta @V24_CAVALIER . I'd love another avid lf3/lf4 fan.
@@PRviewsvlogs yeah bro lol... his “V24” is gonna walk us cuz it’ll be so light haha ... pretty badass lol
Following now
You are comparing boost levels at different engine rpm which will affect the amount of boost available. I do appreciate the effort but not necessarily apples to apples from a boost/rpm perspective. Not saying this changes the outcome, but I would allow for more accurate info.
Comparing the tunes , and the feel of the car as a user experiment type of review , if I wanted actual fully accurate numbers I would have waited to the trifecta tune learns the drive pattern of the car which takes up to 3 days and took it to a dyno . This is just a experience review .
E85?
No , maybe in the future
No need for e85 in these no gains from it max is e50 I think w these
@@301turboscotty8 If that's the case the timing can be increased till the results are diminishing.
The data in this video is flawed. The “Trifecta” tune that was loaded was either not done properly, or there are issues with the car. A properly loaded traffic to turn will boost between 18 and 20 psi in all gears. While the “Schmidty“ tune does extract marginally more power, the Trifecta tune is significantly more powerful than what this video shows. The content in this video is misleading.
Well people need to listen Carefully when watching a video , as I mentioned in the video the trifecta tune was just loaded and takes a few drive cycles to fully set , as I’ve my self have hit 18psi a couple times , and constantly have hit 15-16 psi , with that said the new tune hits it more consistent and instantly, nothing against trifecta and also not much to loading the tune , now like I told you on FB group if there is a problem with a tune then they sent me a bad file , I’m not the only one who has complained about low boost ,now let the argument go . I’m glad you are boosting at 20 PSI I’ve never seen it till now with the new tune .
I had a properly loaded Trifecta. I was not hitting 18 and boost would drop quick. This lead to replacing my turbos and a ton of other work. Trifecta was a boost over stock, but it's not this game-changer that one would expect for a tune.
Same here I’ve only consistently hit 15-16 psi I’ve never seen 20psi once I’ve had the time in for over a year now I’ll definitely try n reload n see but your lucky if u consistently hit 18-20 trifecta themselves have told me expect 16 psi
my god, you are all over the place on the groups whining now you are on youtube? pretty obvious you must work for trifecta or something to be this obsessed, fact is nearly every single Vsport ive tuned has had trifecta and not a single one of them held 18-20 psi like you claimed.
"marginally" more power? Is that would you would call cars going from mid 12s to nearly 10 seconds in the 1/4 mile? A marginal difference? lol
@@alk3myst on avg the results from trifectas tune is barely any quicker than stock, sure you can cherry pick the best runs out there but I see runs all of the time that are high 12s and low 13s tuned with trifecta which is literally what they run stock.
In back to back testing on Kevins car via dragy, cherry picking the best run he ever did, he did 12.9 stock, 12.7 with trifecta and at the time 12.1 with schmidty tune, and eventually went 11.9 with a bit better traction
Dropping a few tenths and dropping an entire second off 1/4 mile are dramatically different, Ive got 0 against trifecta but these are just the real world results im seeing
I'm not going to the track wit mine, so I don't see the need to push my whip that hard. Guys if you want the most out of the Cadillac CTS spend the extra $25-$30k and get the Big V not the V-Sport. I think most of us with V-Sport's got them cus we simply couldn't afford the V. At least 🙋🏿♂️ did. But let us know how the car preforms long term. Thanks the info.
You are right , but I want a little more then just stock or what trifecta offers , there are a few that have Vsports abs building them to cars that can beat a V but , have a Vsport for gas savings , think about it a V would get you low 12 maybe single digest in mpg in the city not a vsport and it can be built to get up there in power beat of both worlds
@@PRviewsvlogs yeah it's the luxury, power, MPG, and price for me. I only had my V-Sport since Nov 2020. And just tuned it wit trifecta & added the zzp intakee wit my Stimmy last week(I'm not a baller🤷🏿♂️). Still waiting on my Corsa exhaust to show up. But you right about the Calibration period. 1st day or two I was feeling like I wasted my money. But I feel the car getting stronger and stronger. The power gains & shift points were more obvious in sport mode at 1st, but now I feel more power in tour mode as well. I'm happy with it for now.
Just do a muffler delete brother I have a video on that , I had magnalfow exhaust before
Spend double the money for 20% more power over a tuned V sport? Na, I'm good.
I can’t speak on Schmidty, but Trifecta’s tune work; especially on the V Sport, is top notch Grade A all the way. One thing I really like in particular is their dynamic knock control programs. Most tuners knock control is setup to start its timing map basically assuming “premium fuel” is being used and starts at its highest timing points until it detects knock an adjusts timing accordingly. This can be dangerous for a boosted & modified car because should you decide to use lower quality fuel you will actually get noticeable knock until the computer realizes the lower octane and then adjusts to a more conservative timing map. Trifecta tunes do NOT simply start off at their highest map and then adjust down according to fuel type; their dynamic timing adjustments take fuel quality into account from the get go and constantly adjust based on feedback from various sensors. One of the many reasons Trifecta is the #1 authority for GM performance tuning.
Trifecta still cannot perform at the peak of Justins tune , you know they also have a ton of KR look at the video and show how much they retard it .
lol well this is clearly a trifecta employees spam post a year + later here
.
i agree. Trifecta makes a great tune for the gms. I got the trifecta. i got a gm redline 2.0 turbo equinox and trifecta tune makes my equinox a monster im hitting almost 350 hp no issues. i and spin all 4 tires in awd drive crazy power plus other mods. I dont need no more power than that. just my opnion on how its working for me.
This is the biggest crap spew ever. All gm ECMs have 2 timing tables for "low" and "high" octane. The software automatically does it's timing based on a combination of the two and adjusts based on knock. All your statement says is Trifecta doesn't overwrite the low octane table with the high octane table, which yes dumb tuners do but is hardly worth trying to brag about.
@@schmidtytuningllc7744 Off the shelf versus a remote tune... nice, a real professional. Since I'm in the market for ATS -V Tune, let me ask what if any dynamic/enhanced knock control do you incorporate in your tunes? And for the record, I do not work in the tunning or automotive field, just a consumer wanting to make an informed choice.
blah,blah,blah
How’s that 2.0 doing ?
