No bits and no fizzy water, I'm on team Kyde
Nice video, waiting for part 6!, sorry about the food poisoning that sucks...
Amazing people and a beautiful country. Unfortunate that Eric had to deal with being sick.
I want to go to Myanmar now. It's so pretty and I'm amazed at how nice people are.
Another great video
Waiting for the next adventure
Thanks! -Eric
If y'all could
Y'all can add me In Facebook
Oscar mendoza
I was waiting to see more footages of Mandalay, but I guess you guys didn't spend that much time there, but I still enjoy watching your videos. Thanks so munch Eric and Kyde!!
Yea, we were really only there briefly. Our timetable was kind of short in Myanmar, unfortunately. -Eric
Quite interesting to see once again how genuinely kind people are in Myanmar. Another interesting thing is that by filming what you are eating, it serves as a defense mechanism in case of food poisoning. Good thinking ! And I'm glad to see Eric improved enough to ride the bike, but I think, from what I saw in Twitter, the worst is yet to come. Glad to see Eric turned out fine, like always.
Yea, the end of this trip was pretty tough. I haven't seen all the footage, but I think it's expressed pretty well in the videos, we will see! -Eric
It was quite interesting that you guys drive around with motorbikes in the Upper Burma, Burma has no winter or four seasons it had three season called Hot Season, Rainy Season and Cool Season just like any other South East Asian countries, By the way if you are real tired and exhausted try to avoid greasy foods, stomach ache or stomach cramp have a hot chicken soup with ginger and garlic with a little bit of ground pepper it will take care of it , even fever or flu
Hello Kyde..... The ladies in the market were saying "hello little sister" to you. And they also said that you were very beautiful.
This made us incredibly happy to have translated. Thank you so much! -Eric
***WARNING***OFF TOPIC - House of Cards is AMAZING! I'm sure by now you know there is a season 2 (and you have probably already finished it). Good news, House of Cards season 3 will be available in January 2015!!! If you haven't yet watched "Orange is the New Black" I recommend that as well.
PS - I've loved your journey through Myanmar thus far, great video's you guy/gal!
Thanks for posting again.. finally. Always a nice escape watching your adventures!
Don't know why a room tour is so important...but it is, damn it, it is.
hahahaha, I'll keep it in mind. -Eric
Great video as always, thanks Kyde and Eric !
You're welcome! -Eric
Glad this is now just a memory for u Eric !!!!
Another nice vid
We just got back from Myanmar! It was an amazing experience. Great videos you guys have posted. Watched some before I left!
Awesome, glad you had a good time. It really is an amazing place. -Eric
Thanks Kyde and Eric. Love your videos.
You're welcome. -Eric
It's not a Eric/Kyde travel video without Eric getting sick at some point. Eric, you should edit together a "sick travel compilation" haha. India, Burma, S. Korea, etc.
Can't wait to see the part 6. A lot of my friends following you guys now. :)
Awesome! Thanks for spreading the word! -Eric
looking forward to part six : )
AHhhh, I need to edit it! -Eric
Splash zone!! Hilarious. Kyde is brave, and didn't even need a tattoo to prove it. Even though the video is shorter than the rest, Kyde did a great job on her own when showing the sites. And even though you were sick, you still provided good entertainment with your dialogue. Quality always outweighs quantity.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed! -Eric
:( for Eric getting sick.. it is kind of refreshing to see the generosity and caring from the people in most of your Myanmar videos though.. You don't see much of that anymore.
Kendra Lou For real, it was shocking how kind they were. Easily the standout of the trip was experiencing the lovely people. -Eric
I love watching your videos, thanks so much for sharing your adventures! Can't wait for part 6! And hope Eric is feeling better
Thanks! It took a few weeks, but I'm fine now! -Eric
Hey E... Brett here from Colorado..I remember a while back you spoke of an Apollo space flight that you were into...Apollo 6 or something....let me know because I want to hook you up with some cool and unique memorabilia from this mission...just a gift because you all helped me out at a tough time...I've got crazy stuff from my grandfather that I'd like to share with you
Hah, yea, I used to really spend a lot of time reading about early era NASA stuff. Mercury, Gemini and Apollo program stuff mostly. I probably mentioned Apollo 8 as the flight I was really stoked about. I'd love to see what kind of stuff your grandfather gave you, shoot me an email at eric(at)kydeanderic(dot)com . -Eric
What's up with Burmese people tho.? They seem the most kindest and nicest people in the world. I knew a Burmese person years ago in the states and I still remember his exceptional kindness as well. Bless those people. : )
Jane Doe An absolute truth. Lovely people. -Eric
Nice videos keep it up
I have so enjoyed your videos from Myanmar. I am going there in late October of this year for 3 weeks and your information has been very valuable. Looking forward to the next video to see how the trip ends
Awesome, thanks! I think it will actually be two more videos! -Eric
Hey Kyde and Eric, those bird-like ships u saw in Maikhtila and the lake in Yangon are royal boats used by kings and royal family in the past. Dun think those you saw are real ones but there are probably high class restaurants in those boats. Just FYI.:)
Soe Wai Yan Linn Oh neat, pretty cool things to see! -Eric
oohh Eric and Kyde staying at the Looooooove motel hehehe, another great video guys thank you for posting. As usual another wonderful video
I just found your channel. Love it! I felt so bad for you in this video. Being sick in a foreign country is rough for all parties involved. My husband got sick in Honduras and I still remember how hard it was to get someone to understand. I shed a lot of tears trying to figure out how to explain the situation LOL
+Danielle Theriault Haha, yea, the first time I got sick in a foreign country Kyde had a pretty hard time. She's good at it now though, hahahaha. -E
The videos are always great, I just wish you weren't sick for some of the trip... but hey, it's all in the past now. Thanks for posting it.
Thanks, we still had fun, don't worry! -Eric
In Myanmar, tattoo is important for men. In my grandfather time, every men have to have tattoo. If they didn't have tattoo, the girls didn't married them. To has tattoo means they are brave enough to protect the girl that they love.
Ah, wow, very interesting! -Eric
Wow, I like that tradition!
(As long as the guy really was brave. These days, anyone can get a tattoo and it doesn't mean anything!)
So glad you are better. Are you sure you didn't get that from putting your hand in that gross water?
Or nibbling on that castor bean?
Haha, anything is possible! -Eric
When people started pointing out what that was I did some research and I think that's unlikely what made me sick due to the time frame between the encounter with the castor bean and the time I got sick. It's also apparently harder to get sick from them than people seem to believe. -Eric
Poor Eric!!! How long were you sick? Kyde did a great job taking over the task informing us about Myanmar totally on her own while you suffered from the food poisoning!! You both are GREAT!
I was REALLY sick for about 10 days, but didn't fully recover for about a month. It was rough, haha. -Eric
Hi Kyde and Eric I've watched your videos for a bit now (more like binged on them lol). I'm from Chicago but I was born in Mumbai. Just want say love you guys my 10 year old son absolutely adores you Eric!
HAha, thanks! Say hi to your son for me! -E
actually , those statues that u saw in Shwezigon pagoda, it's one of the display about saton is commanding those animals and demons to attack the buddha and the clam woman that u refer to is trying to seduce buddha
+Kaylani leya Oh neat, thanks! -E
I do find it quite impressive that you guys still try foreign cuisine despite getting ill every now and again. :)
Those Bananas cost how much? =)))
The world could learn a lesson from this ;D
Awesome country :)
Haha, sometimes we don't have any choice but to eat the food we come across. There isn't an abundance of McDonald's (or...any) in Myanmar. -Eric
hey, if you guys carried activated charcoal with you ... you could rid yourselves of the stomach yuck if you get it again! Love these videos thanks :)
Props to you Eric for making an attempt to get out while in that condition. I would have stayed in bed the whole time. Bagan looks very cool! , Especially at night.
Yea, it was tough to get out, I was doing half days, basically. Can't miss out though! -Eric
Hope you guys had a great adventure in Myanmar. Thanks a lot for sharing. I'll be waiting for your next adventure.
We loved it! Thanks! -Eric
Great to get the lowdown on Myanmar for possible future reference - the hotel prices are a real bummer though - that's gotta drop to maximum 10 dollars for me to show up - ahhhhh, stingy traveler, that's me.......sorry Myanmar.....looking forward to the next vid.......:-)
Yea, everything else is priced low though, so it's somewhat affordable to get around. If you put forth more effort you might be able to couch surf more than we did too. It's a really unique country, and it's changing fast so it was worth the extra cost to us. -Eric
Is this some alien world?! My brain is having hard time processing the decent honest kindness of Burma, any idea how this is possible? Where I live I'm lucky to go through a day without someone trying to rip me off. Burmese kindness should be in every education system, they're doing sth right.
Haha, yea, it was unreal. In my experience most countries with a buddhist background are really honest, they tend to be my favorite places coincidentally. Burma was especially amazing though. -E
Thanks for posting all your videos; I just found them. You lead interesting, fun lives!
Do you guys ever get homesick?
Yea we get homesick sometimes, I just spent a week in America visiting family and I really missed Japan. -Eric
Yeah, sensitive to..... food poisoning. Seriously glad you're okay Eric. Sorry you had to go through that.
I'm unlucky! -Eric
Gutted ! I have now seen all of your videos on your channel ! I need more hahaha
I started watching as im travelling Thailand in july so looked around youtube and im not arse kissing but your travel videos are some of the best around,i mean the way you film and edit make them great to watch.
hope you are both well and hello from good ol England
john
Thanks so much, it's crazy you've seen ALL of out videos! That must have taken a while to get though! Have fun in Thailand, we love it there! -Eric
I have always wondered how people manage those squat toilets when they are say, elderly, or pregnant or have some other physical limitations. Looks like it would be rather difficult.
Eric looks so ill and so thin here. I was worried. Looks like Kyde has the iron stomach.
Take care!
Yea, I have wondered the same about squatters. I think it's just something you adapt to somehow. I dunno. -Eric
lmfao @ 8:30
"And we're now out of the produce section and we're in kind of like "daily needs" section. Detergents, toothpastes, snacks, (random lady trips) trippin'..."
+ZKT XO Hahaha, she's funny. -eric
I have been watching your videos non-stop, you guys remind me of my friend and I and the way we travel! I have got to find a significant other who can keep up! Lol but do you guys have somewhere I can donate to your travels? Like a PO box or something? have an older GoPro with mounts and stuff I want to give you guys so you can just mount it anywhere as you move along! If you guys want it, it's all yours :)
J.London Hi! Wow, thanks so much for thinking of us regarding the GoPro. I'd love to accept it, but honestly it's not something I think we would use much. We travel pretty light and try not to have much more than what we carry now in regards to gear and chargers, etc. Seriously though, the thought is super appreciated. -Eric
Kyde and Eric You guys should really consider one! I'd load you up with snacks and fanart and all kinds of cool stuff
closetwarrior I'm not even sure how to get one in Japan, haha. -Eric
Only a half hour? VIDO IS TO SHORT THUMBS DON UNSUBING! (j/k) I am thoroughly amazed that someone at a seedy Burmese 4th-rate love-hotel kinda place cared that much about Eric's health and just how nice the people are, particularly in refusing money for help... When Eric was still sick and riding the bike and said "wish us luck" I was actually doing that and realizing "oh wait, this happened 4 months ago, he must be fine by now or this video wouldn't be up..." Awesome as always and I can't wait for more. :)
Hahaha, don't worry if I had died (and maybe I did?!) Kyde would put the videos up. -Eric
Did you ever go the Philippines cause If you did I haven't seen it. If you didn't, why? It's in the middle of southeast Asia and you have been to all countries around it.
We haven't made it there yet. No real reason, just hasn't come up. We haven't made it to Vietnam yet either. -Eric
Poor guy, hate to see you sick like that Eric. The people of Myanmar sound incredible!
They are amazing! -Eric
@ 8:54 Did you play your own footage backward to retrace your steps? ^_^
Hahahaha.
The bad ass buddha scene at 30 min is a depiction of the night before buddha attained enlightment... the devil was attacking buddha with his army and asking him to give up his attempt to become a religious leader... but the earth goddess appeared and unraveled the water in her hair to wash away all the bad ass.
Oh, wow, neat. -Eric
Maybe an idea for next time you need to go banana shopping in the wild... you had some bananas left in the room (from Eric's sickbed footage), so eat one and take the peel with you to show to people.
Good idea!
whats the intro song called?
ruclips.net/video/M-7KEWXz__E/видео.html : )
Kyde and Eric thanks!, its quite catchy!
You know all those times you ran out of gas and the locals helped you out with the 1 drinking bottle of petrol. How come you never just filled your bike up all the way to the max especially every time you found yourself in town?
Bent Pin We did fill it up to the max every time! We just used it all up! -Kyde
Hey Eric, in the intro you remind me of The BOSS, aka Tommy Lee Jones. Glad this was in the past and good to hear the locals were helpful in your time of need. Drink the famous brand of cola, acid to kill off the bug and try to carry electrolyte tablets in bottle or boiled water for future reference, or carry iv fluid rehydration :) yes good electrolyte from bananas, avocado and coconut juice.
I honestly laughed out loud when I saw the banana drawing and then Kyde following the man through the market, especially when I thought about how wrong it could have gone if he misinterpreted what the drawing depicted.
Hahahah
tom yam yummy!!!!
MrThrashing10001 Oh yeah! -Kyde
Did you learn from your past experience. RUclips video's are most important, health is not. Take care of your health then the youtube video's. being Kind, so you do not take it wrong as an insult. get well.
You have that a little bit backwards. Should read: "RUclips videos are not the most important, health is." :)
Haha, don't worry, the amount of video shot when I was ill really went down. We took a break. That is also why the editing on the Myanmar series wasn't finished earlier, I didn't get a chance to start editing before I went back to work due to illness. We aren't killing ourselves over this, haha. Thanks for the concern though! -Eric
Documentery is your life, and I understand you love to show family and friends every single detail. glad to know you are getting better many days later...
Hard to see Eric sick, but what I found strange it's how kyde doesn't look worry at all, she's like whatever, I don't know if you were already married when you shoot that video, but anyway if you were just gf and bf doesn't mean you don't care for the other health, it is just kind of strange like I said before. Anyway I would like you guys shows us how you manage to order food, buy train tickets get in a cap and all that stuff in countries like those were the language it's an issue
thai first She certainly cares when I'm ill, but she also knows that if she does not handle it well it won't help. She needs to be strong when I am down. She also has seen me sick before and knows what needs to be done, the first time I got very ill she was crying a lot, haha.
Usually making videos of our interactions with people is something we don't do as we think it's rude to just put a camera in someone's face. To answer your question: Often people speak just enough English to sell whatever they are working with, especially in place like train or bus stations. With a cab we would just point to the name of the place we want to go on a map or in a book, then follow along on our GPS to make sure they are going the right direction. With food often people can speak a little bit of English or we just point at what we want with a smile. It's way easier than most people assume. -Eric
its gonna be alright lol awesome as usual you two. eric you did look like shit at the beginning of this vid. glad you made it through
Yea, I felt pretty rough! It only goes downhill from here! Hahahahah. -Eric
Kyde, what is the Splash Zone? And at least you didn't have to go into a toilet that has a big ol turd in it like you did in the past!
I was sick. She was sitting behind me on a motorbike.. The splash zone was a dangerous place to be. -Eric
haha nice!
Dude! Your DNA sucks. You seem to always get sick. So glad both of you didn't eat that. Ya'll would have been screwed! The reason they are so kind and generous is likely due to the Buddhist culture. And so little interactions with outsiders.
It seems like I get sick a lot, but it's really not as bad as it seems. Remember, these videos where I'm getting sick took place over a 6 year time frame, so it just appears that I get sick frequently when watched back. I agree about the reasoning behind their kindness, it's a double whammy of awesome between the Buddhist background and the low number of tourists they have had compared to other countries. Not that the people in Thailand or Laos are unkind, this was just a crazy level of courtesy. -Eric
@@kydeanderic Hi Kyde and Eric, I was really worry about all the time while I'm watching the video that K will going to sick because she's been eating all sorts of food from every dusty and not clean enough or not industrially packed the food. BTW the food at the end of last video 4 was Chinese dry package food, if you're familiar with Chinese grocery store, you can fine there and it is vegetarian, kind of dry tofu stuff, soak in the water for an hour or so to soften and you can put in your whatever you make, it is kind of dressing up variety in you dishes, and not a main food anyway. You guys are so brave and I would never do like that in my life but I am so much enjoy watching all your video about Myanmar even though I found them after six years later. Thank you so much for doing this for the people like me not brave enough to do by myself. Love it, Mya
@@myalee108 Haha, Kyde never gets sick from food. If you watch the rest of this series you will see me get quite sick, however. It's pretty dramatic. -E
