    I think I would watch you two regardless of what you're doing/where you are. Originally I came to your channel to see Japan related things and stuff but I stayed and watched literally almost all your videos (Because I'm still working on watching all of them!) because of your personalities.

    Personally, I like to watch your channel for the experience and the fact that the commentary you guys have on certain situations can be REALLY funny. So half experience half Kyde and Eric pure comedic gold. It's a great sort of being "the outsiders looking in" kind of a feel in terms of travel. Can't wait for part 2 of the Q&A!

    Firstly, thanks for anwsering one of my questions. Secondly. I like this concept of Q&A. Why? Because we get to know more about Kyde and Eric. We can start to understand you as people. what makes you tick, likes, dislikes, hopes and aspirations. The travelvlogs are great, you present the viewer with a down to earth view of the world, something most people want to see and appreciate, hence the subscribers. My door is open if you ever find yourselves in th UK. Keep up the good work. Thank you.

    Love all your uploads. Have never seen two people - well, I have, but only rarely - so attuned to one another. You seem as if you are always on the same wavelength. And happy. Are you always like that? I think you probably are, and if so, good for you! Your videos are always interesting, but your Q&A are especially so. Also, love: "India, we got really, really, really really, r-e-e-e-a-l-l-l-y sick." Sorry to hear that.

    I can confidently say that I would watch you guys doing mundane things. Well I mean, I loved the video about what Eric eats in a week, and that was just him showing off his foodstuffs. It sounds weird, but your videos are a great way to vicariously experience life outside of north america, and I love that. Guess what I'm saying is, 10/10 would watch laundry mat videos.

    Having actually visited Ikebuburo, the "vibe" there is more like a commuter transfer point, since commuter trains from JR East, Seibu and Tobu commuter rail lines plus the Tokyo Metro subway go through Ikebuburo Station, the center of activity in the area. That's why you see a lot of little shops and restaurants catering specifically to the commuter crowd in that part of Tokyo.

    I believe on one of your videos, you guys said you wanted to try visiting Vietnam. I'm going there this December, and a cousin of mine will show me around Nha Trang, Saigon, Can Tho, and the island of Phu Quoc. All of these places are very popular for countries such as US, Euro, etc. From what I've heard, food here is great and are cheap (although tourist attractions has gone up and prices may vary now). I can definitely recommend to eat Vietnamese style dishes and snacks if need be.

    When you guys hit 6000 subs, i think ye should make a nice home made dinner, and talk us through how you made it, and why you chose it (like what you do with the current videos about McDonald and 7/11). Hey there! The questions have all been taped for our QandA series, but I can answer your question here. It really depends on how nicely you want to live, eat and enjoy. If you want to do a bare bones trip for 2 weeks, I would tell you to bring at least $1,000 to 2,000 with you. That's not including airfare to get here. That would cover hotel, eating and doing fun things/buying souvenirs.

    Relating to the back in time question : Have you ever read The Right Stuff by Tom Wolfe ? The writer's style is weird, great, and a bit annoying, but he tells the story of the US space program before the Apollo Projects. I just finished the book and was babbling about it at my christmas party ! I'm not American but fully enjoyed it.

    • @kydeanderic
      @kydeanderic  9 лет назад

      Jonathan Blanchet Don't have to be American to dig getting into space! Sounds like something Eric would love. I have seen the cover of the book, but I don't know if that's because of it being a movie or if Eric read it before. I'll have to ask him! -Kyde

    What education level did you guys have going to Japan? Did you line up your job before showing up? I recently graduated with a BA in English and lived in Japan in '04/'05 on an exchange and want to go back but I find applying through ekawa programs exhausting. Is it a big risk to just go over and apply there and hope to land something within a month or two?

    Love your videos! I couldn't help but notice in this Q&A video that you are kneeling in front of a car and it really looks like a classic "Shelby Cobra", but then I thought it can't be it must be a replica. Travel shows - We have definitely thought about it. We think working for a channel might limit how we can go about our experience/presentation. We might be open to a little bit of limit is there is equal amount of opportunity somewhere else! We are sure that travel channels get a lot of people bugging them to get funded. So, it would be good for us to get a good fan base before we try to ask anyone to fund us. Tell your friends!

    Love hotels are pretty shabby hotels, kinda gross at times. That are usually frequented by people how are having one night flings, married couples who need to get out of the house to get it on and in some instances prostitutes. They are pretty different from regular hotels because you can walk up to them and they might have a display to show what each room looks like and they may all be different. They are usually much cheaper too and you can get them in 3-4 hour chunks as well as overnight.

    I watch your videos because I don't feel I will ever be able to do what you have done. So as I have said before, Thank you. Without the videos of your life in japan, I would have little to look forward to each day other than the mundane and drag of a life I have.

  • @kydeanderic

    I hate to be a bummer, but we have already shot the video for the Q&A. So your question can't be added. I would have to say that I don't really have much understanding of what you're asking. If you are getting at that Japanese people will say one thing and really think another. Japanese people don't want to say no, so this works good for me if I want to get away with something or it could be bad if I end up not knowing if I'm gonna upset someone. I hope that answers your question.

    @ 4:14 you talk about the fast-food-ish pasta they serve at the restaurant... given that rice and noodles are such staples there, is it even possible to eat low carb while in Japan? I got a job pretty quickly (by pure luck) at a cram school next to our house. About 10 months later I went out and got a job working a Saturday school at another place, and that spun into both of our jobs for our third year in Japan. You technically can come into the country on a tourist visa and have it changed to a work visa while you are here, but I wouldn't advise that without a concrete job offer before getting on the plane. _Eric
