But you can do, I believe 76% of all missions in chapter 3. But I would much rather go to chapter 4 and and get my 2 additional equipment slots and my material fusion option :D

Cloud's remake VA is great in this game
Hell yeah. I was immediately thinking about that when they announced the CC remake. Brianna did a wonderful job as well. Andrea had done her best, but I think she either OVERthought the character, or was overDIRECTED... her performances in CC and AC were... "different." AC was good to me, CC was.... well, poorly written and directed.
Always thought Steve's version in CC and AC were good, but Cody NAILED Cloud in my opinion, and I'm a very old-school girl. I was 16 when FF7 came out. Had to steal a playstation to even play it (borrowed) and stole the game itself (rented... but the original copy I got wouldn't work right, so I stupidly popped disc one out and shoved disc two in, and the game somehow worked....but for the Mako Reactor explosion, we got the WEAPONS at crater sequence lol so I had nooo idea what was really going on. Plus, no mem cards!)
Cody nailed his delivery. Not only was he younger, he's a "different" person... which this Cloud is. Aerith? That's Brianna thousand percent, I can't say how much I love her. Having her stick to somewhat the original delivery with her tone? Perfect.
Never really liked Zack until Crisis Core. I felt like he was usurping Cloud's story originally, and it certainly confused the hell out of Aerith's relationship with Cloud, to me. After AC I was.... frustrated. I forget what developer (might've been Uematsu-san himself) claimed during development of FF7, one of his family passed away, I think it was his mother... I don't recall the interview. But there was an insistence on accepting death as a part of life, and that entire tone was what drove Aerith's story element. I admire the bravery of it, but I admit I was quite traumatized originally. I'm a bit of an eccentric, and the characters meant so much to me. The first Lunar game was the only other time I had cried in a game.
RPGs huh. But you're damn right. Cody NAILED this, both not just a younger Cloud, but a DIFFERENT Cloud.
The story and dialogue makes a lot more sense when you remember zack was repeatedly dropped on his head as a child

I grew up with kingdom hearts to and I played the original crisis core on psp at the time. Trust me it's still cheesy but I love it and cried at the end. I was just starting high school at the time lmao

I always go back and watch the new end scene of Intergrade when he’s standing in front of the church, and this reminds me that when given the creative freedom he actually sounds really good.
Yes the intergrade ending was good. We can certainly look forward in rebirth.
Critics should listen to his lines in the 25th anniversary. It's short but you can hear it has emotions.
Plus people forgets the actors are only as good as the director, if the director says it's good then the actor has done his job.
So if people has problems with the voice actor go blame S.E.
I like that they left the line delivery the same. It gives everything this weird almost Twin Peaks like atmosphere.

As someone who only played FF7 remake and afterwards ~2/3 of the original, I was so surprised how they introduced cloud. Really loved this game, enjoyable and fun combat with a cool prequel story. Cant wait for rebirth.

I have criticized Zack's new voice actor in this, saying that he's not quite as good as Rick Gomez was in the original. However I will admit that now for the second part that Zack is slightly older and the voice sounds a bit more mature, it's really good! I was also just as baffled as you were Max, to see the new additions to the game, like the new mechanics! I played this through twice on PSP and always did like it so the mere fact that they've made it -better- is just a plain win!
This game IS addicting. Holy shit. I really like how rewarding the chests you find in the side missions are, very surprising.

I like the new one more because I think it makes a little bit more sense, but it annoys the hell out of me that they didn’t sync the lips movement for it. Like, choose one and stick to it xD

@@MariusBoss11458 I usually don’t really care for that either, but it just felt like a weird thing to miss if you are changing the dialogue on purpose. Why not go the whole way and change the timing of the lips too?
@@livith9 Good question. I wish they used AI Lip Sync like they did with Remake. (They used it for the scenes that aren't cutscenes. Which made me feel like those are where the Text only was supposed to be at. Like when Tifa shows Cloud his room number and shit)
The gameplay is the main reason why I’m addicted to this game, spent 3-4 hours in chapter 2 doing all the missions

Rip takes me from full on "On god I wanna have kids someday" to... "how the fuk does Max deal with this" in the space of like... 30 seconds... that fighting game awareness coming into play with keeping his eye on the game and a child. Sheesh.
I am also surprised at how good this game has been. I really wasn't expecting it to be so improved.

2:27:20 Oooh! So THAT'S the difference between the SOLDIER 3rd 2nd and 1st class uniforms. I honestly couldn't tell when Zack first changed, but seeing the 3 shades of blue next to eachother I can tell them apart.

I'm calling it now, In FFVII: Rebirth, Cloud is gonna duo weild his and Zack's Burster Sword, as a reference of his fighting style in Advent Children.

Briana White is great in Remake, and she tries to be great here, but there's only so much even someone as talented as her can do with Crisis Core's writing and voice direction.

Crisis core has a little bit of roguelite to it, with the absurdly scaling materia if you put the effort into it and a bunch of different builds you can try. I think that's part of what keeps it fun.

@@cherrydragon3120 so like... it's not balanced around you doing the 5 and 6* difficulty missions... since he slammed his head against a few of those early on, he was able to earn a bunch of powerful materia WAY earlier than you're supposed to... which gave him some serious snowballing.
Love Crisis Core so much. I'm sad that many people don't but hopefully this remaster+ will change their minds

Watching these as I’m playing through like I did with GOWR. They really did a good job on this remake/remaster. Such a nice primer for Rebirth. Can’t wait for that.

There's upper and lower levels. And they're both long streets with buildings on one side and the ocean on the other...
I think the voices direction is the same because they wanted to use to old animation rigging so they would have to match how dialouge is said.

One quick thing, random observation I made yesterday (when I beat the game) that I wanted to type before I forget:
In the Rebirth trailer, Max’s chat were saying “the white feather represents Angeal!” Or “the white feather represents Aerith!”
No. After beating the game yesterday, that white feather is Zack. One hundred and ten percent. That white feather floats around in the end of Crisis Core as Zack is reciting his closing monologue. That’s Zack.

I like the fact you read all e-mails and talk to people, so we can hear the dialog.
38:51 NO ITS NOT, that scene with tidus is done on purpose, its meant to be an uncanny joke, because he is trying to make Yuna laugh, just look at the reaction of the other character, or better yet, look at the scene as it progresses, after that laugh he just goes on to laugh naturaly.

I am glad I never played OG crisis core. I do enjoy this Zack VA. Really all the VAs hit for me.

I like how in Runion the cutscene for Exaflare shows how Bahamut Fury create an artificial moon-like asteroid. In the OG it always looked like it was blowing up dozens of moons which was always confusing to me

Watching post-rebirth and now you can see how the developers were testing out so many small elements of rebirth in this game. Early visuals of the grasslands, Corel, costa del sol, and Junon, having the playable characters in beach outfits and Zach using an umbrella weapon, seeing Cait Sith in a cut scene but without VA, the moogle... More and more connections just keep coming up.
The tidus laughing scene is meant to be bad. In context yuna knows that she has to die so she just laughs her worries away and tidus joins her not know but doing it to help his problems. I do agree though how Roch is crazy because the mako and i wonder if its because they were born or enhanced as kids if the others are affected different
This game is a rebuild. Liking it a lot.

I really appreciate Max sticking up for the new VA in the beginning. Caleb Pierce has done an excellent job. There are some iconic lines delivered by Rick Gomez in OG CC, but overall I actually feel like Caleb's voice fits the naïve "puppy dog" kind of character Zack is, and he sounds good with this Aerith and contrasts more with this Cloud.
Yeah, I feel like Caleb captured Zacks youthfulness better.
I love this game! I recently got the platinum trophy for this 2 days ago on PS5!

@@RasenRendanX I did it in 2 playthroughs. I did one on normal where I maxed out at level 99 and got the entire Genji armor set. I got all of the trophies except the one you get for clearing the game on Hard difficulty. In the second playthrough, I played on hard difficulty on New game plus and skipped all of the cut scenes, which did not take long to do.
@Ball-Steve Johnson, you could've just changed it to hard mode for the final boss on your first playthrough

Definitely just gotten platinum today. Just FF7 in general will always be my favorite final fantasy of all time.

To the discussion about body movements and subtlety of facial expressions in newer games. Relying on body expression is still a great thing and facial should not be the only thing devs rely on as that's how you get people having to take off helmets or masks everytime they have to talk otherwise the devs think there is no way they can get emotion across when body language is right there.
Body language is very powerful stuff, you hardly need facial expressions if it's done properly. The best if when they complement each other, but I also love when the body language somehow contrast with dialogue and facial expressions and it's
used to underscore conflicting emotions or outright insincerity. It's very difficult though, it requires great sensitivity from the author and great attention from the viewer. Most of the time body language is just used to amplify whatever is being said or just as character's quirks. I don't blame them, I don't expect most players of a quick action game to pay much attention to that.
To think they made Crisis Core one of the better games in the series is crazy.
Imagine if they actually manage to salvage Dirgr of Cerberus with a remake 💀
Hold your horses, they improved the game but it's still far away to be even a top 10 Final Fantasy

I've always loved OG Crisis Core. Zack always seemed wide eyed and puppy-like even in FF7 original flashback. To me not much changed but the visuals and a bit of the dialogue

I went back and played Crisis Core on PSP during my time in OEF, great game.

Hard mode in PSP sucked the most. Gives enemies several times more HP. Good luck getting through the first mission and having the patience to get through the rest.
I struggle with the fact that this is still a PSP game, it IS dated in terms of the dialogue and how characters move, and the repetitive missions. However I love anything that is FF7, seeing Zack and Aeris, and the material fusion is genius

This game definitely is more than a remastered game what we normally get. How I wish all remastered game were handle though get this was easier since they are using stuff from FFR. Also love Max face when he sees they added buster stance

Plus Japanese to English localization during this time wasn't that good, or at least still was for some companies. Granted there are still some things and nuances in Japanese that don't carry over into the English to this day. This was during a time where they just tried to carry over the same cadence and performance from Japanese and thought that's all they had to do. That's why a lot of JRPGs tended to have very formal and by-the-books dialogue and tone. It's why Max tends to say "everyone in this besides Zack talk like an anime robots". If you want an extremely egregious example, look at Metroid: Other M.

Yes and the same can be told for Clsta del Sol, Junon (cliff from, town even if we havent seenthe dowtown from Junon, Nibelheim, Gongagal.
Only thing ks that you have to make the difference because the layout isnbased on the ancient one: psp one and so the ps1 version (think to the slum c'early it s not the future _ff7 remake layout and we can say the se for Nibelheim i hope).
Color for Costa del Sol is clearly more whiteish and not as yellowish than before.
We are lucky this raster is part of ff7 remake compilation ^^
