This video is even better than that brilliant fighting game community video. The sauce, the disrespect, the pure comedy. I love this genre. Thank you for cementing my love for fighting games so long ago, Max.
10:55 this was 100% choreographed and planned out ahead of time. I could maybe see the 5M-2M-6H-5H-2H at the start being an organic clash string, but there’s no shot that they both went into the same special move after that, then called the same assist, went into DR, teched it, dash, DR again, teched again, and finally did level 1 super for absolutely no reason.
Nope, that's actually real. In a lot of animé fighters, the input buffer is a bit more generous to compensate for game speed, so people input parts of their combo from muscle memory ahead of time without confirming, since the games tend to be too fast to react off of a single hit confirm. Everything else then follows consistent optimization for getting through or getting blocked, and clashing equals getting through, so both tried to outpace the other with the optimal combo. Of course, as both should have realized what the other was doing, either one could've deviated to try and counter, but the risk vs. reward was way too low, since that combo is optimal for a reason.
@@KazeMemaryu bruh, I know how the input buffer system works in this game, that has nothing to do with what I’m saying. For one thing, clashes are super rare in this game because of the priority system. For another, this isn’t the kind of game where you just throw out supers as soon as you get the meter because there’s a penalty to your meter gain after supers, ex moves, vanishes, anything that costs meter to use. High-level players like this can react to clashes after 1-2 hits, maybe 3 at the most, so there’s no shot they kept going on autopilot and then not only wasted meter but put themselves into meter penalty.
@@SSJ_Derp Apparently they did, hoping the other would slip up. I obviously can't read their minds, but it seems to me like neither saw a good window to drop the combo and approach differently without getting hit. Hell, the meter penalty was easily more acceptable than risking a hit, when every character has ToD's.
I always loved how someone made a fanart of the "What are you standing up for?!" moment, which showed Millia doing the arms-up victory pose with Woshige's name written on the "license plate" on her hat.

Wow, super cool to be featured in a Max video! Much love (and shoutouts to the editors for all the work on the video ❤ )
For a bit of context on the Kefla mirror clip, the two players are friends and labbed this exact starting sequence for a good hour before going on their match haha. This was an exhibition ahead of a major weekend so they wanted to bring the vibes... and they sure did!
Mais Damascus laisse nous croire au père noël xD
Is that my fav French FGC commentator I see? Yo wus good fam?! Much love from Dallas TX! 🤟🏿
I wanna believe man......
Noooo Santa is real!
9:50 Cody once again proving why he is one of the strongest characters in Street Fighter. He’s just truly built different 😂
Brooo I rewatched that moment 14 times. That was the dirtiest thing I've seen in my life when it comes to fighting games..
Correct me if I'm wrong, but did mans just jump cancel out of a special?
P I N G
C R I M S O N
@@lastpringle8904It was a Rollback moment, the game registered erroneosly a EX Zonk, so the game corrected itself mid-battle, leading to the Jump.
21:15 I've never heard Max wheeze so hard at something until this moment! His wheeze got me to wheeze!! 😂😂😂
Man, find the clip of them playing Virtua Tennis when he laughs at Steve's scream lmao. You can feel the pain in your own sternum from how hard Max rattled.
@@sh00ner Max saying he just wants to play Mario 64 while watching the parallel universe video is definitely one of my favorite moments. He was wheezing for several minutes straight lmao
That’s the raw power of the kazoo
You gotta find the clip where he was looking at AI generated 'real life' SF5 characters. He loses it when Gief pops up😂
THAT is the Monado’s power
9:32 I'M SO HAPPY THIS VOICE CLIP FROM WOOLIE GOT USED! HATS OFF TO THE EDITOR!!
Thanks for the info!
All the love to the editors for making this already goofy stream into an insane vid
6:58 I NOW KNOW WHERE THIS VOICE CLIP COMES FROM! In Strive I have it for when Ino commands grab supers you
That's so HER!
XD
That big band main had been waiting his whole life for that moment.
I love big band so much.
Big band and Beowulf are quite the memes on the game
I love that this isn't just an upload of a portion of the vod and the editing visualizes the explanations and actually credits the original clips. Highest quality reaction content I've encountered, cudos to Max and the editors.
My favorite part of Chris Hu explaining the DHC glitch is… it actually makes complete sense. It’s just worded badly!
Not James Chen, Chris Hu. Chris is a legend in NYC FGC, as is his accent and English skills. But yeah, Chris does explain the glitch correctly. IIRC it was Aquasilk who crit failed his roll to translate Hu Speak.
@@mindwarp42 Thanks for the correction. I forgot his name there.
Does he just mean it’s like a reset?
@@blazaybla22It's basically a reset that actually happens to continue the combo.
So, damage scales as if it's a fresh hit. Massive damage.
In other words, two combos, but somehow connected perfectly together. Forget unblockable resets, how about resetting while you're still in hitstun?
Never in my life did I think I'd appear in a Max video, and I'm glad it was for a legendary gaming moment lmao. Thanks Max! You're the best and that video never gets old.
which was yours?
@@jaealxndrthe "somebody's getting fuuuuuucked" clip
God I love knowing this happened in Michigan.
3:00 "But you didn't kill me, YOOOOOU didn't kill meeeee"♪
Man, this part with the editing got even funnier, good job editor! haha
That Happy Birthday clip is FOUL. Thats just straight up murder
The most disrespectful clip…maybe of all time
The epitome of transformative work, Max adds so much to this it's insane. The result is, no joke, one of my favorite RUclips videos of all time.
The single funniest thing about the Woshige clip is that after the match Ogawa pops off, and then looks over his shoulder to make sure he's not doing the same thing.
Its subtle but its all I can see now
“WHAT ARE YOU STANDING UP FOR???” still rings in my head from time to time lol. That was literally my first year watching EVO
Wooshige noooo????
Literally a "Taunt to Get Bodied" moment.
The funniest part of the clip is that you can see Ogawa checkijg to make sure he didint just do the sam thing when he stands up
14:12 -- Shoutout to the editors for the choice of Monken's Beeper (the song from Yakuza: Like a Dragon) for use as a warning.
I couldn't understand what was happening in that section of the video or why he is as so afraid
@@guilhermefranco2930 Oh there's a reason. If you go to the original video he's looking at, it just degenerates into a racist mess of language and would have probably demonitized Max's channel. Enough people were also familiar with the content that they also warned Max.
13:20 this part killed me, kudos to Max's editor lol
This and the Shulk kazoo are my favorite parts 😂😂💀💀
What song was used?
@@atmaillumina virtual insanity
@@notamobilesprout4175 Thanks. I have it on my playlist but I have so many songs and I forgot what it was called lol.
4:38 I also remember seeing this live. AsianLamb vs JWong is the set that lives in my head rent free. I share that clip every holiday season.
15:15 goes so hard ngl
Iconic
25:05 so THAT'S where Sajam get his famous "Twerked on em" quote from 😂😂😂😂😂😂
The editor did an amazing job on this one, down to the comedic timing and even gave credit to the original tweet and/or video. Perfection *chefs kiss*
Bruh that Jann Lee player had me on my knees gasping for air I could not HANDLE that shit. Him being such a good singer just made it even funnier.
My friends and I are constantly referencing that clip.
So funny enough I serve with that guy in Japan. He basically plays any Bruce Lee character in a fighting game
5:50
Oh my god, that is the 1st time that I've ever seen this clip. I'm in tears right now from laughing so much at this. Virtua Fighter essentially bodied Dead or Alive and their proud of it, lol XD.
And that explosion upon landing pretty much seals the deal. Absolutely impressive!
👏👏👏😆
Only in videogames that is NOT MURDER
XD
10:18 Seeing Lythero in here put a huge smile on my face. :)
5:20 || V || --> || punch. This kid is experiencing what true fighting game trauma looks like
18:41 Gotta love Joels' ability to go for the funny at every possible moment he can.
Yeah, even if it's a bit fecal sometimes.
I just love watching Max laugh and the editors went above and beyond. This is so much fun and it feels good to watch something as simple as a reaction video given so much care.
8:16 "I can't watch too many of these"
Max did, in fact, watch many more of these
This video is even better than that brilliant fighting game community video. The sauce, the disrespect, the pure comedy. I love this genre. Thank you for cementing my love for fighting games so long ago, Max.
13:31 veterans speaking to casuals/newbies
XD
10:55 this was 100% choreographed and planned out ahead of time. I could maybe see the 5M-2M-6H-5H-2H at the start being an organic clash string, but there’s no shot that they both went into the same special move after that, then called the same assist, went into DR, teched it, dash, DR again, teched again, and finally did level 1 super for absolutely no reason.
Good thing it wasn't choreographed
The super at the end gives it away, it was a setup for a clean 0 bar round start.
The slow-mo Tekken clip with Akuma just sliding in with the raging demon at the end just fucking SENT me
13:06
20:56 This hits so much harder as a Shulk player to me. Back Slash is so fuckin satisfying to hit.
Seeing Max react to Berleezy is something I never thought would've ever happened 💀
Joel too
I never thought I'd see that day where I can see Berleezy and Max in the same video 😂
21:07 The ultimate punish 🤣🤣🤣
18:42 That He-Man pizza clip actually killed me lmfao
I always loved how someone made a fanart of the "What are you standing up for?!" moment, which showed Millia doing the arms-up victory pose with Woshige's name written on the "license plate" on her hat.
I need to see this
I need to see that fanart XD
I don't know how much Max pays his editor, but it's not enough. Man's a goddamn editing genius.
Fantastic editing! Not just for the humour, but all of the levels of educational context, and especially the fact that every video is given extensive credit. So much effort put in, and it has not gone unnoticed!
That Shulk clip is the single most disrespectful Smash kill I’ve ever seen. My god, I love it so much 🤣
That Shulk/Ness clip has been living rent-free in my head for YEARS since I first saw it.
Look, Max's energy is as infectious as ever, and the clip selection is pure gold.
But I haven't got enough words to say how awesome the editor's job was here. I have no idea if it's Max himself or somebody else, but it was sublime. Each clip had the exact right amount of edits, and the style varied accordingly.
I had already watched a great video about this thread and I had even seen it in loco. This was still an awesome video that made me enjoy stuff I had already seen. I can always count on Max making my day brighter.
This one easily the best thing that Max ever made for reactionary videos. Even for me who's a casual in FGC, this is fun!
I don't use social media, but this stream made me actually bookmark a twitter thread to revisit again in the future
130+ comments here... you are on social.
@@vangelisgru7271 ok then..that’s fair, I’ll just say minimal social media usage if the social media argument is going to extend to Twitch.
Sorry, whats the thread? Thnx
Ngl this was the most entertaining video Max has put out in a long time. Just seeing weird wonkey interactions and Max reacting to them made my week...need more of this
side note, one thing i love about Max is that he accepts when he is wrong. its a really hard thing to do, especially live infront of 10,000 people.
Nearly half an hour of Max reacting to just random FGC clips is like a Max Reacts x50. I am so in for this bottomless well of content.
Oh shit I made it into a Max video and it’s my biggest blunder in MVCI lmao. 19:30
That loop was something, alright.
11:22 This moment, *this moment right here* is how Dragon Ball is supposed to be played and look
16:24 - ive seen alot of ppl atrributing the "what are you standing up for" saying to this clip. They actually got it from Ricky Ortiz in a clip from years prior. Somebody popped off thinking their super was gonna kill and they had to sit back down real quick. Ricky's Rufus came all the way back, beat him, the Ricky stood up mean muggin sayin "what are you standing up for??" Was genuinely a fuckin incredible FGC moment
12:46 he blew up THE CODE...

The Jax clip might just be my all-time favorite FG clip. The immediate realization that it's all over, the controller drop, the music - it's perfect. I have to watch it at least 6 times every time I see it.
3:58 Hey that’s me! 😃
That is you. :^)
It was indeed not frost.
Indeed it is you!
7:35 He's like dude stop lemme go
9:10 watching Max giving that reaction towards what happens to Sephiroth, I’m here thinking “wait did Max really not know Hero can do that?”
That DBZ clip looks pretty much like how some actual fights go in the show, both fighters sometimes mimic each other's moves for some time and save for their respective appearance being different it's like having a mirror right between each one.
This video almost feels like a FGC Museum of memes and iconic moments, I absolutely love it.
21:02 Hilarious drop with epic music drop? Yes please! What is this tasty jam?
