The first 6 mins or so is me struggling to get the level and drain screws out. I wanted to keep that in the video because this is a common thing...overly tight screws. Skip to 6:15 or so for the drain plug removal.

I recommend an impact screwdriver like 12 bucks harbor freight.... Also a closed ended wrench will fit over the end of a screwdriver. Not sure what size that wrench is... Hope that helps next time

I believe 80-90 is recommended below 75hp and 90 is for 75hp and above.

Where did you find a new carb and impeller for this motor. I have the same one built in 1983.

Both were found on eBay, the carb was a rebuilt unit, and the impeller was NOS.

Hey there! Thanks for the videos--both this and the oil change were just what I was looking for. I just picked up an ever so slightly newer b100 (I believe an 84ish?) off Craigslist after my buddy has had so much success with his 82, but after examining the lower unit I think there may have been some water in there. I am a complete novice when it comes to boats but have experience with older car motors so I know a bit, but not a lot. Is this a huge issue, or something I should just watch after changing the lower gear unit's oil?

Glad you like the videos, and that they were helpful...that's why I'm putting them out there! I'm not an expert either, but if this were mine and it had some minor surface rust on the gearing that you can see, I would be ok running it with a fresh gear oil change for a few hours, then change it again to see if there is still water intrusion. If not, another gear oil change, and then watch it. Minor surface rust will clean itself off. If there is pitting that you can see in the gearing...that's the bad news. Water intrusion can come from a cracked impeller case, a crack in the actual lower unit case, or prop shaft seal. If there is or was water...it's getting in from somewhere.
