interesting videos. Thanks, I have only done a ride-along in a sprint car - never driven - but I am the curious guy in the pits and find most drivers/crew willing to talk and answer questions ( as long as they are not trashing getting ready for the next heat !)

Great video guys. All the knowledge that it takes to get that car around the track as fast as possible is amazing. Only thing I'm setting ride height on is the Cub Cadet. Maybe some stagger and only cut grass in one direction. Hoping Santa brings me a new #8 RUclips shirt !!!

My Henchcraft and Ben Cook cars both had the same block size when setting up the cars in the shop. I was always told in order to begin from square one, you block the car on the stands and set the car on the ground with 12" of stagger and always with 12 gallons of fuel. Then you adjust the ride height from the level floor to the bar center at all 4 corners to the required height. At the track the pits were either a mud hole or your pit area looked like a whoop section at a motocross track so ride height was technically hard to determine other than "off the blocks" and simply guess! We built all of our own wings "in house" for most of my racing days so I relied a lot on wing height more than angle of attack. I made adjustable mounts to actually raise the wing higher or lower on the car. I could raise the wing deck height 4" from the standard height. Made a huge difference in how fast the car would transfer weight. I even tried it on the front wing to get it away from the hood. I found that leverage was something interesting to work with. Keep those videos coming! And keep the IC LIGHT sacred!!

When running 360 B 4" F 2" most of our tracks dry slick and some times take rubber.

Rf on a 2" block? Or lf on a raised rail?

Bill, with the changing of block height to a big block to lower car.. would you still use the recommended ride height by Maxim.. EG A RR ride height is 14 3-8 with a 4 Block and 1025 bar on a heavy track.
Bigger block is going to mean more weight in all corners to get the height.
or would you adjust the ride height to match the block eg 1-4 inch difference in block change Ride height by 1/4 inch?

This may be the dumbest question any of you ever heard, but do the setup blocks stay in the car after setting the height or do you use the blocks to adjust the car then remove them? Sorry, ive never seen an actual race suspension.

Once the car is on the wheels you remove the blocks.
