- Cartoons are a huge part of DePaul University animation student Carlos Roqués’ life. However, the art form is more than just children’s cartoons or a creative past time. It represents an entire mode of expression that impacts everyone in every language - from making connections with family members, to sharing the traumatic experiences of war. Carlos is a sophomore in the College of Computing and Digital Media; studying animation and philosophy. He is originally from the rural farmland of Skagit Valley, Washington, and spends his free time performing in theatrical productions, doing freelance animation work, reading poetry and watching Lord of the Rings with his tabby cat. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx
I remember him passing out handrawn stapled comics on the playground at our school when we were younger. Amazing to see him where he is now!
