Easy CROCKPOT BIRRIA Makes the Best BIRRIA TACOS Recipe!
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 16 май 2024
- Mexican birria de res from the heart of Jalisco is a hearty slow-cooked stew with the utmost flavor and juicy, fall-apart tender beef. You can serve it in a bowl with fresh toppings like onion, cilantro, and lime juice, or go the extra step to make cheesy birria tacos (quesabirria).
There's no one exact way to make birria, and you'll find many versions online. It was originally made with goat meat (birria de chivo), but now, different regions of Mexico have put their own spin on this classic dish with beef as the preferred meat. This slow cooker or Crockpot birria recipe I’m sharing today stems from all the delicious experiences I’ve had with it - from local taco stands in Mexico to authentic, home-cooked versions. And I can't wait for you to try it!

Love me some slow cooker Mexican meat! What's your personal favorite - birria, carnitas, barbacoa or my salsa verde chicken?? xo - Lisa
Chili verde and birria, but ,I make all sorts of Mexican dishes.
It was the barbacoa up until I tried the salsa verde chicken. I suspect the birria will be a new fave though! I always have one of these stored in my fridge or freezer for a quick weeknight meal since they are all favorites in my house!
@@jenb6051Excited to hear your thoughts about this new birria recipe!
Update on kitchen gadgets? ☺️
As soon as I saw the tittle I knew it was gonna be a must have recipe. As a Mexican I’m embarrassed to say I have never made birria because of the hassle, and also how easy is to find it in taquerias- even though is not always as good as homemade. However, as usual, I am so excited to try this, you always manage to excel my expectations, always keeping the authenticity of recipes, but making easier and delicious. Thank you!
To be honest, I thought Birria was going to be difficult to make at first, but it’s actually not that bad! I hope you love this recipe ❤

My favorite ❤
This is a very delicious taco with enriched stewed beef! It tastes a little spicy flavor, I think. Love it very much! Actually, all foods depend on ingredients. Your recipe has this advantage. Thank you!
You said it right! And yes, it's a bit spicy, but you could always tweak it to your liking.
Looks very yummy. Thumbs up👍
Thank you so much 👍
Ty!!!❤
Love your recipes. I’m a huge bbq lover and smoke my roast and vegetables for birria.
You're going to love this one!
Very good 💯
There is a small restaurant around the corner from me that makes a birria ramen
Its the best most wonderful thing ever
Birria ramen has definitely become super popular as of late!
Wow Yammy 👍
The barbacoa was delicious! Can’t wait to try birria!! I made your cottage pie for my lunches this week and I’ve made your almond flour pumpkin bread twice this week. So yummy!!
I'm glad you've been enjoying so many recipes! Hope you love this birria as well :)
This looks so yummy. I have goat in my freezer right now. I’m going to get some chilies and try this. Thank you!
This will be great with goat meat!
Thank you Lisa, you look great btw!
A little tip: It’s pronounced “bee-rria” Hopefully that helps. Great recipe! You’re making this Mexican girl proud 😌
Thanks for the tip! :)
You make cooking look so approchable, I always assumed this was a complicated and time-consuming recipe but now I can't wait to try it, especially because I live in Europe where there's virtually no mexican immigration so it will be my first time trying this, looks like we're missing out lol
Hope you enjoy it!
🙂WOOOOOW👍Scrumptious!🙂Stay blessed!👍Keep it up!🙂God bless you abundantly forever 🙂🙂Enjoy amazingly blessed week 🙂🙂Stay happy and well protected. 🙂
Can the blending be done with an immersion blender? I don't have a large blender. Thanks, looking forward to trying this!
Can’t wait to try this recipe. Have your cookbook, really a great one. Have enjoyed all your recipes. Can this be done in the instant pot on slow cook?
I haven't tested this in an Instant Pot, so I would look up a birria recipe that uses that for proper cooking instructions. But you can use the ingredients in mine!
Making this now but doing it in the oven in a Dutch oven. Can’t wait till it’s done. Question- the sauce left a tinge of color in my vitamix, container , any way to get this out? Has it happened to you?
I like your easy recipe for beef birria. It’s very similar to mine, except that I use whole spices that I toast and grind. I also use beer along with the beef broth. The main difference, though, is that I use chuck, ox tail bones and short ribs, instead of only chuck. I will be using your recipe if I ever need a shortcut or don’t have all the ingredients. Thank you!!
Your version sounds amazing! Thanks for sharing :)
This looks delicious, but yeah, I’d give a good sear to the beef. Love your channel. 👍
A good sear will make this even more delicious :)
I would like to try this in an instant pot. How long would you recommend to cook for and how long for natural and/or quick release?
It looks insanely delicious. Can this be done in a pressure cooker? Thank you for sharing.
I haven’t tested this in a pressure cooker, but you can look up a recipe for proper time and instructions, but use my ingredients 😊
You must be doing something right Lisa; my mouth was watering as I was watching this. I first discovered Birria about a year ago when I stopped at a food truck in Salinas, CA, then took it to a nearby park to eat it as the sun was going down. Obviously, it made an impression on me!
It's definitely becoming very popular on the West Coast! Hope you enjoy this recipe if you ever make it yourself at home :)
Looks incredibly GOOD! I’ve been searching for birria recipes and I will definitely try this one 😊
Maybe soon you can search a Sandwichon (sandwich that looks like a cake) recipe and share a recipe with us. That’s a recipe I’ve also been searching for but I have not yet come across one that I actually want to try.
I can't wait for you to try this birria recipe! As for the sandwichon, I'll have to look into that :)
Good job with the birria 🎉 ❤ easy way to do it and is gluten-free I follow you because I also have celiac
Celiac twins! Hope you enjoy this delicious birria recipe.
I went looking all over for birria in LA. Prices vs. quality was unreasonable. So I went home and made it with bone marrow on the side. Best I’ve ever had for under $15 for 6 servings.
Sometimes a homemade version is much better!
Yummy
Where do you find dried chiles that are not on equipment shared with wheat???
Please put a ingredients list in the description
Will try this! But why use Apple cider vinegar and not regular vinegar?
Thank you so much for sharing this great and unique recipe. It's very delicious very tasty. Your all recipes are unique and fantastic..Weldone ❤🧡💕👍.Your all talents and cooking/baking skills are outstanding. You are a wonderful innocent cute God's given very special very pretty very talented very beautiful gorgeous woman with a very impressive voice, stunning smile and mesmerising personality. May God bless you with the best because you are the bestst among all the best, Stay blessed 🎉😊😊❤🧡
Thanks so much for your kind words! Hope you enjoy this recipe.
Cant wait to make this soon for me can i use tofu and vegetable broth i never had birria before perfect for my after office meals
Excited for you to make this Ramya!
Lately, I rarely eat red meat but I need to try this spicy meat (I love spices) I hope I can find all those chilis here in Spain... but I will skip cilantro 😂 Thanks for the recipe Lisa 🤗
I think this recipe will change your mind about red meat! Hope you love it 😉
My BD coming up in April planned on your birria tacos for all my friends and will introduce you to them , and also elote corn if i can get the corn.
This will be the perfect meal to make for your birthday! I hope you and your friends enjoy this recipe 🙂
Home made is so much better. And you can save money! I freeze the spice paste and take it out when I am ready to make it.
Great, I don't think I have problem of making this later , because we have 2 & 1/2 Mexican grocery store within 3 miles ratio. But for this weekend weather report said that we have light rain and cooler temperatures so I gonna make your shepherds pie and beside my wife is coming home too from a trip to Japan with her girl friends it going to be a warm and closies dish for her.
Shepherd's pie is a great option for a cozy night in. But definitely keep this birria recipe to make next! I have a feeling you both will love it.
Delicioso! 😋 👍
What would be a difference to you from using a crackpot versus a regular stock pot? I have always made it on a big pot for several hours on low but i wonder if i should but a crackpot for stews like that😅🤷🏻♀️🤔
You can make this with a stock pot as well! I have some instructions for that in the post 😊
Birria is made with goat and when you use beef it's called barbacoa. In our family we still calle it birria😅😊thanks for sharing your version because there more than you can imagine
Mole! Mole recipe, please!
That's gonna feed the whole family and then some.
Most definitely!!
Im starving now for some tacos. Looks delicious and I know my teensgers will lovr this. I'm wondering can you sub out chicken? Or is there a similar dish like this made with chicken?
While a different flavor profile, my salsa verde chicken is also a slow cooker recipe and a big favorite! Give it a try: downshiftology.com/recipes/crockpot-salsa-verde-chicken/
고추씨는 시원한 매운맛을 내주는데 탈탈 털리는 모습을 보니 마음이 아프다 ㅜ ㅜ
Do you have any conversion for Instant pot using pressure cooker time or the slow cooker button on the pressure cooker? I don't want to spend money on a crockpot. I want to make this tomorrow on my day off. It is so mouth watering.
I don't have the exact instructions, so I would look up an Instant Pot birria recipe for the proper time and temperature. But you could use the ingredients used in this recipe!
@@Downshiftology Thanks for the super fast reply. Always love your recipes and your printable instruction. More slow cooker recipes please. I would so invest in one. I cook for 1 only and it would be nice to meal prep batches for lunch and dinner to save money.
Birria Tacos 😉 No comment necessary, just enjoy and relax💯 A Woman that knows and wants to cook Birria tacos🤣Wifeyyy
❤for🇮🇳 best Birria Birria 😂😂
I wonder if I can use deer instead of beef.
Great recipe, the only thing that would take it to the next level is to add the lime pickled red onions!
Oh, good call! 😉
Welp im glad i need to go grocery shopping
how would this be prepared with chicken?
Hi there! You might be able to reference my salsa verde chicken recipe: downshiftology.com/recipes/crockpot-salsa-verde-chicken/
Do you have a recipe to make the tortillas from scratch?
Yes! I have it here: downshiftology.com/recipes/cassava-flour-tortillas/
@@Downshiftology thank you! I love spicy food but I dont know how to train myself to tolerate hot peppers. Any advice? This recipe looks really tasty and convenient!
I am making it right now but it tastes like mole 😭 what do I do ?
could you pressure can this recipe?
