We can't thank you enough Derek for speaking with us about our pop up problem. Your videos are the best around and through them and the part you told us to order, we were able to fix the lift problem on our pop up. You are the best!
Great video. I'm not trying to take anything away from this video, but I made my own crank adapter by buying a basic crank from a local supply, measuring it to fit both my cordless drill and the cranking ratchet and then cutting it to fit. Works great. Total cost was less than $9.00.
Would love to see a video on interior lighting. We really want dimmer lights and have been eyeing your dimmer light unit, but I'm not sure what goes into swapping them out. I'm also not sure we want to give up the quarter jack that allows us to put a light inside the actual bunk end if we want.
You mentioned avoiding an impact driver. It doesn't seem that any of my drills have enough torque to actually life the roof. Why would you recommend avoiding an impact driver or impact wrench?
Sounds good! Please remember it’s not a fox for hard to raise roofs. When your lift system is in good order, you should be able to raise the roof with either hand effortlessly.
Hey Derek Smith I just bought my first camper. It is an Coleman/Fleetwood Utah Grand Tour with the dinette slide out. It does not have the inside shower just an outside one. I cant find any video's or any help with the water system. I have an hot water heater, pump also has the holding tank. When I fill the holding tank full and have water hooked up to the city water port I don't get no running water in the sink. When I turn the water pump on I can hear it working but nothing comes out the sink. If you can please help or guide me where I can find help. Thank you
Remember, hard to raise issues are not fixed with these adapters. Foot pounds of torque never exceeded 100 lb on any model. If you camper is hard to raise, please research thrust bearings.
I recommend volts as opposed to torque. 18 to 20 volt drills will stay within the acceptable torque ratings for the crank systems. I do not recommend that you go higher than 20, and never us an impact.
I have a Coleman fleetwood mesa with ac on top. I tried to use a drill but not even close to opening it. I’ve checked the waffle tree and replace all the pulleys but still very hard to open. Any suggestions ?
I bought the drill adapter and the pin in my camper is too far back for it to engage (I have a 2010 Element Cobalt). I just want to know the easiest way to get the drill adapter to work.
If you are referencing the tool that is used in this video, it is called a cordless drill crank adapter. Here is a direct link to the item. colemanpopupparts.com/products/new-style-cordless-drill-crank-adapter If you are referencing the drill socket, this is called the drill "chuck"
The Taos should be very easy, due to the size. About 80 foot pounds of torque at the handle should be all that is required. Check out the maintenance video if you have not already. If it’s been like this since new, the thrust bearing may be installed backwards.
What type of Cordless Drills has worked for you? My 1/2" Porter Cable 20 volt doesn't have the torque to handle the job. I purchased a Hitichi 1/2 " 9 amp plug in drill with side handle that almost too powerful and cumbersome to take on a trip. Any Suggests for brands. Thanks
Good question William. I recommend 18v or higher. If your 20 won’t raise the roof, your lift system likely needs some TLC. A bad thrust bearing is a common culprit for hard to crank issues that greasing did not fix.
Hopefully at colemanpopupparts.com very soon! A tractor trailer is scheduled to leave from this manufacturer to us today 8-31-20. We hope that these adapters are included in this shipment.

Great tip Str8proud! thanks for sharing.
I would love to see a video replacing the old cranking rachet in a 1981 Fleetwood with an updated direct drive unit.
Please do video trouble shooting current limiter for lift system.😊

Noted! I will put on the to do list the ceiling light upgrade with an extra power jack.
@@popupcamperpro does the dimmable light unit (the one with a knob) have the extra jack?
It does not. You can add a jack next to them.
You mentioned avoiding an impact driver. It doesn't seem that any of my drills have enough torque to actually life the roof. Why would you recommend avoiding an impact driver or impact wrench?
Sounds like your lift system is out of specs. Please see the information we have covering this in the product description at the website
I was about to give up solo camping in my Coleman because it has been difficult to raise. I will purchase this and let you know if it performed well.

How can I raise a 1993 jayco 1206 without the drive hub, spring & slotted nut. I have the crank handle but cant find those parts
I would fabricate a crank adapter for this camper Adrian. A local metal shop should be able to for you as well.
as soon as i get my pop up i want one.
Your gonna love it!
I have a 2006 Fleetwood Utah camper, which cordless drill adapter do I need? Opening inches below bed not on bumper. Thank you.

Odd. You might just have a pinched feed line the sink. Do you have water at the water heater tank, and the outside shower?
HOW DO YOU REMOVE AND REPLACE ALUM CURTAIN TRACK IN AN OLDER COLEMAN
I will put this video request on the list to do. They are most commonly tek screwed or pop riveted to the roof
What model of drill are you using? Seems like not just any old cordless drill will work for cranking the roof up.
Remember, hard to raise issues are not fixed with these adapters. Foot pounds of torque never exceeded 100 lb on any model. If you camper is hard to raise, please research thrust bearings.
Your website says these are sold out. When will you have more available? Thank you!
Susan E they will be coming back soon!
What’s the torque requirement for the drill?

You likely require a new thrust bearing.
What type of metal is the drive hub pin made of? Can I cut the end off with a saws all?
They are steel. Maybe just some rubber caps would work as well. If you still want to cut them, use a hacksaw. Saws alls are kinda destructive.
I bought the drill adapter and the pin in my camper is too far back for it to engage (I have a 2010 Element Cobalt). I just want to know the easiest way to get the drill adapter to work.
@@popupcamperpro What do you mean by rubber caps? Sorry, I'm a newbie.
@@tiffanyn6053 search for 3/16 rubber caps at your local hardware stores.

Would this work on a 2004 Fleetwood Bayside Grand touring ElitE?
It should! Just following the measuring guides to assure compatibility.

I have been waiting months. Should I stop trying? Are you not going to carry this anymore?
We apologize, availability for parts have been difficult to say the least this year. We are working on a new plan B for this adapter.
why not make a longer one so it works with everything?
Sure! If I start making them I would do this.
OUt of stock on 7/9/2020. Do you know when it will be back in stock?
Hopefully very soon Brian!
What adapter would you recommend for a Coachmen style that has the square (7/8in I believe) handle?
Hello Michael! I will have to put this product in my to do list and see if I can source this adapter.
I lost my crank.... where can I buy one for a coleman Tacoma fleetwood

How do you replace the drive hub pin?
Brace the extension tube, then drive the pin out with a punch.
