    You’re a life saver my man!! I didn’t know that the cable adjustment was 1.5 inches for every hole. My pop up was slouched to one side badly because I didn’t put the pin in the correct hole when I changed the wire.

    I have a Coleman Utah pop-up. I recently did the maintenance on the lift system - greasing the cables and silicone spraying all of the pulleys. While I was under the pop-up I noticed that one side of the wires was tight and the other side had some play in it. I won’t say that they were loose but they were not tight like the other side. I looked at other videos by you and saw that you can adjust the bolt to tighten those wires. I have the type of lift cables that are bolt not loop.
    Here’s my question - Can being on an uneven surface make the cables look tight or not tight? My driveway is not completely level and that’s where I checked it. I don’t want to tighten it so that they’re both taught and cause a problem because if they were flat they would be taught. Does that make sense?

    • @popupcamperpro
      @popupcamperpro  Год назад

      They all should be at the same tension. I would defiantly recommend leveling it first, then checking again and adjusting if needed while level.

    With the cable systems, what issue would cause the roof to not crank up all of the way?

    • @popupcamperpro
      @popupcamperpro  2 года назад

    Derek, I called yesterday and left you a message, I have a 2006 fleetwood destiny seapine. I have replaced all cables,wiffletree and lower crank. When connecting the cables back to the draw bar, do I reconnect with the top up or down? Also how much tension should I put on the cables on the draw bar?

    • @popupcamperpro
      @popupcamperpro  2 года назад +1

      Typically the top is up when your attaching the cables. They should be tight when installed. You can find some examples of these answers in our cable replacement videos Tim.

    Ok, i understand where to adjust the roof in the whiffle tree with the roof down. My question is that my roof is lower on the side where the door is,so does the cable at each lift bracket the one i adjust? Short and long? I dont want to over adjust and break a cable. I cant find anyone in my area to work on these things..thanks

    Hey Derrick, did I spell your name correctly? First, thank you!
    My '97 Taos was (like everyone else's) hard to crank up. I greased the WT with the proper grease, then replaced the cover and re-tested it. It's even HARDER to raise now. Almost impossible. All the cables are on the pulleys and still routed properly. What is/could be the problem and how do i fix it? Full disclosure, which MAY be part of the problem, I removed the crank assembly black box bolts (not sure oof the proper name of this box but it's the box that is over the crank shaft) before I greased the WT..I probably didn't need to do this but it's done now and it's very hard to seat back down onto the base. I have to push really hard just to get the bolts in there to tighten it back down. I've loosened it and tried to wiggle it left and right so the crank shaft will fit back where it supposed to and then tried to tighten it again but to be candid, I'm not sure if it's where it needs to be. And when I removed the bolts, the box won't come all the way off the crank shaft ( I'm guessing it's designed not to) towards the bumper....ie- I can't see what's going on in there because the space is so small. I have the lift system manual but as you know, it's just diagrams which wasn't that helpful.Thoughts?
