Is it possible the clutch friction piece could be too oily & slippery and not provide enough friction to lower the top? My camper went up OK but now the crank doesn't seem to provide any resistance and does nothing.

I have what looks like this crank assembly but it’s in the middle of the bumper. Is this possible?

This unit is only used in 12 foot box models, from 2000 to 2002 Tim. Always to left of center.

So I just got the shaft. Got everything back together but it doesn’t seem to turn the gear with the catch. Any suggestions?
