    Did this today on my wife’s pathfinder that differential was such a pain. No room but 2 12” extensions and a 3/8” wobble i was able to get the full plug off with better leverage past the crossmember. Again pain.. just no room, got it done. For the rear i removed the spare for more room and better access to fill plug. Thanks for the video.

    You got it backward the pan on the pass side is for engine and the one on driver side is transmission

    Couple important things to address. You swapped transmission pan and engine pan, engine oil pan is the bowl looking one on passenger side and tranny pan is driver side, obviously don't drop your tranny oil when you want to change engine oil. On the rear differential you called the fill/overflow hole the drain hole and were surprised when oil didn't come out, it shouldn't lol. Super important, both of those gear oils should be gl-4 for hypoid gears, using standard gear oil is not good for the hypoid gear inside either the transfer case or the differential.

    • @fartpluswetone8077
      @fartpluswetone8077 Месяц назад

      Are you sure it's GL-4? The owner's manual for this car says GL-5. Most GL-5 gear oils you can find are both full synthetic and designed with Hypoid gears in mind.
