That 68 was kickass going thru those cones.
One major difference that should be accounted for. The new Camaro got its "Soul" from Australia and the 68 got its "Soul" from Motor City Michigan.
I just realised how this channel is only composed of these kind of 'track' test videos, week in reviews and some auto show updates.
that cam timing on that 68 is bliss
Very impressive! The steering wheel in the 68 is massive!
Love the camera angle you guys found for the slalom course.
I like both but the 68 still stands true to American muscle car none of the safety emisions crap
Cool, that's a clean '68 Camaro. I always wanted one of those.
There's this guy in my neighborhood with a 68 camaro, and in person i'm sorry but no modern camaro can compare. The 68 just looks and sounds like pure awesome.
.93 lateral acceleration for such an old car is incredible number!
What suspension mods?
wow, in 43 years, only breaking has improved a lot
I wonder what modifications that '68 Camaro is sporting. Tires and suspension for shure.
What engine did the '68 have?
My grandpa has three 1970 camaro ss in his garage . One day one of them will be mine
I love your Job.
I love how they always do comparisons with cars that have thousands of dollars in upgrades. I'd be willing to bet the 68 had an LS engine. Both are really amazing cars either way, just hard to compare cars that aren't stock.
I was amazed by how close the numbers were.....
can somebody tell me how much horsepower a 2012 camaro ss has
Would like to see a parts list of whats in the 68. I`d be proud to have either of these sweet rides in my garage!
YESSS it posted :D
I wonder if they ever considered just taking the body style of a '68 and direct-copying it with modern safety/emissions/engine improvements? I'm sure they'd sell nicely.
Bruno TaTa they sale nicely ss they are
Both are nice but that 68 looks soooo much better in every test.
I want both!!!
I think i see what theyre doing here. I think theyre asking would u prefer a stock 2011 or a modified 68 that could roll with a 2011
good reference for car,i like both
holy shit, this little nerds voice LOL I thought I was playing at 1.5x at first
You can't tell me i'm wrong when I say the first gen is an LS7.. Correct? i'm good with sounds
I agree with you there buddy.
NICE! I love the '68 Camaro. The new ones looks like Hotwheels cars with the "gunslit windows, huge wheels, and huge hood cowl. Looks way too exaggerated, just like a car made for a movie for kids. The '68 is just right.
Love that 2010!
Love the sound of 69'
Bro si me dan esa oportunidad de elegir el del 68 con el Camaro del 2010 elijo los dos y lo meto en mi colección Bro
Even though most slightly tuned Camaro's will beat this 68, I would still have it over any.
both cars are awesome! but i would buy the new one, because its a bit more comfortable and i could use it while bad weather conditions. the 68 is a classic, that should only be seen by the sun!
the 68 model looks and sounds so much better
The 68 sounds awesome. Seeing them side by side, I thought the 2011 started to look a bit goofy for some reason
'68 rs is a dream car
Tuned did this a week or so ago but actually made it entertaining.... Matt Farah for FTW
I'd take the 1968 one, just for the looks and the engine sound.
I WANT THE 70 CHEVELLE NEXT!!
i just perfer the 1968 classic american muscle.. it looks better and sounds fantastic
68 Camaro - 12 Camaro. Now on to the news, rumor has it that Chrysler's brand Dodge plans to replace the Challenger with the Barracuda. Possible that Chrysler is approaching in the return of the Plymouth brand and could we see a revival of the Roadrunner? Who knows.
The 68 sure sounded mean in the 1/4 mile run.
the suspension is an hotchkis tvs stage 2 setup
queria ver esse camaro 68 vs Maverick GT V8, sera qual o melhor ? rsrs
I've had both Camaro's still own a 2010 dont know how you can be a hater of either love them both.
You are correct how can you hate one but love the other Chevy for life
It's sex with wheels
@Inklebonker1 It's a modified '68 camaro. If it was stock that thing would be runing 14's in the 1/4 mile.
’68 Camaro is heavily modified just to keep up with a stock 2011. Anything can be modified. How much money you got and how fast do you want to go? You’d never get a stock ‘68 to run that good.
Yea but how much did the 68 camaro cost?
Live axle, leaf springs, box steering and still shows it how it's done.
@Sampson712 even so, it was closer than I expected. I like the old one better but stock I'm pretty sure it would get crushed in most areas except the 1/4 mile. Who knows though...
The 68 Camaro has almost no body roll, imagine it being that good back in the day...
The Camaro and Mustang are some very fine cars, the old oane I mean, they are so cool and have muscle.
i want that 68 camaro!
@EZlover415 +1 . I'm with ya on that!
omg the 1969 chevy yenko camara427/450 hp is my dream car.
my 2nd pick would be a nissan gt-r m spec nur. 330+hp
comparing apples with lemons ! lol .
@obscuresword That's right because at 69, they have to turn around.
Do it again with stock versions.
surprising the skidpad the 68 did better. very cool.
@Nightakula they both were modified...the 68' had pretty much everything the 11' had
that just goes to show that old may be a lil bit faster the old are still right behind him and they ran the same 1/4 mile time of a 12.6
I don't care what you did to it. I'll take the 68 every time! Heck it even sounds better!!! No school like the old school.
Both cars were modified (one more than the other). So I vote for the new Camaro simpy because it was a tied on everything but the engine sound. I actually like the agressive purr of the modern Chevrolet engines (LS3, LS7, LS9, LS-A, etc) instead of the vulgar thrashing noises of the old Camaro (it was supercharged, maybe the exhaust was too). New Camaro FTW!
i would take the 68 Camaro because its a classic
the 1st Camaro and Corvette c3 - best american cars ever

1st gen > 70-73 2nd gen > 4th gen > 3rd gen > 74-81 2nd gen > 5th gen. That's just me.
@Lambo6fo ....then just use logic. 43 year old leaf spring suspension brick vs modern day car. What's there to compare?
This is a much more interesting and fair comparison in my book. A modernized old school vs its modern counterpart.
stock vs stock please
They do this with the gt500, they modify it into a mach mustang! Look it up on google!!
@biggboy73 I think it's because the new Camaro doesn't look like a Camaro from any angle other than the front.
I like them both but whats the point comparing a mod car? I mean you could mod a VW GTI to beat a ferrari if you had enough money.
Put the 2011 engine in the 1968 and let's see some magic.
id take the 2011 one, for I bumble bee is just my role model.
@SerenityBeast thats what I was thinking hahaha.
It did all the stuff that the modern Camaro did because it is a modern Camero with a 1968 body, that's all...aside from the visual appearance the car is no longer a 68 Camero...and about the soul...once you basically gutted the 68 you took the soul right out of it.
everyday use?? - the 2011 model
runnin from the law?? - the '68
:D
the '68 is so fast!
mmm I would love that 68 :)
@FidiAdrianosTV Did you listen to the intro ... 68 camaro with a modern powertrain and supercharger , why even compare modified cars ? These are the good old days , American and otherwise . ZR1 , GTR etc. , enjoy it while we have it :-)
what soul?? both cars have been fitted with aftermarket parts
I'll take the OG Camaro every time! New gens are a dime a dozen. Tired of setting them joints already.
The Camaro, brought back from the grave, definitely looks better and feels more solid than the unreliable, over-sized 80's/90's crap.
68 camaro over powers the looks of the new camaro!
@SerenityBeast Lots of products aren't any better than they were 40 years ago not to mention made as well as they were. Ironic considering older technology and no computers to help design anything back then.
Neither of these cars have soul really but I'd rather have one that is, at heart, a Camaro and not an Australian car with a new body.
I honestly can't stand how big the new camaro is >.< even the smaller mustang is too big for my taste, they really should all go on diets. 3000lb sounds about right.
So after 44 years it's almost the same car.
I hope everyone realizes that's not a "stock" '69 Camaro.
The newer one looks a lot bulkier, that's true
does anyone do reviews for good used cars, modern classics and cars that maybe classics in the future?
its very easy to take the best of the past and the present and make a video with some tries screeching.what's difficult is making practical, useful, relevant content. with so many car magazines and shows one would think that someone would address common myths of car ownership, costs, mileage and reliability in used cars and compare korean, japanese european american cars for under 5,8,10,15k
Sometimes it's the driver
The '68 is more 'cool' IMO :)
@obscuresword
They're similar because that '68 isn't original, they even said so in the video. The originals though fast their 0-60 times were between 5.8 and 6.2s and had 1/4 mile times of anywhere in the mid 13's and high 14's. But I agree for some reason cars today have no charisma I mean these new camaro's are definitely cool but the cars of the muscle car era had something that other cars today don't.Personally my favorite year for Camaro's are the1978-1981 styles.
New one seems to big and bulky, I prefer the way the '68 looks more shapely and sporty. Both sex
I vote for the new model Camaro
@savagejoego both camaros are modded. stock vs stock is a whole nother story.
@Charger5001968 lateral-gDOTnet is the site
