  • Hello! What is asexuality? Watch, and I'll tell you.
    Sorry about the terrible camera focus... I needed to get this video done today and couldn't bring myself to re-film the whole thing. Again, apologies.
    Here is the link to AVEN's site where I got the definition presented in the video: www.asexuality.org/?q=overvie...
    Have a lovely day and be sure to tell an ace in the universe that you love them!

    I'm so glad you differentiated sexual desire from sexual attraction and spoke about reasons aces might have for having sex. I am asexual and experience a sexual desire (because, y'know, I have a sex drive) and I have sex with my boyfriend because of this reason (also because I love him romantically). And a lot of the times I feel like I question if I actually am asexual because I experience this sexual desire and I act on it with someone I love. But I act on it because I love him romantically, not because I am sexually attracted to him. It feels like this sort of thing is left out in ace discussions or ignored or not spoken about because people don't seem to think you can have sex as an asexual or desire it or want to have sex with someone if you're asexual. I don't see enough people talking about it. I liked your cake analogy a lot it really resonated with me.

    I am definitely Bi, but I hold space for the ace community. I think it's beautiful defining and explaining all of these different experiences, some of which I have been through.

    what does normal sexuality look like? do allo people feel sexual attraction to everyone, someone once a day or once a week? Im confused as to the actual difference 🤔

    • @SpaceyAces
      @SpaceyAces  2 года назад +7

      Good question. If you're into people, and it's not an irregular experience for you, you may just be allo. You could also watch our video "Describe Sexual Attraction | Aces Asking Sex Questions" to hear what allosexual people say attraction feels like, and how regularly they feel it.

    At the age of almost thirty, I discovered last year that I might be on the asexual spectrum. However I often times doubtet myself, because I couldn‘t quite figure out the difference between sexual attraction and sexual desire. Your videos have been the first I saw to clearly differenciate between the two and explain them. Thanks to that I am now pretty sure that I actually never really felt sexually attracted to anyone - and therefore for the first time feel ok to label myself as part of the ace community 😌

    2:21 Your adorable smile when describing how asexuality (like sexuality in general) is on a SPECTRUM 😍 -- BTW, does it offend you to be complimented? It certainly doesn't offend me if someone isn't attracted to me (regardless their sexuality), so I never expect my compliments to be returned, you don't OWE me anything, but I wanna know if it bothers you (or whomever else I might compliment), so I can be a more "lovely human."

      I don’t mind compliments at all! It may seem self-absorbed, but I actually have quite a fixation on hearing how others perceive me because I never really know. Thanks for the complement, lovely human! ❤️

    Hey Spacey Aces. I am asexual too so I'm in the Ace Club, YAAY !! I came out a year ago now and know I'm ace and know that this is my path in life. My asexuality is finding people attractive but in a romantic way NOT in a sexual way So that still makes me Ace, right ? Also do all Aces wear the black rings ? I ask because I'm one of those who wears one but I do see other Aces either in Pride events or RUclips videos not wearing one.

    Do asexual people feel comfortable when ppl make jokes about sex?

    • @SpaceyAces
      @SpaceyAces  2 года назад +8

      Depends on the asexual person. Some don’t, some do. Usually this has to do with one’s level of sex repulsion/aversion, and those who are more sex neutral or sex favourable are more likely to be just fine hearing sex jokes. Although, many sex averse aces may be just fine with it as well and simply not like it when directed at themselves or in other specific scenarios. Every ace is different! Thanks for the question, hopefully I answered well.
