Unfortunately, this is a completely dead art thanks to AI.
Depends on the motive. An artist will still want to express themselves and you can't get AI to do that for you. But in film production, I think you're right. And more troubling is I think AI images are far more interesting and arresting than 99.99% than human made art. I'm regularly blown away by what ai produces and almost never by traditional art. And i say that as a fiction writer so I'm supposed to be on the side of the artists
Tell me you don't know what concept art is without saying you don't know what concept art is.
People like you magnify AI's usability to levels it's not actually at. Actual 2d concept art is still very useful.
