This commercial is almost 30 years old and seems more modern, creative and clever than much of the advertising being done now. The 90’s was such a unique time.

This commercial certainly wasn't offensive or edgy, so wanting to be more politically correct is not a valid excuse for a lack of creativity or poor writing. Also, feminism has existed long before you were probably born, and so have the "feminists with a PHD in English". It definitely existed in the 90s and was already affecting the media. It's got nothing to do with feminism. It doesn't matter what your political views are. If you have very little time to think of something good or are not good at thinking up of good ideas, your commercials are gonna be boring regardless.
I remember watching this commercial as a kid going, what the heck is going on. Till I realized the rabbit was finally going to get trix.I was shocked. I only clued in at the end it was a milk commercial when he pulled out his milk.
Another clue was how there was a piece of text at the bottom of the screen when he started pouring the cereal saying how it was a sponsorship between the milk association
They actually did let "Silly Rabbit" have the Trix ONE time... back in the 1970s. They let the kids in the real world vote on if he should have the Trix or not. And they said yes. ^v^

That's sadly true. But sometimes the CGI can look pretty obvious like in Tom and Jerry 2021 and Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers. So if you want the 2D animation illusion it's better to just use 2D animation.

I like how the Rabbit chose Harlan Williams to look normal. Like he knew he couldn't pull off conventional normal, but Harlan is just off enough without being weird or drawing too much attention to himself. That he could pull off.

And don't get me started about "The power of cheese". I didn't see Mouse Hunt because of this weird campaign and Kingpin's ear-bleeding suave voice. However, I got over most of "Got Milk?" after seeing how truly funny it was. I don't remember, but I probably cried to my mommy after seeing THIS AD when I was little. Commodity marketing is something I'm mostly against. Except the iconic "California Raisins" campaign. It fueled Motown nostalgia, even beyond "I Heard it through the Grapevine" when it went beyond advertising.
