The best part about K. Rool is that he managed to have more personality than other core Nintendo villains when he was invented. Namely Bowser.

This is the point though- almost all the characters have movesets based on their origins.
Except Captain Falcon because we don't see him do much outside of his vehicle, and Ganondorf because... Reasons.

Just imagine a DKLC of previous DK Characters and the addition of K.Rool.
Did you know the character sprites for the DK country games for snes and gameboy were actually 3d models but then were converted into sprites, which is why they look 3d.

I think the gameboy version looks worse on the video, looks like a pixel-art scaling algorithm was used and it was chosen poorly.

I love with smash did with him. His fighting style has the perfect blend of the feeling you are playing as a violent animal and a cartoon character, fitting all the wackiness he has been involved in.
It's hard to believe that not counting his appearance as a trophy and costume in Smash 4, K. Rool hasn't made an appearance in any game in 10 years!
This is outrageous,its unfair How can he be DK's nêmesis and not appear in 10 years?
He looked really good in DK64 Cutscenes. Big eyes that had red lines in them to make him look insane.

I would have to say King K Rool is hands down the smartest villain in Nintendo’s history here’s why:
Donkey Kong Country: Just met the Kong’s and did not understand their potential as enemies therefore lost but put up a good fight along by giving a false sense of victory
Donkey Kong Country 2: After losing in DKC 1 he realized that Donkey Kong was the leader and a strong one at that therefore kidnapping him and testing new technologies like his gun that can fire, suck, and propel himself forward. Ended up backfiring in the end.
Donkey Kong Country 3: Kidnaps both Kong’s for good measure and increases his technologies by adding a jet pack so he can’t get jumped on or shot at easily, still loses but is slowly evolving.
Donkey Kong 64: Puts his smarts aside to test his raw power against the Kong’s, sure he cheats in the fight, but the Kong’s do cheat as well using guns, size change, and other objects when K Rool just used his raw power and some boxing gloves
Skipping to smash ultimate since he does not technically “fight” after dk 64, and this time around he combines everything making his wins dependent on spacing and defense
So thats why he is a top tier

BotW Ganon or Twilight Princess Ganon tho, they can't really learn from past experiences since they are reborn (same with Link & Zelda) but how TP Ganon used the Twilight Realm and Botw Ganon took over the divine beasts and guardians. (Could explain in full detail but too lazy)

Even today I am amazed at how beautiful and advanced for the times, the graphics of DKC for Snes were. I know it's supposed to be a 16 Bit game, but it really looks like it has 32 Bit. Undoubtedly one of the best graphics for that console.

King K. Rool’s trailer utterly gave me chills when I first saw it.
If you think about it, the King K Rool trailer opening was pretty smart. First off: Sakurai voices King Dedede, and seeing how Dedede trolled DK and Diddy, think of it as DK and Diddy are us, the audience and King Dedede is the devs.

Actually, he does. If you look a bit more closely at K. Rool’s ingame Smash model, you’ll see that he still possesses a tail of some sort. It’s just a tad bit shorter than the ones that are present in his Donkey Kong Country incarnations.
He has a short tail due to the fact that some people might have expected him to have a tailwhip attack of some sort, then be pissed off when they find out he doesn’t.
I would LOVE if they made his outfit from Super Sluggers a skin in Ultimate!

I love the subtle hints you had used Save states by hearing the Interruptions of music, the Pause sounds when you hadn't paused, and the implication you tried not to before giving up since the initial cut-scene you see when you first fight K.rool in the second game didn't play, which only happens if you die against him... Which you will, because he's not easy.
This is by far one of the coolest bad guys, but I’m sure a lot of dk fans can agree on this.....

As a gamer from just after the 16 bit era, I actually am going to say I think the 5mash Movie presentation is head and shoulders above all his previous appearances
That first K.Rool boss battle music from DKC 1 is one of my fave video game tracks ever. In fact, the whole soundtrack was 10/10.

I love his smash reveal because in previous games he's generally fairly composed, relatively speaking, and has some elaborate plan and setup for his fight. In the smash trailer his cape is ripped and he doezn't have his minions, he's not in a costume... he is there with purpose, beat the shit out of Donkey Kong. It's a weird progression of character that we're seeing in a smash game of all things.
