Last week, Nintendo dropped a fat bomb on us by announcing that fan-favorite King K. Rool would be appearing in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for the Nintendo Switch.
Obviously, people are already calling him a good addition in the bad guys team. The thing is : King K Rool is definitely not a villain. And today, you will learn why!

Think of it this way... if in Donkey Kong, DK is the Villain and Mario is the Hero, and you take that over to DK Country, K. Rool is Mario's ally because he is fighting Donkey Kong.

I know these are just supposed to be amusing, so thanks for the fun. That said...
Regardless of whether you are crazy or in pain, blowing up an island and killing everyone on it is unequivocally wrong. If he really does have a psychological disorder or an eye infection, that could make him more sympathetic, but he's still evil.
Also, K. Rool DOES cheat. In virtually every game, he fakes defeat and then attacks while his opponent is distracted. Also, in the boxing match in DK64, he also uses boomerang boxing gloves, so the Kongs are not the only ones cheating here. That said, the only rule of fighting is that there are no rules, so that doesn't really say much for his character either way.
So, yeah, don't take any of that too seriously, but those are my thoughts.

I actually agree why would he want something he dislikes. He is a king for crying outside. He distracts them for resources to fix the rollor coasters in his kingdom that have killed people that rode it. But only time his pride and reputation has been ruined by the kongs to the point that he even lost his kingdom(aka diddy destroyed it) he went insane because how much was taken away from him. Heck he had to legit cry and put up a act to make his army do something for him(and mind you this was before the events dk64)
If king k rool ever returns, we are not dealing with a guy that has pride of his race. We are gonna deal with a mad man that just wants to destroy his enemies out of pure anger that he has against the Kongs

That was never officially stated, just a very popular fan theory. Also, several of his kremlings were seen eating bananas
King K Rool is, actually, a villain. He not only specifically states that he as well as most other Kremlings, hate bananas, but also literally tried to blow up an entire alien planet just because they looked kinda like bananas, and because DK was on it. He also states numerous times how evil he is and how much he loves it. He’s a villain, and that’s part of what makes him such a great character. Having said that, this is still a really good video and some of the points you make are pretty compelling.

Next Donkey Kong game, I want King K. in it as an antagonist. He's like Dedede in the newer Kirby games, like Star Allies. He's bad at first, but once you defeat him and knock some sense into him, he actually decides to tag along with DK and the gang. I also think it would be really cool to see other specific Kremling characters, like Krunch.

Yes... and do you know on how I got this enlightenment/realization that many, _many, _*_many_* media companies - especially when it comes to Western (i.e. Disney) and culturally Westernized non-Western media companies (i.e. Nintendo) - are bigoted (racist/species-ist) towards reptiles and lizards??? It was back in 2013 when The LEGO Company/Warner Bros. released the LEGO Legends of CHIMA toy product line and the related animated T.V. series, where the Crocodile Tribe was being portrayed as "bad guys"/villains for the first year/T.V. show season - to which I was heavily *_traumatized_* there as an adult (who also so happens to like LEGO products) for several months!!! *_Therefore, I now have a_*_ _*_*ZERO*_*_ _*_tolerance policy when it comes to media companies in being bigoted towards crocodilians (crocodiles, alligators, caimans, gharials/gavials)!!!_* 😠😠😠

Alright, let's do this. (Keep in mind I am doing this completely for fun, as I know your video isn't serious and is for fun. Im just doing this for fun too, so no hard feelings. Thanks for the great video and keep it up :D )
Your first point is correct to a degree. However they "took" the Kong's banana horde which is seen in later games to be magical bananas. I doubt they spoil. Even if taking the bananas wasn't a villain thing. They assaulted and kidnapped Diddy Kong. Putting him in a tiny barrel and leaving him for dead.
Second point is incorrect. K. Rool did all the same things the other two did. He wasn't just chilling on his boat. He was sending Kremlings to all corners of the island occupying it. There is an entire world (World 5) called Kremkroc industries which is basically a piece of the island ruined by pollution because K. Rool established factories and such there. Referring back to point 1 real quick. The ship is so far away in the beginning of the game that you can't even see it til around world 3 when it starts coming into view in the distance. That mixed with the fact you couldn't set up a factory and pollute a section of an entire island overnight makes it seem like K. Rool had been here a while, but the Kongs basically tunnel vision on the Kongo Jungle, so they saw nothing. This was all premeditated by K. Rool, not an act of starvation.
Point 3 is just..... like you needed some padding for the argument. Because, yes, when Im tired, cranky, irritated, uncomfortable, and stressed out of my mind, I contemplate mass genocide and actually go through with it. I thought you were going to go with he had some mental illnes. Or the illness he had needed to be treated, so he needed the magic bananas... or something.
Point 4. I don't know enough about the mental illness to say, but if all his "identities" want to kidnap/murder the kong family, then I think there may be some underlying desire that can't be explained away by this. Like, if ONE did, then sure, but all of them?
Point 5 doesn't really make sense. Everything in New Donk is named after "villains." One must remember that in the Mario universe, Donkey Kong was a villain himself. Hell the city is named after the dude who kidnapped the mayor all those years ago. I think it's a more of a history thing than a respect thing.
Point 6 is like saying every villain in the Nintendo verse isn't a villain because they are in Smash or Mario Kart or Mario Party etc etc. The villains may join up for a greater purpose or to prove they are better than the one they hate. I guess you could think of Crash Team Racing as a good example of this.
Final Point is interesting. It was his last shot to get the Kongs. This wasn't good sportsmanship, it was turning the odds in his favor again. When he first showed up he wanted to blow Kong island off the face of the map, but due to power problems and the device not being completely functional, he had to wait. By the time it was ready to fire, Snide jammed the signal for firing, and the Kongs stormed Hideout Helm. With his ship under siege soon to be captured by the Kongs, he abandoned ship (not even going down with his crew), and ran off to fight again another day. Karma showed up and bit him in the ass though as K. Lumsy brings his ship to a crashing halt. In a last ditch effort to win his bout against the Kongs, he tricked them into a 1V1 boxing match rather than letting them all gang up on him. While I will admit the Kongs were kind of playing outside the rules, K Rools croneys were constantly ending the rounds early to save K. Rool from knockouts losing him the match. At the very end when Chunky finally claims victory, he still tries to assault him and land a fatal blow. That is until the power of boners is stronger and Candy saves the day.
...As a DK fan since 2000 (around when I was 4), I can't wait to see what K. Rool does in smash, and I hope this means something big for him is coming. Again, no hard feelings, I was just doing this "counter-argument" for fun. I wasn't trying to be like "You're stupid, meh meh meh" or anything like that. Just having a bit of fun :)

For me I think king k rool toke the bananas to distract Dk and Diddy from their mining operations to get resources to fix rollor coasters that have killed people in the pase since it was dangerous. At the end he lost his pride, his reputation(that he tried to regain multiple times but failed), and even the "source of all kremlings" aka his..... kingdom? To the point that he snap into insanity to get revenge at the kongs because he lost so much of being a king. Heck just look at some of the kremlings in dk64 they are skinny as hell, they tried to backstab him, and crash the the island to a rock at the beginning of the game.
Surely you can understand how piseed he is towards the kongs to the point he doesnt want them to exist.

The perfect not-villain ever.

Something like that it works on Bowser and Wario since their actually two of the seven stars heroes, and maybe even for Mario and the others since they wore the bad guy role. But this about K. Don't forget, King K Rool also mentioned about his "Wife" And it was never revealed who it was, But strangely in some characters wiki, One known as Kalypso the female Kremling, has an description that says "It was implied that K.Rool has a wife, however it is unknown if he was joking or serious" which i think personally in some way, Kalypso is his secret wife or his future wife....
So I guess we'll ignore the fact Wrinkle Kong said he use to be a student in Kong Kollege that only wanted to learn about taking down the Kongs in DKC3? Or the fact he kidnapped DK in DKC2 demanding for the Banana Horde despite hating bananas?
I hardly saw him in my head as an actual villain, but, Somewhere, My mind was changed otherwise due to everything K Rool's ever done. I can probably see him against Bowser since they practically compare.

Ok, I respect the fact you are trying to speak your mind but I disagree King K Rool is a villain because it has been stated by many sources that he didn't want to eat the Bananas from the Kongs he wanted to take all the Bananas to starve them. Point 1: K. Rool still stole D.K.’s bananas, and none of the kremlins seems hungry. And even if they are, they still could have asked D.K. for bananas instead of taking/stealing them.
Point 2: Just because he hasn’t attacked in years, that doesn’t mean that he hasn’t attacked at all. Even though he was on his ship for Donkey Kong Country, he sent out all of the kremlins to take the island over. That counts.
Point 3: K. Rool having a big eye in Donkey Kong 64 is the art/modeling style of that game, and not because he’s sick. What other evidence is there that he’s sick in that game?
Point 4: even if K. Rool has a disorder like the one you mentioned, that doesn’t make him innocent. He still did all of the things that he did, and he decided to do those things himself.
Point 5: “People respecting him” is just people who are fans of his character. If he was real, the only people that would respect him are the kremlins. A street named after him in New Donk City is just a reference to him because the city is based around Donkey Kong.
Point 6: Him playing baseball is just him being n included character in a spin-off game, and him taking part in the barrel-blasting league doesn’t mean that him and his kremlins were invited. They probably just took part to win whatever prize there was.
Point 7: The D.K. Crew doing their abilities in the final boss of Donkey Kong 64 is actually kind-of fair because otherwise, they would have no way of beating K. Rool. But if he is fair, then think about how he would have put items that go with the D.K. Crew’s abilities are in the arena. That wouldn’t be cheating from the D.K. Crew’s part.
Seriously, there is tons of proof against our points. Re-think it if you want to prove his innocence.

First off, he is a villain, although not the most threatening... An interesting one though. However, I didn't think his schemes save for DKC2 would profit him in any way. But there may be a method and motive to his madness.
1. The Bananas: If bananas were more rare, they would be worth a lot more, especially the bananas of DK's island which never seem to expire. That's got to be worth something.
2. Conquest and Land Grab. He want's to conquer DK isle. Perhaps it has resources they want or need to thrive. Perhaps the land is rich and fertile. The jungles and forests of DK isle are lush and full of life. Crocodile Isle is anything but that. You have shores of jagged rocks, filthy swamps, haunted forests, an active volcanic hotspot, an amusement park where the star attraction is the world's biggest wasp hive, (which I'm sure the Kremlings are breeding.) Even the mines of Crocodile Isle show little precautions taken. The mines of Kong Island look like they were carved out carefully, while the mines dug by the Kremlings appear to have been rushed and look as if they could collapse at any moment, being excavated with random dynamite blasts in the wall, as seen by the holes. Even the frozen glaciers of both islands have a contrast. DK isle is probably worth a lot more.
3. Bananas part TWO: So he comes back with a mobile island. And it has a built-in laser cannon. Why would he want to blow up Kong Island? If he has the bananas, he holds the means to produce them. Once he has what he needs, destroying the island would guarantee the value of his bananas goes way UP. DK isle is the Fort Knox of that Rare ( pun intended ) variety of banana.
4. He's surrounded by yes-men, because he likely imprisons or kills those who aren't loyal to him. Locking up K-Lumsy for example. He's a crocodile, so I would imagine some of the " no" men ended up being dinner. The kremlings obviously fear him and his magic musket.
The croc does have issues. Grandiose delusions maybe, Narcissism, And multiple personalities. Maybe we need a Shrinky Kong to analyze him. He has had his share of head trauma.

Here's some things that i'm putting against. Not that i'm saying you're wrong, just noting.
1- Donkey Kong supposedly needs to feed the entire island (Rambi and the other good guys), so when he saw the banana pile empty, he didn't knew what to do since he needed to feed more animals than apparent.
2- Kremglings have an entire island, the Kremgling island, and supposedly they could just get back there and get more supplies instead of going to a kong's home, where more than 5 monkeys live and steal all their food WITHOUT READING a sign describing who those bananas belong to.

I love how you are trying to paint K. Rool as an innocent saint while completely overlooking the fact King K. Rool is a maniacal psychopath who stole the bananas NOT to feed himself or the other animals but to starve the Kongs to death so he can take over Kong Island and Kong’s treehouse. He’s been very clearly stated to be a dictator (something all villains are) and he ruled Crocodile Isle with an iron fist. The island is guarded by the Kongs and K. Rool wants to get rid of them. The dude also actively tried kidnapping some Kongs and even trapped animals in crates. HOWEVER, yes the Kongs aren’t innocent either. Cranky Kong (who is officially confirmed to be the Kong that kidnapped Pauline instead of the current DK) kidnapped people and then there’s the fact that the Kongs hoard all the bananas. K. Rool does have valid reasons to hate the Kongs too. Crocodile Isle was sunk by Diddy Kong so yeah, it's understandable K. Rool wants vengeance. But please stop defending K. Rool, he is not a hero at all. In fact, both sides are guilty of doing shitty things and both K. Rool and the Kongs need to be held accountable for their misdeeds. The Kongs are at worst gluttonous assholes who don’t know how to share their food. K.
