    Hey everybody! Thanks for tuning in. Just a quick correction that many fans have already pointed out:
    -The timeline has been retconned (only further adding to the confusion). It used to be DMC3->DMC1->DMC4->DMC5->DMC2. But now it's DMC3->DMC1_>DMC2->DMC4->DMC5

    You know I'm glad someone actually took the time to do this properly. Every time I saw a "History of DMC" video pop up on my feed it was just a bunch of gameplay videos for each game in release order. Not sure how that would even qualify as a "History" video but for a lot of those history of videos, for any franchise, that's all that there is, gameplay with no actual history on the game.

    DMC 1 needs a remake. Seriously, I was mindblown when I saw this on E3 2001. I played the shit outta this back in the days, still do every year. The sequels never gave me such feeling as with the first one. Just an amazing game and the atmosphere in the caste plus the music is godly. And Dante's appearance in the first game is just amazing, no cocky cringy teenager just a badass demon hunter with epic one liners. Oh man, and the enemies and bosses those are badass, I'm happy to see some old enemies return in DMC 5, like the Sin Scissors, Nobodies and a swordsman who resembled Nelo Angelo. Although those "old" enemies are slightly redesigned. Can't wait to play DMC 5.

    Only complaint I have about the HD remasters is that they lack a lot of effects, like in DMC 1 when you encounter Phantom on the PS2 you would see a heat effects which made the screen a bit blurry and for underwater the same, they completely removed those effects and the music doesn't loop properly. Otherwise it's still a nice collection.

      Well every single boss in DMC3 had a unique way to fight it like Beowulf you have to hit its eye. Or Cerberus where you can tell what the attack patterns will be when the heads turn. But in DMC4 the really only have slash at it until its down than grab it. Also Vergil is a superior boss with story, development, and the many ways you can go about fighting him

    • @night1952
      @night1952 5 лет назад

      @@sanimonz1831 Well, if you mention only the good bosses of course they're interesting, but centipede, horse, jester, arkham and a few more suck. DMC4 bosses also have weakpoints and unique parries for Nero.
      Vergil has a better build up, but the fight itself i still think Credo is better, he has fun patterns to dodge, spears to parry and a shield to break... While Vergil has a few moments where you can't attack him at all or when he goes DT it's kind of pointless to engage since he has super armor.

    • @sanimonz1831
      @sanimonz1831 5 лет назад

      @@night1952 actually jester and horse were pretty well designed with horse being the boss the reward your jumping skils and jester made you have to use dodging to be able to beat it. Also you have vergils fight all wrong your supposed to attack him in DT because he will heal and make the fight harder. Thats why you could use any of the many ways to beat him like block it all with royal guard, use gunslinger to put good damage from range when he is DT, use sword master to make him hurt quick and use dodge to avoid him or use trickster and keep dodging durning his DT. And thats not even Including the strategys that come from weapon combos or gun combos. • @night1952
      @night1952 5 лет назад

      @@sanimonz1831 oh yeah, the jumping mechanics dmc is known for. Jester is just annoying to fight, dodging his attacks is no big deal, it's just boring, and 3 times doesn't help.
      Actually, the way to fight dt vergil is to pop dt yourself, and melee him while dodging, but that's the pro way, until you master his patterns you're just going to eat sword. About the many ways to fight vergil, that's just because there's no style switching, and trickster feels redundant and gunslinger is literally useless, it's just chip damage. Credo can be fought using 5 different characters and with dante having 5 styles at once, so there's your replayability.

    I preordered DMC5 purely due to how amazing RE2 remake was. Nothing really compares to the original Devil May Cry, in which the positioning of your protagonist Dante is a critical part to chaining multiple enemies within your hitbox. This is similar to the positioning mechanic in Dark Souls, which however doesn't function in the same manner. Anyway, it'd be splendid if they might bring the gothic vibe back to the new installment.

    Excellent video! As others have already noted in their comments the timeline has changed thankfully. Here are a few of my opinions. DMC 2 is so irrelevant to the rest of the series and should be disregarded. DMC 3 and DMC 4 are my favorites in terms of gameplay and combat. DMC 3 has the best plot in the series. However, I think DMC 1 has the most memorable enemies, environments, soundtrack, and best atmosphere. I think games after DMC 1 don't quite have that horror and eerie atmosphere that I really enjoyed. DMC 4 in particular felt too bright in many portions of the game. I'm definitely looking forward to DMC 5. I already have a feeling it will be best in the series as far as pretty much everything I mentioned above.

    Oh man, haven't played DMC1 in a few years, forgot about the scissor demons. I hate all those black cloak demons, the scissors in 1, the first miniboss in 3, the cloaked Freddy Kruger like insects in 4. There's probably some annoying one in 5.
    You didn't talk about being able to play as Trish in DMC2, as I think that's one of the best parts of the game. Admittedly you do have to beat the game twice (on hard mode) to unlock her, but she plays like DMC1 Dante rather than DMC2 Dante.
    I'm also surprised you didn't bring up the special editions for either 3 or 4 and how they changed up the games.

      The game had pretty poor writing with dante being the worst one where when every he tried to do a one liner it either was really cringey or sounded like two kids that found out what cuss words are. Plus the story was pretty bad with the ending being a surprise that made no sense unless you played the 3rd game which is not what a reboot should do. The game also was very easy compared to the other games not really having a lot of room for free flow combos that the series is known for. So its a decent game gameplay wise and a pretty bad story

    • @mott1992
      @mott1992 5 лет назад

      the reboot was a masterpiece. They really should have just worked on making it an original IP, that way it could continue as a competitor to DMC and Bayonetta. I really think it was a great game and the best DMC game mechanically. OG DMC is way better from a character development/story standpoint.

    • @mott1992
      @mott1992 5 лет назад

      Ninja Theory is actually an amazing genius developer. All their games are goddamned masterpieces. If we're being completely honest, the only reason DmC reboot got hated on was because it was called DmC. Had they just came up with a new IP and given the characters their own story, it would have been very well received (in fact, in its CURRENT state its already very well received). Just look at the games Ninja Theory has developed. It's really unfortunate that DmC got hated on for re-imagining Dante, because otherwise its actually a masterpiece of a game (especially DmC Definitive Edition with all the upgrades and new difficulty balances).

      @@Nick930 Correct. DmC reboot was, in my opinion, a masterpiece by a genius developer (Ninja Theory - just go look at their other games). The only issue with DmC reboot is that it's called DmC and uses Dante's character and story. If they had made it an original IP with original characters, it would have been a 10/10, and without the DMC fanbase attacking it. (This is coming from me, a DMC fan who shitted on DmC reboot when it release, THEN decided to actually give it a try and realized how amazing it actually is).
