Timothy just went from poor to extremely rich by doing what he thought was a great deal. Never to expect his "rich friends" to try and ruin him but actually made him richer every time.
I will always view this story as an example of how life can go even when the odds don't add up.

Nah, he was just extremely LUCKY...The New Castle strike ended immediately after all of Timothy's coal had all sold...The foreman lied saying it cost HALF of the cost they could mine it, and that he had sent 2 more ships FULL of it. It scared the miners back down in the mine.

For the other driver’s name, he wrote “Bambi but I don’t know.” For the color of the other vehicle, he wrote “faun.” The address of the other driver? “The forests of illinois.” I’ve investigated everything from auto accidents to homicides, but I will always remember that guy. He was being serious, too. We should nominate him to be the next Informer of Deer.

If I was a famous producer, director, whatever, I'd be jotting down a bunch of MrB's stories to pitch to my 'friends' in an effort to drum up cash to turn a lot of these into films, funny and otherwise. Hell, letting them hear Ballen tell the stories would probably hook most of them right there!
