This tune slaps hard ... Ode to his oldest child Carmen (10-21-68) who was apparently 3 years old at the time this was recorded. He famously added years as needed (MSG 7/27/73 he notes she was 4 years old) when done live going forward. Backing vocals, a rarity, and many guitar track layers never stopped them from smashing this live!
What an incredible journey you've been on with Led Zep, and it's only 1973. I was all of 16 years old when this 5th album was released. Think they didn't influence our musical tastes??? LOL.... and to your question: YES.... continue the journey... next is Physical Graffiti 1975 (I graduated H.S. that year) and then Presence AND The Song Remains The Same both in 1976 (my 1st year of college). Pink Floyd, Frank Zappa, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, The Who, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Steve Miller, Triumvirat, Super Tramp, CSNY, Jeff Beck, Peter Frampton, Buffalo Springfield, Jefferson Airplane, Chicago, Steppenwolf, Cream, The Guess Who, The Band, Ten Years After, Traffic, just to scratch the surface blasting through the Dormitories.
JM... A Must Do Request... Robby Robertson, Lead Guitarist/vocals for "The Band"... has died today at 80 years old. the band was the back up for Bob Dylan and were called the band so the name stuck had several albums of their own... PLEASE do The Band - "The Weight"
When they first backed up Dylan the 'Band' were still known as the 'Hawks' having been Ronnie Hawkins backing band. I saw Dylan on tour with them in the spring of 1966 and they were still known as the 'Hawks'...
@@coinneachmaclellan3121 Thanks for that info. I was aware of it and now JM/others will know. Seeing Dylan Live is an Honor and life time memory. I have seen him 3 times. Last was with Willie Nelson at Doubleday Field Cooperstown N.Y. Two legends together was an incredible show.
Mr. Page’s licks are just straight up sick!! LOVE IT!!!Keep it up. If you haven’t tried it yet check out Hey Hey What Can I Do? It is so good and believe it or not they recorded it as a B-side track for Immigration Song from Led Zeppelin III. Was never officially released until 1982 on Coda (Deluxe Version) 2 years after Bonzo died and they disbanded.
JMBOY TV if you want to hear some Funk Blues Soul and Rock & Roll all in one song give a listen to The J.Geils Band Sever You Right To Suffer Live off there Full House Album thanks
You can't go wrong doing Zeppelin. As you now know, it's all good and all different. There will never be another group quite like them.
Agree. I think Led Zeppelin and Beatles will be on top of modern music until humanity perishes.
Yes! Physical Graffiti is a mega masterpiece! Onward!
PG is full of bloat! Give the first 4 and Houses and call it a day. Nothing they did after 1973 comes close.
Here we go everyone!! Time to get the LED out with Jmboy!! Signed THE GOATS!!
Yes please "Physical Graffiti" is one heck of a journey in itself.
That alternating beat always got me.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned it. This song is about the audience, and what they look like from the stage
The "Ocean" is the live audience of fans he is singing to.
Great.
Na na, na na na na, na, na na na na na na… 😉
The other vocals you heard was John Bonham doing backing vocals
