A lot will argue that this is their best song but with Led Zeppelin you can argue that 90% of their library can be their best song.

After listening to Led Zeppelin’s catalogue and other influential bands of the 70s, you start questioning what happened to music in the decades that followed.

All by design to lower our minds ... the culture creators realised they were going to lose control of the human race allowing it to continue that's why they brought in punk (puke) and disco (heave)

These stops during the riffs for the singer, it's pure Blues. Led has a lot of Blues influence. Jimmy brought this from the Yardbirds and he along with Bonzo were experts in mixing the Blues with a heavier grip.

My first concert, 1977, Chicago stadium. A night well remembered. Jimmy Page playing a double neck with a bow during Dazed and Confused is a memory etched in my mind. I also focused on John Bonham who was beating the hell out of his drums. A night surely remembered and grateful I was able to see them. Unfortunately wasn't able to see them again. They had a s date set to play in Chicago and the only way to get tickets was through a local newspaper. You send a entry form and if your name was pulled you could get 4 tickets. I remember I was walking out the door to buy newspaper and send the form in when my phone rang. It was my buddy. I remember saying dude I gotta go . Bonham died he said. That was it. Zeppelin was done. I know a guy who had tickets sent to him for that concert. He kept them and has them in a frame.

RP is still making music... he doesn't like to do too many of the old songs often. His new band is The Sensational Space Shifters but he had just brought out another album with Alison Kraus.
He's a regular at our local pub as he lives close by.... amazing stories he tells, believe me.
You should check out 'Kashmir' from their O2 show in London in '07. All in their 60s and still totally kill it. Wow! Fun fact.. so many people wanted a ticket to this reunion that they had to hold a lottery for the 16,000 tickets available... 20 million plus people applied, including me!

When I was introduced to Hard Rock/Heavy Metal with this song. My brother is 9 yrs older than me. He graduated high school and went to welding school out of state. I'd sneak into his room and play his 8 track player. Led Zep IV was one of them and Black Dog was my absolute favorite (even better than Stairway)! To this day, when I hear this song, I have to crank it!!

Black Dog is some Zeppelin fans' favourite song ... period. I'm from the Toronto area and a number of years back the popular Toronto FM station Q107 held its annual Top 1007 songs of all time and in one of those years Black Dog was named the best song EVER. It is a complete amazing rocker all the way through. I think it's the best example of Plant's singing, Page's riffing and Bonham's playing. I've never thought of Bonzo's drumming being crisp more like elegantly brutal. Perhaps Page's most iconic guitar sounds/effects out of dozens - and that would be saying something.

My favorite song by Led Zepplin is Kasmir "The Live at Celebration Day Concert" is the best version of it. It was performed by Zepplin 30yrs later in their 60's & they will still blow your mind how great they sound & John's son Jason Bonham on the drums is truly inspiring. I hope you see that version of Kashmir before any of the others. Actually the whole Celebration Concert is a must see for sure! You guys ROCK! PS loved watching you enjoy TRIUMPH'S songs too. You Definitely know GREAT Music when you hear it.

Watch Zeppelin when you can live....their live performances were legendary ...often three hours long with many songs extended into 20 minutes or more of sheer breathtaking improvisation. Never played a song in exactly the same way twice Their charisma and connection on stage is also legendary and that’s what you should look for. I don’t know if you ever repeat a song on your channel but Black Dog live from 1973 Madison Square Garden is great. Anything from that MSG 1973 show is iconic I would suggest Whole Lotta Love. Most people will suggest Stairway to Heaven but I don’t think that’s your guys vibe if you three line blues, then Since I’ve Been Loving You MSG 1973 is also iconic with fantastic solo from Jimmy and a charismatic performance from Plant. Hope you enjoy delving deeper into this GOAT band.

A bit of a side note concerning Led Zeppelin’s Black Dog involves the time
signature of the track. During the guitar riff, the band in playing in 9/8 time
while John Bonham is keeping the beat in standard 4/4 time.
It is not easy to play in one beat and listen to others playing in another - amazing!

Robert Plant has had a 40 year solo career...hugely successful in the 80’s. He has always surrounded himself with top musicians throughout his career He is a songwriter of course, so he has his own catalogue as well as Zeppelin songs. Throughout his career, he has changed his band many times, always going for new sounds and fresh creativity He and Page reunited for several hugely successful tours 1994-1999 or so where they reimagined allot of Zeppelin songs with an Egyptian orchestra ....Page and Planr especially were influenced by the music of Morocco and North Africa Plant has had 11 solo albums and several collaborative albums ...one with Alison Krauss which won five Grammies in 2008 I believe. Plants last album came out in 2017. He is doing several concerts in England in June at various festivals with his current lineup called Saving Grace

Dig in, boys. Rock was dead by the time they burst onto the scene. Pop, Disco. Nothing until the 70s, which they dominated. After Bonham died, it was over.
He's always in the top 10, usually #1. The most unusual
time signatures, and heavy sticks. An eargasm. Blues, funk, Soul, bluegrass and rock.
