Is it possible to love a Countach more than this?

  • Casey Putsch (IG @caseyputsch) was a child of the 80s and there is nothing more 80s than a Lamborghini Countach. It was his goal to buy one and when it happened, it seems to have lived up to the hype.

      Dude don't be sad about selling your car at the wrong time. If you didn't enjoy it then what's the point of keeping it when you can sell it and buy a more fun car (that's subjective) instead.
      Coming from a 17 year old who has never owned a car so don't know if I make any sense. But I think money isn't that important when you can have cool car experiences instead.
      idk...

    That blue interior. It makes this 1980s teenager's heart skip a beat.

    That is such a perfect color combo for a Countach.

    • @aaronbays4
      @aaronbays4 5 лет назад +9

      White is by far my favorite color on the Countach, but that grey-ish silver is something special. The color kind of becomes a non-color and really accents all the angles/lines on that car. Its like the color becomes background and the sculpture of the car is revealed.
      IMO silvers and metallic greys work really well on wild looking cars, they are SO boring on a more normal 4 door sedan, where a bold color can make up a bit for the autonomous look.

    • @mouser485
      @mouser485 5 лет назад +2

    I think a great lesson I learned a few years back is that we don't actually own these cars. We are stewards of them. The art, craftsmanship and even the history that follows them around are on full display.
    When someone sees one of these old Lamborghinis all this comes flooding back. It's the 12 year old's poster sitting right there in front of everyone.
    It's not yours... it's everyone's. Everyone relates to these things in some way.
    The biggest shame is for someone to buy it and then refuse to show it.
    What you did was the best thing anyone could have done. With love, you owned it and restored it. You kept it running and you allowed it to be loved by others.
    Thanks for the story. You presented your version of a car I also very much loved growing up. It was my honor to actually be allowed to back one up. Learning how to do that simple thing gave me so much joy I can hardly tell you. Seeing your car from the rear with the door up brought me right back to that time.. a better time and place. Better in my imagination than it probably was in reality... all because of a piece of Italian rolling art.

    More recent reviews of the Countach seem only now to give the car it's due. I remember reviews years ago that too often were limited to city streets and a couple of acceleration runs. They always raved about the looks and hated the rest of the car. But here we have Casey Putch talking about a couple of back road drives, Harry Metcalf of Harry's Garage taking his through Europe, and Matt Farah of the Smoking Tire driving his on two-lane back roads. Each of these reviews pointed out just how good the Countach is as a GT putting on many miles a day. Well deserved for such a unique car.

    Yeah, picking up a Countach mid-00s would not have been a bad investment as it turns out. I can at least rest easy in that there's no way I'd have been able to swing one at the nadir of their value anyway. Actually knew a fellow in the Northeast that would at least annually track his black/gold Countach. Not the best car for a circuit, but it put up with it as well as anything else that old, which is saying something.

    I relate to this so much with the Rx7 FD.
    1. Absolutely adore the car, it’s perfect. The adoration is on another level. Kinda wish all the pop culture would go away, would still love it. 1 word, FD
    2. Prices are doubling every year and I don’t like talking about it
    3. They used to be cheap when I was growing up (in primary school, elementary for americans), now people suddenly want them
    4. They’re temperamental, emotional machines. Everything burns, everything breaks.
    5. The car that he loves is literally 1 year older than him, the specific model I’m in love with is also 1 year older than me
    I’m at the start of working on a business, and tbh, it’s not because I want a comfortable living or financial stability, it’s cuz I want that car (as my first milestone)
    I have never met a single person who loves one car so much in a way that I can understand, until I saw this video today.
    This video touched me in a special way (no homo)

    The tapes don't go bad if stored dry. Its the rubber belts & the pinch rollers in the player that go bad.
    Most belts cost under $0.50c & a sticky pinch roller can be cleaned with white spirits.
