A black Miura with gold wheels is certainly a black car I could love. I might even be able to keep it clean, not as clean as John's dad keeps it, but cleaner than my cars!
Ed Bolian just apply the “snake oil” on it.
But that car wouldn't be up your alley. It doesn't have the type of history you are usually attracted to. :P
ED just buy one for the channel 😁😁
Ed Bolian verde drako 🍆
I wish they could get his dad on to hear some of his story’s
This guys dad thinks Ferris Buellers day off is a Horror film. 😂
Thats frey dad. Lmaooooooo you know the scene im talking about.
“You killed the car....”.
😂😂😂😂😂
lmfao he probably thinks of it like a documentary with real footage of the holocaust
it was replica in Ferris Buellers day off. oh and they got sued for making it.
“ My dads not a rich man by any means” 😂
He looks like someone who would say that
Right these guys are all loaded 😂🤣😆
He’s a terrible liar....
Lol.

In case anyone was wondering, $20,000 in 1972 is the equivalent of about $120,000 today
Karson Barnes And today Lamborghini flagships go for 300k+
FamousDMagnificent amazing what a reputation can do
You could buy a nice house back then for that.
Its a million now!
uh, maybe not, in California when it comes to property back then $20,000 in my neck of the woods is $1,020,000 today .....$60,000 is now $2,060,000 ............ and your wife now has to work - boy are we gullible lackeys with the Federal Reserve.......
Dad , there john you can finally have my SV
John , wow thanks dad
2 days later it's on craigslist

Dad, Can I drive the Miura? NO
Can I take a picture of it? NO
can i breath the same air that is around it ? ... no
Son: Can I know about the Miura?
Dad: NO...
*proceeds to murder son for knowing too much*
Dad: ...NO WITNESSES
And stop talking about my car son... I don't like it!
Dad can I think of the car? NO you’ll deprécate it’s value
Keeping a car like that locked away seems to miss the point of ownership. I wouldn't want to have a car I couldn't or didn't drive.
To each his own.
Pretty sure it appreciated and since he got the Miura through selling others he has basically no money in the car so it's over %1000 profit
While i think most people here agree with you, don't forget this was his third (?) Miura.
He absolutely got the full ownership experience and decided to keep the nicest one nice forever.
He's OCD like that
The insurance alone for actually driving the car must be astronomical.
It's a little sad to talk about how much you love it then also say that you never drive it and wont let anyone see it.
I suppose if you have the money, keep the perfect one nice and drive something else though.
A Miura SV for 20,000? I'll take it
today's that's around 123k
@@marcus8647 same 😂 but they're worth way more today
@@Calico-fw6li yeah lol! I love when people see things like 20k and think of it in today's money.
Back when a Hemi Charger was $5-6k
P OK a adjusted to inflation that’s 117k. Still 117k for a brand new Lamborghini is still a total steal !!!
"Not a rich man by any means.".. I'll go grab a shovel to dig through that BS
Such an awesome example of long terms ownership and love for a car. Time get that SV back on the road!
Damn, I'm jealous, the Muira is my absolute dream car
Get his dad on the show
Yes please try to get his dad on the show
yup, get the car on the road. Its nice to see a mint car but they're kinda boring. Where is the story of the car; "well I kept in a garage & washed it regularly" as aposed to "when I was driving it for ... ".
I understand the love but I think its a waste. Use it for what its meant for, driving!!
Yes but it's not...
Show you’re dad this video get him to Atlanta he’s probably got some stories
THIS COMMENT MUST BE NOTICED!
agreed. I'd love to hear some stories about the car too!
Thumb this comment up!!! We need the father to see this.

As cool as this sounds I would've liked to hear that he still drives it and enjoys it on the road and in car shows, but to each their own I guess
Considering he drove and enjoyed plenty other Miuras back in the day, I'm not surprised he wants to keep this one as a way to relive the joy of a brand new Miura, 40 years later.
@@pierce324 quite poetic, I would sell it and buy a new collection of cars and a miura replica to look at
Mo-hammad Abunaser I’m assuming at this point it’s a car that he’ll never part with, which I totally respect
You need to make a video about the 1994 cannonballs event in Australia. A Ferrari f40 crashed and it was the only “legal” cannonball
That´s a cool story! Need to search for it...
I know there’s a Ferrari F40 that crashed years ago in the targa Tasmania. Owned by a collector on the north west coast. The car was sent back to Italy to be rebuilt/restored by Ferrari and the owner was told to never drive it like that again. The front window is also signed by Niki Lauda
There were stories of the contestants of the Cannonball getting passed by the locals in their regular rides because there is no speed limit on the Stuart Hwy & very few people that to most of the people in the territory doing 200+ in an old Ford Falcon was just a tuesday.
I know the last time I drove the Stuart Hwy, I set the cruise control to 200 & just sat back & watched the kms go by. I even got passed a couple of times. I wasnt driving a real sports car either, it was a stock standard Holden Statesman.
you know you're rich when you own a multi-million dollar car...but you're filthy rich when you can turn down a multi-million dollar offer on a car.
That needs to be a video for sure. Japanese drivers from memory, killed 2 members of a HQ club.
There was a cannonball in 80s in Australia also. That’s a good one too
I have so much respect for your ability to tell a story about you dad. I was never really exposed to my families heritage or passions much growing up and it saddens me.
Last time I was this early, Ed hadn’t missed his court date yet!

Wow this is the earliest I've been in a while. Love the Miura SV and I'm not surprised John has some great stories to tell.
I remember these cars being cheap when I was in college. What a great story! Very underappreciated at the time because no one would work on them and parts were so hard to get.
when was that just wondering?
Lots of Ferris Bueller references. Here’s the most appropriate quote: “A man with priorities so far out of whack doesn’t deserve such a fine automobile.”
I coulndt agree more.
I've spent the last 10 years selling and restoring classic bmw's and Porsche's.
Recently I spent 2 years restoring a 1972 Porsche 911t coupe, it had sat in a garage rotting away for 15 years, when I finished the car it was stunning and ran like a dream.
When I put it up for sale, I immediately had offers. One person told me they wanted the car, and assured me that they where going to baby the car in thier collection and never even drive it.
To which I responded "I'm sorry I'm not interested in selling this car to you then"
Dumbfounded he asked "why"? I said" because, I spent the last two years bringing his car back from the dead, it had already been sitting for 15 years, I didn't do it for nothing, and I Didn't Do It For the Money this car needs to be driven and enjoyed"
I didn't sell him the car.
This is the best vinwiki I have ever watched

One minor correction. The 1972 New York Auto Show would have been at the N.Y. Coliseum, which was at Columbus Circle where the Time Warner Center now stands. The Javits Center didn’t open until 1986.
We New Yorkers are quick to jump on that lol
We're also quick to jump on pointing out that although Javits was open in 1986, the auto show was still at the Coliseum that year. Jacob Javits began hosting it in March or April '87. I've got pictures from both years and the lighting in the Coliseum made it look like a dungeon compared to the Javits.
As somebody that grew up in NYC, I was just about to comment that as well, but you already did, so thank you :)
This is an amazing story! It’s awesome how the whole family shares in the car enthusiasm. I can identify - one thing my dad and I have in common is that we both love cars, and I’m glad we always have that to talk about. John is one of the best underrated storytellers on VINWiki. 👍
That is one gorgeous automobile 😎
Was just thinking this. I'm not a huge fan of old cars really but this is a beautiful design to me!
What’s good rabbit?!? You keepin em straight bubba?
Rob Pitts hello rob
Good story and very interesting to hear the history of your Dad and his Muira. Stuff like this is why I subscribed. Thanks for sharing.
It's very rare to find a son who doesn't think his dad is a huge pain in the butt for doing all that you mentioned he brought you up very well as well
I really appreciated hearing this story. The reverence for his father’s love for his Miura SV is simply beautiful. Even though their appreciation for these vehicles may look different, there is this deep respect for that passion. Wonderful story!
It's fascinating he was willing to dump his Miura S on a whim, but keeps his Miura SV for like 50 years, no temptation to upgrade.
It’s like finding “the one”. When you know you know.
Really isn’t much of an upgrade to an sv
@@bebin73 If you actually listened to the entire story, then you'd know, it was. Because of the color combo, the fact, that everything in this particular Miura SV was leather, that would have been vinyl in the Miura S at the time etc.
Got to work on a red 66 when i worked for Brian Crall in San Ramon Ca. What beautiful cars these are.
Fulthrotle73 Brian Crall - haven’t heard his name in awhile. How’s he doing?
@@MichaelJames-lz7ni he moved to texas, has a shop and still working. Guy is a machine lol.
Did he check the blinker fluid? Don’t forget that. Miura’s are known for failure in that area.
I've heard stories of Miura's muffler bearings going bad. Usually they fix/replace them during the annual 500 mile turbo encapulator servicing.
Yeah they tend to leak the fluid quickly leaving the blinker reservoir bone dry
Urine is a good substitute in a pinch if you're local O'Reilly's doesn't have blinker fluid.
I've heard that they are notorious for breaking their piston return springs
Some one send him the chrisfix vid
That was honestly one of the best stories I've listened to on this channel
Awesome job

GREAT CAR Story.
All in the Family.
Thank you for posting it
Shout out to all ocd dads we love you... thumbs up stay awesome everyone.
Rich guy who keeps his car in a bubble.. totally relatable.
As with any collectable, the value goes down once you crack open that mylar packaging.
it isn't meant to be relatable. It's insightful how other people of other backgrounds, classes, wealth etc. can appreciate cars in different ways.
It was a car now its an idea.

/// How do you know he's rich? And what do you define as rich? It's different for everyone so it means nothing for you to just say 'rich' without defining what you mean. I hate that word because almost everyone that uses it is jealous and pissed like you are that the money fairy didn't wave her magic wand at you. The vast majority of people you call rich worked hard for the $ they have but I'm pretty sure you want no part of that.
I really enjoyed this, thank you for sharing that story with us.
I think this is the best story I have ever heard on here. Your Dad's passion is inspiring!
Butler Tire ad is dope!!!
What a good story this was!
I could only imagine what caring for a car like that would be! Not sure if I could turn down those crazy offers tho!
Driving through NY in 1972 in general deserves a medal considering how much of a hole it was during that time. With a Miura he deserves a parade
I'm new to your channel, I absolutely love all these 1st hand car stories. I was raised in a garage. Understanding the history behind the evolution of all these makes and models is increadably enlightening. Thank you.🙏
John is a wonderful and articulate story teller. I've enjoyed his videos so far.
This story makes me sad, this car is locked away and no one can see it, and it is never driven.
Same thing happens with some top art pièces. At some point in time Rio de will resurface and be showen to the world.
I’d much rather my great grandkids seeing this car rather than me.
The guy had 2 more Muira before this one so he drove the hell of it. If its a special car today, why would a 70yr old guy drive it as much as he did back in the day. Now he appreciates his hard work.
A driven Miura is rarer than an all original ''time capsule''
Another great story and video. Thank you VinWiki 👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻
This guy has a smooth delivery and low-key style; I like him. I hope he has more stories so that we'll see more of him in the future.
Last time I was this early, I was still mixing verde Draco paint.

You notice the mileage ferris, he doesn't drive it he just rubs it with a diaper.
Beautiful story, I loved it and thank you for sharing with us all 🙏🏻
Best video so far from vinwiki... The passion this man has for his car.

John Tamerian stories are the best! Curated finds a lot of really interesting cars.
Rabbit 🐇 Pitts : I’m a sucker for a good car story !!!
Rabbit might just sell his cars house and wife and hell he’ll throw in the Ex just to sweeten the deal to get this car lol !
I thought you said he would throw in Ed at first and idk why but it was fucking hilarious
Vinwiki story about a Lamborghini, yes please!
I jus love how in detail johnss stories are and the passion he tells it
One of the greatest stories I heard on this channel , big thumbs up 👍👍
John, just imagine when the Muira becomes yours. It'll be the most shining centerpiece at your dealership & customers will be climbing over eachother to make offers. But of course, this is more of a story about FAMILY, which is why I give this video a HUGE thumbs up. :-) Familia e il numero uno :-)
The last time I was this early Ed still had his hands on top of the steering wheel.
That's the most beautiful car story I've ever heard in my. The brought tears to my eyes. It's hard for people to understand the love and passion that that a person can have for something. I envy him because he was blessed to find the love of his life.
Another GREAT STORY Ed🤓👍
John Temerian need to get his father together with the guy from Obsessed Garage. I bet they have stories they could swap.
I really like Johns stories I am 40 not understanding why for a timeframe Lamborghini Miuras we're not worth very much or like Lotus Esprit for a time you can get for $3,500 it's nice to see people start to appreciate these now if we can only get people to like the old early Volvos and Saabs
The early volvos have already started to become valuable here in sweden so it probably won't be long until it comes to the US aswell.

It's like 11.000% of Value increase WOW!
(20.000 dollar in 1972 should worth 120.000 today, that's crazy)
Now that is a great story - there are many cars I wish I had kept, but to have owned an SV from new for almost 50 years is the stuff of dreams. It would be great if when the time comes that John keeps it in the family and then passes it down to his son as well :).
Dude, his grandfather sold a 250 GTO for something like $15k dollars XD
I really hope this brings John's channel the attention it deserves. He's uploaded some great videos.

Awesome story !!!! It’s awesome your dad kept his great piece of automotive history , so many of us sell trade our babies away to only then regret it for the rest of our lives or turn down or pass on a great deal to get a great car .
That is one of the nicest stories ever! Much respect to John's dad, I hope get like this with my car
it's not a car to him it's fine art. it's like taking care of art in his private gallery. hes just a person awe struck with that car and could afford to buy it. his money, his car hes doing as he sees fit. kudos to him!!

I can appreciate the love that he has for the car and being worried about damage being caused by things out of his control. It's just a shame that nobody else will have the opportunity to appreciate the car and him for the level of work hes put in to preserve it. Then you see the pressure that John is already experiencing as the future custodian of the car to keep it perfect, instead of enjoying it on the road.
Good story John. Thanks for sharing.
Eckspecially heartwarming episode.
True statement. Theres a man in my town outside chicago who DAILYS the HELL out of A McLaren 650S
Okay, but a 650s is nothing compared to a Miura SV
When I was in Melbourne, Australia I regularly saw a black Countach in the CBD.

Hello, love your vids and the amazing stories. Pls keep them going, really enjoying them.
Is it possible the to get original drawings of the frame and body dimensions of an original muira?
I think the lines and curves of this car is one of the most beautiful designs ever created.
Really enjoying the stories of the muiras.
God bless.
Great story. I'm the same age as John's dad and I drove a 63 chevy 2 with three on the tree in 1972. Having a car like a Miura at that age would have been quite a responsibility but I think I would have driven the wheels off.

Millions of dollars or not, I'm not a fan of trailer queens! (or garage queens?) Drive that thing!
Jasta315 exactly , that’s what they are made for Hell May as well sell it and get a artist to oil paint one for his wall 🤔
Not to be disrespectful... But the minute after they lay the dad in the ground I'm driving that shit.. Hard 😂😂😂
Well he most likely drove the shit out of the other Lamborghini so he’s gotten the experience and he wanted something to last a life time. Can’t fault him for that
At this point in time he's keeping it as more of an art piece. There's the driver cars which already have plenty of miles on them and have been thrashed on, and then there's cars like that Miura. A time capsule. Similar to an actual time capsule where items of a significant era are shoved into the ground in a box, never to be used or played with. However, the car world needs these time capsule cars to have the experience of owning a brand new Miura, but 40 years later.
Yeah...You don't love cars if you keep them in a garage you only like them. Drive the damn thing that's what they are designed for otherwise why would they sell them with an engine?
That is a absolutely amazing commitment to a very special car

Imagine earning and saving enough to buy a car when you turn 16. In today's money a 12 yo could make $20 mowing a yard. 10 a week is $800 a month. With just that they could pay cash for a $40,000 car at 16. And that's without reinvesting or expanding.
