  • A few years ago now I stumbled upon an interesting Countach on Instagram. It appeared in the back of a photo from a storage facility and I quickly pursued the car. After over 1 year of negotiations and research, we had the opportunity to purchase the Long Lost Lamborghini Countach Turbo. This is the full story!

    Amazing! I remember this car from a magazine my brother gave me back in the 80s with only Countachs in it and I now have tears in my eyes. I went blind in 2005, but I remember this car with the seatbelts and twin turbos. Is there anyway you can get my blind ass a ride in this thing? It holds a special place in my heart.

    That car came to our shop in Reno, the carbs and a lot of parts of it were in boxes stuffed into the interior. The car was filthy and it was a mess to figure out what I had or was missing, luckily I found plenty of photos and a site with actual parts lists and images. Yes it was serviced, I believe the place who was working on it for Pennington had replaced the clutch and other parts. After going through the carbs, rebuilding a fuel system, properly setting up the clutch release mechanism and a bunch of other little jobs you need to do before firing up an old car, I got it running. The photos you show of it with the 25th anniversary car were taken on the floor of Sport Haus in Reno where I had been working. That job was particularly satisfying in knowing it's importance and history. I had heard Mr. Penningtom was actually a very nice guy from locals who got to know him. The person who brought it to the shop owned the Ben's liquors chain and a big strip club called Wild Orchid. Was fun getting my foot in the door of the exotic car restoration people, shops with no signs or windows kinds of places, that network was good for tracking a few parts and some good info down. I have a few pix of the car on my phone still, when it was in the shop and on the showroom. Yes I drove it a little, but the tires were from somewhere around '85 and if those were still on it when Balboni was driving it, he was taking his life in his hands! Honestly once I got it running and the carbs set up it ran pretty reliably so long as we put stabil in the gas. Glad it's in good hands now as at the time the owner I was dealing with was looking at shockingly ugly ghetto/tuner wheels to put on it!

      What were the wheels on the car you worked on in Reno?
      Look again at the photo of me Lamborghini.
      Why does the Lamborghini in the photo with Lorenzo and the driver have chrome rims?
      The Wolf Lamborghini is supposed to have matching candy apple red rims but that photo has chrome rims.
      Is it the same car?

    • @Oldbmwr100rs
      @Oldbmwr100rs 8 месяцев назад

      @@LaGrandeBayou Had to go through a lot of photos on my phone, but the wheels on the car had the outer rim edge polished, and most of the centers painted body color. When I was working on it, the owner was going over what wheels he wanted to have put on, and was looking at wheels that looked like they belonged on some coke dealers pickup. The ones in this video are what was on it.
