Cops Shut Down Couple’s Wedding 10 Minutes Into Reception

- An Arizona couple’s dream wedding quickly turned into a nightmare. Holliann Tran chose what she thought was the perfect wedding venue. She was married at Wranglers Roost, a desert oasis 40 miles outside of Phoenix, Arizona. Ten minutes into her wedding reception, law enforcement showed up and told the stunned bride to shut the party down due to a noise complaint. Tran did not know there was a cease and desist order on the property, meaning no large events were allowed.
She deserves a full refund, perhaps she could even sue them out of business. Her father would be smart to get in contact with an attorney.
Exactly
hopefully she gets that and have the party again somewhere else.
Her father? Lol she’s married now. That responsibility no longer falls on him. It’s her husbands responsibility.
It would be whoever paid for the venue. What is it you find so funny... them getting scammed by the venue or the nasty neighbor calling the cops to whine? What kind of crabazz calls to complain, someone bitter & jealous of another's happiness? Takes a real idjit or someone very immature to think it was amusing. @@EveretteMoon
She needs to sue whoever made that gown... LOL
They should sue the locations owner. That's ridiculous
Yes if your not zone and you lie about it. Yea I'd sue too
Not necessarily the owners but the ppl who took her money and booked the event.
Also whoever created that dress lmao 🤣 that was horrible for a wedding
@@tarae5380 Well you do bring up a point there.
@@damien1781 That's the real crime here
So they took her money knowing they weren’t allowed to have her event there? If she didn’t get a full refund, she needs to sue.
The Venue "Owner" should be brought up on Criminal Fraud Charges.
At least the cops apologized for shutting down the reception, and it was due to a simple oversight.
Yea, the oversight doesn’t sound simple, the venue had no legal right to rent it out to her, which is why it was shut down. The venue is in some sort of legal trouble.
The cops were nice, didn’t want to end it but had no choice
It wasn’t an oversight. It was fraud. The owner of the venue knew he/she wasn’t allowed to rent it out for events but did it anyway to make the money and just hoped they wouldn’t get caught. Well they did and this bride paid the price. I hope she sues for a lot. Enough to pay for a new wedding reception.
Yeah, it looked like they really didn't want to shut it down
They weren't sorry lol, they forced them to shut it down and ruin their wedding anyways. That is not being sorry.
I don’t think the police should be blamed or criticized for this. The officer even apologized and was just simply doing his job
You can tell he felt terrible for this, but his hands were tied.
It's definitely not the cops fault! That venue needs to be sued!
This is the same logic the guards at Auschwitz’s used
"Simply doing his job." Yeah, of course.
It was 8 ??? They could have allowed her a couple of hours.
The police were very polite and professional. I definitely would sue the company. That is so sad.
Dad was comforting his daughter, while the new husband just stares at the wall.
He was too focused on puffing his vape pen.
The thing is that the groom's wedding experience was ruined too. No one comforted him as he was being told the same disappointing news as the bride. Why is he being attacked for taking the news quietly? It's his wedding too!

I hope they can file some sort of lawsuit against the people who took her money and ruined her plans/ celebration.
Darn right. They better. There was a cease and desister order on the venue. I feel like that's something important that should be mentioned during the planning.
Yes they can, and they should. And LongShot is right -- the existence of a Cease and Desist order is a material fact that should've been disclosed to the wedding couple before they booked the venue.

Those cops were amazing. They were so sweet. I hope the family sues the venue❤
She should sue the venue owner for their failure to disclose the “cease and desist” on the property.
Absolutely. A cease and desist order is something that’s VITAL to inform your renters of. Owners probably just wanted to make money and hope nothing happened 🙄
I'm guessing they doesn't have any money which is why the ciest and desist order was placed in the first place.
That would be like a scammer telling you in advance that you're being scammed. But please sign on the dotted line. Duh!!
I certainly would. And demand reimbursement.
I agree.
Those cops were great tho. They apologized for something that wasn't their fault

Great? They should have ignored it.
How were they great? We’ve seen cops at times not do things, they could’ve just ignored this

That is so horrible! I'm glad the cops were sympathetic and shame on the person who took the bride's money for that venue.
I’d say sue the property owner for not making them aware of this fact
If they didn’t then they could definitely sue but they probably signed some piece of paper that mentioned the noise thing and didn’t read it if I had to guess so I don’t think they can sue

@@__Aiden__that doesn’t cover the cease-and-desist and invalidity of the venue. The couple was clearly unaware of this and only found out because of the noise complaint

But I’d love to know who enter them the venue in the first place and who called the cops on them for the “noise complaints”.
The site owners committed fraud. They probably had no liquor license either
You understand that a cease and desist order is not a physical or tangible thing, right? The owners just ignored the order and rented out the space anyways.
They werent allowed...that's the point. Someone took the money and ran

Girrllll I would be suing everything out of that venue. They HAD to know that they couldn’t host a party there.
Years ago my wife and I went through something similar. In our case it was the food catering company. They took half of our money and then never answer the phone again. We called a local TV station and they went after these guys. The same week they declared bankruptcy and close the business. We had just gotten out of college and were as poor as you can imagine. So that was a big blow for us, even though we were not making a huge party. It was only my and her immediate family because we just could not afford anything else. Thankfully that happened before the wedding day and we found someone who did it almost at cost.
The cop sounds so nice and sorry for her. He's not to blame. The owners knew they weren't allowed to rent it out for things like this and did it ànyway.
Nah. A nice cop doesn't shut down the party.
@@TheMotherofTacos it's called a job, girl...

The bride (and groom) can (and should) sue the venue for breach of contract and fraud. The fraud claim can get them compensation for emotional distress and even punitive damages.
Yes, maybe the bride can sue for damages and then have another reception in the future for the same group of family and friends.
In the same venue, as payback for booting them in the first place
@@lennydickson8845 Why would having the second ceremony in the same venue be "payback" for booting them? It would be the exact opposite -- the venue would get paid for hosting the event. The best way to "punish" them would be to take your business elsewhere.
@@lennydickson8845 Why would they want to have second reception at the same place that screwed them over? Your lack of logic is astounding.
But it wasn’t the venue that committed the fraud. It was the police. They had no right to just make up laws. C&D’s can’t be put on properties only on people.
Even if one was on the owner it would be questionable since it would impinge on his right to make a living and wouldn’t apply at all on the renters
I love how the officer instead of being professional immediately after letting them know unfortunately that’s not how it works this time he then immediately apologized and talked about how he did not like doing this at all
That’s because they had had to go to that location over and over. The owner had a practice of doing this and refused to stop. The police feel bad because they know that the couple was defrauded
I would say him apologising is him being professional. Being compassionate is part of the job when you deal with such sensitive matters.
Sheriff's office has received over 61 complaints about the property being used for illegally hosting events since July 2021 and has been fined over $70,000. This couple married in 2022 received a PARTIAL REFUND.
The only one to blame here is the venue.
Those newlyweds never knew this place wasn't allowed to have large events.
The people that operate that venue just got greedy and it tarnished what should've been a wonderful moment in this family's history.
She need to tell the world the location of the place so everyone can avoid the scam

100% venues fault. How do you NOT tell them this??
Much respect to the Officers for their kindness and understanding during that situation. They apologized and it wasn’t even their fault.
I feel bad for the bride. Jeez
Why? She cares more about the event than the marriage itself. This is why marriages don't last now.
@awakenedsystems bruh wouldnt you also be devastated if the event you and your partner planed for years and waited paid hundreds of dollars for that event to just get ruined?

She should definitely sue the company that rented this place to her. It should've been disclosed to her and given her the option of whether she still wanted to rent it or not.
She should sue the venue. There's absolutely no way they didn't know that they couldn't do big events. Like a wedding. But they still told her that it was fine and took her money
Sue the venue and have a huge party if they pay up. They misled the couple and obviously lied about the venue being fine for their reception. That is deceit, misrepresentation and out right lying.
OMG that's so sad. I'm a newlywed so I can only imagine her pain. I hope she can get a full refund and have another gathering with all of her friends & family
I don’t think so , once they spend all that money it’s all gone. They should just have a happy life together, it does suck that they had to go through that.
@@FabrisioUnleashed Very true unless the guests decide to make it a family reunion type of function and bring food. Of course that would be out of the norm but at least they can all party afterwards.☺️ Unrealistic and my wishful thinking 😂
I would look into suing the venue owners for not disclosing that the venue had a cease and desist order on it. I’m sure their wedding wasn’t cheap, so I’m sure she’ll be able to make a good case and get her money back, and more.
She has a good case. The question is whether she can collect on it (or if they spent it already).

You threw a wedding party inside a local neighborhood. what did you expect to happen?

This should be a consideration for all brides when planning a wedding--get as much info on your venues as possible. I know planning a wedding is stressful and hectic, so enlist as much help from your maid of honor and even some of the other bridesmaids to research vendors for you. If you can afford it, get a wedding planner to help you get your wedding day to run smoothly.
That has nothing to do with C&D orders though. There is no public database for Cease and desist orders.

It sucks, however, I must give full credit to the officer for being super respectful and caring!
I expect the scumbag venue has done this many many many times before and after the cease and desist and the officers have lots of experience dealing with giving people the bad news and probably hate the fact there isn;t a thing they can do that they haven't already done to the venue by giving him a piece of paper and telling he you can't do that!
