  • Jenny Morsch used to do all her banking at Chase Bank in Orlando, Florida and kept a safe deposit box there as well. To her horror, she says, one day all her cash and priceless possessions were gone. Morsch sued the bank but the judge dismissed the case. Three years later, she saw her $10,000 diamond necklace on TV. It was featured during a segment about Florida's unclaimed property division auction. Chase apparently shipped her items to the state back in 2012, mistaking her box as abandoned. Morsch recovered all of her cash, jewelry, and gold coins. Morsch is now appealing the judge’s ruling. Chase Bank denies her allegations and any wrongdoing.

Including going on the news back then and everything.

    I currently bank at Chase but after hearing Jenny Morsch's story towards the end, I'm seriously considering closing my account. What Chase did was obvious deceit by not disclosing during the initial lawsuit that they accidentally sent her belongings to the State believing that her safe deposit box was abandoned. They were hoping for a "he said / she said" type of argument which worked since the initial case was dismissed by the judge and of course Chase had their fancy expensive lawyers to back them up on this.

    • @iMatti00
      @iMatti00 3 месяца назад

      I’m not sure how anybody is hating on Chase when it seems pretty obvious this is a paperwork issue. Have they realize they sent the stuff to the state has abandoned property everything could’ve been reversed instead Chase had to pay Legal bills and risk more damage. Including going on the news back then and everything.
      And also noticed that any employee could’ve stolen the items and this woman never would’ve got them back. But instead she got everything back, because of both luck and because the Chase employees were honest. A mistake is not the same thing as dishonesty.
      I feel like this is a symptom of people not registering nuance. They just watch this video, and since something bad happened their brain looks at it as a completely black or white situation, instead of looking at the nuance.c

    I was at a pawn shop and a woman came in with a necklace that was worth over a 100k . She asked for a $10 loan . I started talking to her and she told me that a safety deposit box cost $35 a month and it's only insured for 100k or something like that. At a pawn shop for a $10 loan she only pays $1 a month and it's insured for the full value. I think that was genius .

    What do you do when your attorneys have a safe deposit box from a deceased family member in their possession and tell you that you have to pay them to get it? It’s family property that they never distributed in the final settlement!

    Make sure those sleazy retainer lawyers that represented Chase during her first lawsuit get brought up on tampering charges and, if possible, perjury.

    Banks and the Guv'mint can do whatever they want. I once had five grand in cash taken from me when I was going through the airport on a trip to Vegas. No reason was given, no crime was committed, no investigation was being done. They just saw the cash and wanted it. It took me 18 months to get less than half of it back and my Vegas trip was ruined because that was all of my playing money.

      I saw on line that this is a common police ( maybe fbi) practice of stealing money from honest citizens at airports.

      @@arfriedman4577 Probably. But I was ignorant back then and didn't think that my own government would rob me.
