Teen Loses Leg After Crash Left Her Hanging From Power Line

- Kennedy Littledike from Nampa, Idaho, lived through a frightening car crash in 2021. Following a breakup, she was crying in her car, lost control and her vehicle flipped. She was thrown out and landed on a power line. For over an hour, Kennedy hung from the power line by her broken leg. “I would go through it all again,” she says. The 19-year-old shared her story of recovery with Inside Edition Digital’s Andrea Swindall.
It's genuinely astonishing that she survived that.
Right!? I always think, "what if this had happened 50, 25, or even 10 years ago?" It's crazy to me that we now have the technology/know-how to handle things like this-- things that would have been an absolute death sentence in the past.
That's why the send 18 year olds into war. They can come back from stuff that a 30 or 40 years old would not survive. I learned that the hard way when I was 18. I think they put about 2 or 3 gallons of blood in me in three days. It was draining out almost as fast as they could put it in.
Unbelievable....wow
God is real
glad she's okay but foolish to not wear a seat belt
The fact that hanging on the powerline and getting shocked actually saved her from bleeding out, I-- what--
I feel like I think this same thought daily since I discovered this story. The fact that she essentially had to be flung on the powerline to save her life is such a weird concept.
Also, losing ones legs to a train can cauterize the wound, keeping you from bleeding out 😬
God works in mysterious ways 😉
@@witchy-wonderland1416 Could this concept of God have worked to saved her from this situation in the first place, if it can do mysterious works or is All Knowing, All Good, and All Powerful as defined by monotheists?
- Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is Not Omnipotent.

The fact that you told yourself "if you cry, you're done"
and you blamed yourself, and were thankful you were hurt instead of your friends.
There's a reason for you to recover. You're a wonderful person, full of life.
You wanted to prove, you can.
She blamed the accident on her crying right before it... she's flopping all over in her story...
Well it was her driving.. so kinda her fault
I could be wrong, but maybe she thought if she cried and panicked she would be done, basically panic contributing to death. Your emotional state during injuries can literally save or kill you based on blood pressure, heart rate, blood loss, etc
Yes, I understood that... Maybe my message was misunderstood because I didn't overexplain it.. She didn't want to cry even though she had every right to from the amount of pain, she would be giving in to it, but no, she wanted to survive instead of cry. She started the crash wanting to cry about silly things. She ended it wanting to survive, when if she chose to continue to cry and not take the pain of her mistake, she would pass away. She would give up her survival. The panic would definitely have not helped her situation. @@pr4208

As a former EMT i have seen some pretty unbelievable things happen to people but this ...seeing a conscious, alert person hanging from a powerline broken n battered would blow my mind. Im so glad she survived and came thru with such a positive outlook on life. ❤
why woud that blow your mind? you cant get electrocuted if your not making contact with the ground too.
??? He's talking about the ENTIRE situation plus um... She was electrocuted , it is what cartorized her wound, She had skin falling, If he as an EMT saw
her she would look... Not alive yet she was aware and talking, Which is why he said "battered and bruised and hanging" it's a miracle for anyone who comes up
on that scene, The details she gives lets you know why he is surprised, She was drowing in her own bl00d ... @@itsuserbro
Yes I agree, imagine driving up on this scene. I would think that I was dreaming.

What if it had been us that discovered her? As a journeyman lineman it makes me wonder . I think we would have been ok after the initial disbelief.
@@itsuserbroyes you can. Touch any two wires or a wire and a pole and your dead. I’m a journeyman lineman. No wonder so many people die.
Thank u for sharing u story. My boyfriend had both legs amputated over a year ago. N he has been down but seeing u story he is look I can walk with fake legs. U have touched our lives in so many ways. Congrats on finding love.
She's beautiful. I hope she lives a long happy life
Wow. Her surviving that tragedy is nothing short of a miracle. Looking at her hanging from that power line, while knowing the circumstances surrounding her injuries, lets me know it had to be both divine intervention & very skilled first responders who saved her life. She is brave, strong, & inspirational. Amazing.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
God is amazing❤
Your "God" let that happen in the first place.
@FlyntofRWBY human actions did that, stop blaming God for our human actions, he gave us free will for a reason, she messed up, and she admitted and accepted that fact, and she also accepted the fact God helped her out the mess she got herself in

The fact that she survived this horror and those severe injuries makes me think that she's going to make a big impact on people from here on out.
She will have amazing children!
It really is amazing, beyond belief almost. God has a plan for her.
Why can't we have more inspiring stories like this from the news and less divisive lies, just to control our minds?
@@corvus2512 That was god's plan? Sounds like a terrible if it means putting your kids in harms way.
@@louistournas120 Didn’t say the accident was, I said her surviving it was. You don’t have to agree, that’s fine.
Wow, what a miracle. Ugh, this story terrifies and amazes me at the same damn time. Wishing her the best in health, both mental and physical. God bless you young one!
I met Kennedy last year…her story is sooo powerful. She has the strongest faith too
luck.... reckless driving and could have killed others. Teenagers shouldn't drive.... especially without a seatbelt. She is just pure lucky.
@@Stong1337 disagree.
how is her story powerful??? she drove recklessly without a seatbelt, her story is horrific, she is not aspirational AT ALL.
@@Stong1337 she’s blessed, she talked about her belief too. i know her, you’re simply just a stranger to her
@@NocturnalEmissions well, after reading your comment I assume you didn’t even watch the video. she said she’d go through it all again just to bring awareness to the issue.
Her anxiety goes up when she talks about her leg while she was hanging from the power line. Poor thing probably has some terrible PTSD. I can’t imagine being strong enough to discuss something like that afterwards. What a brave person!
Thank you for not giving up you've inspired others 🙏💞
her story is incredible. She's very inspiring. I hope she lives a life of endless love and fulfillment
If you're emotionally distraught, please don't get behind the wheel of a car. There's nowhere that anyone has to be where you can't just take time to calm down and clear your mind before you get on the road and jeopardize not only your own life, but the lives of everyone on that road with you.
Absolutely. Even the effects of a headcold can impair one's ability to drive.
True. My sister had been murdered and I almost wrecked out because I was so distraught. Can’t drive properly when you’re sobbing your face off. It’s not worth it. I’m so glad this girl made it and has the outlook that she does 🥹bless her!

Omg I can’t believe she was thrown onto the power lines!!!! This is absolutely horrifying and insane! I’m so glad she was able to survive this! Please please wear your seatbelts people ❤🙏
Crazy thing is that being thrown to that height, she might have died on impact if she didn't get caught in the power lines.
I could hardly look at the picture of her hanging there. I can’t even figure out how her body was contorted. It looks like her leg was like a piece of paper going over it in the fact that they saved her arm? Insane!
@@DarcySteeleYeah that picture was nuts. Very hard to look at. Very haunting. But like someone above said, being caught on the power line probably actually saved her. Had she landed from that high up it probably would’ve killed her.
she had it coming though for not wearing a seatbelt and driving in that condition while other options were available
did you see the state of the car
Oh.. my.. gosh!! What a TROOPER, that girl!! So incredibly lucky and amazing that she not only survived the accident & injuries, but overcame the mental and emotional challenges as well!!
I, too, was involved in a car accident just over a year ago in which my non-dominant arm was severely injured by the steering wheel airbag (11-14 breaks between the wrist & elbow... 2 of which pierced through my skin & I was bleeding out because one of those breaks severed my ulnar artery).
Just like the incredibly brave young woman in this video, I also was awake through the whole ordeal and never lost consciousness (not until I was at the hospital and was put under anesthesia). I stayed in the hospital 8 days and had a total of 4 surgeries. The severity of my injuries resulted in some pretty extensive nerve damage and limited range of motion (I couldn't even make a fist with that hand for a while). For months, my mom had to help me with basic things like taking a shower, getting dressed, applying deodorant, putting my hair up, etc. ...I learned very quickly that you truly don't realize how much you use your non-dominant hand/arm until you physically can't use it.
Today, the nerve damage is fully healed and physical therapy helped me get back to having almost full range of motion back in that arm.
Although my 8 days in the hospital and 4 surgeries doesn't even BEGIN to compare to her 7+ WEEKS in the hospital and 21+ surgeries (and at only 16 years old), it CERTAINLY DOES put into perspective just how and how strong and resilient she is (both mentally and physically) aftereverything she's been through!!
It's also a great reminder that, whenever we're going through a hard time (mentally, emotionally, and/or physically), we can ALL be as strong and resilient as she was/is if we have the will to fight and persevere and stay positive and open-minded through those hard times! ❤
What an amazing story❤️So glad to see her blessed and thriving🙌🏽 Were the other two friends in the car okay?
SHE WAS THE WHOLE TIME AWAKE!?!?!?! I thank God that she is alive and happy now. She is a great woman. I am so thankful that she did not had pain the whole time.
