My great grandparents left Scotland in the late 19th century, I must assume it's that Scottish blood that brings a knot in my throat and a tear in my eye when I hear the pipes.

Im from spanish heritage, so i love celtic traditions. Some dances from Asturias place are alike this one. In Asturias they play bagpipes too. Regards from Costa Rica🇨🇷 to Scotish people.

I love all the tartan plaids!!! I saw my families tartan!! Such wonderful dancers and truly fantastic musicians! Keep those traditions always! They are so important! Getting all goose bumpy and sniffly. It’s my Scottish heart hearing the heartbeat of my homeland! ❤️

My tartan is Wallace which comes from my dad’s side of the family. Most of the kilts that I wear are that tartan
I danced as a kid and love the fuzzy feeling when seeing highland dancers with live pipes n drums ❤

I think this so beautiful. I got the opportunity in 1986 to visit Edinburgh Castle and also some of the surrounding areas of Scotland. I might even have Scottish blood in my family tree. The dancing was incredible and beautiful. The Pipes and Drum Outstanding. Maybe, go back some day.
Just Awesome music and performance by the Dancers. Impressive athleticism combined with the live Bag Pipes must have been beautiful to see live.

It's a mixture of Celtic and Gaelic as the original Duke of Edinburgh (Duke Angus) was half Irish and half Scottish like his cousin King Robert of Scotland.

This is not simply about a centuries-old tradition. This is about that tradition evolving into the new era. Look at the faces of all those true Scottish ladies. There are more than a few whose ancestors were born far, far away from the old Highlands, yet still, they dance proudly, and Scotland is proud of them.

My grandparents genes hailed from 7 different European countries and I was born in New Zealand but there's something about the drum & pipes that makes my blood fill with adrenaline and my hairs stand up. Sometimes not sure weather to shed a tear or get ready to go over the top with bayonets fixed when I hear them, every time.
