of all flashmob videos, this is my favorite. they way they pulled it off and the tune selection and the tightness of the band. best damn piping i've heard in my life from a band. in these times of social distancing and worry over what's happening here, i have come back to this video to help lift my spirits. there must be something genetic in the celtic/pictish spirit for the pipes. they draw me like nothing else does. my family has been here long enough to help settle this country, when the frontier was just off the shoreline. we left scotland to get away from the british crown. but i hear the pipes and something comes over me. alba gu brath.
I mean, we did have a people group who do have a tradition of martial music. Too bad the Government decided to genocide these "Savages" instead of trying to coexist.
Look on line for Scottish Events !! They're extremely popular & a real hoot to experience ! The first one i went to , a guy had just tossed the caber and walked into the tent with food & drink in it - this guy was a huge redheaded barrel of a man , likley 320lbs with thighs the size of small trees - people cleared his way - as he walked ' " With Purpose " !! Lots of exhibits & trade crafts , now go find one !! Some do re-enactments of battles also ! Spring & summers .

So proud of my Scottish heritage! Born in Huntington, West Virginia, USA & live in Lilburn, Georgia USA. The annual Scottish Music Festival in Stone Mountain is something I look forward to & the closest I will ever get to Scotland, but oh my gosh the deep hearfelt connection I get at the festival! 💯😀😍❤
I grew up in an area of Detroit, Michigan known as historic Corktown. There a lot of history there. From the early settlers in Detroit. I recall St. Patrick's Day and the wonderful bagpipers! My dad, a WW11 vet, had a great send off. Bagpipers were in attendance, along with a 21 gun salute. The Army covered his coffin with our American flag, and presented it to my mother.
I was flying from U.S to U.K and one of my stops was in Dublin, Ireland. And there was so many different types of music being played. It was truly amazing and I loved hearing all that heritage in person. Keep up the good work and stay proud of where your roots grow!
Im getting tired of everyone hurrying to get their phones to record everything, can't we just enjoy the moment. I guarantee you won't forget this stunning performance, the mind is the best recorder ever invented.
It put me in tears watching this - tears of Joy to see it and hear it, tears of sadness that I was not there to witness it live. Long live the Scots. Long live the pipes!

I'm not from those parts - I'm across the pond. ♥️Loved it! (don't know why, but bagpipes always make me tear up) It was nice to see the men dancing! I've only ever seen the ladies! Love from Canada 🇨🇦

Bagpipes are one of those instruments that, if played in an "average" way, can sound terrible, but if played people with real talent, can bring tears to your eyes.
Excellent Piping from 4Scots, their hallmark, not to mention the brilliant Drumming and Highland Dancing. Yes, any young piper wanting to progress would do well to join 4Scots P&D's. Thanks for the great piece of video.
I am a Hong Konger who still crave for/miss such gorgeous bagpipe shows badly!!! It was always part of the military parades for the Queen's Birthday in April every year when the weather in HK was quite hot!!! It always boggles me how they could stand such intense heat in their thick costumes!!! Besides this and above all, I miss the superb British governance before the switch of sovereignty back in 1997!!!
Hk Lau - Thats why we Brits like the Chinese Hong Kong immigrants into UK more than any other. FAR more. Only the Sikhs adapt as quickly and completely into British way of life. We miss Hong Kong too
Hk Lau, I am American. It is currently fashionable in my country for Liberals to decry "colonial powers" of all stripes. I, for one, do not hold with that fashion. Without glossing over the offenses most colonial powers, including the British, committed, I sincerely believe much of the world was a safer, more humane and just civilization for subjects in many of the former colonies administered by the British.
In the city centre or the village square, the beautiful big voice of the bagpipes and the amazing uniforms are incredible and memorable. Thanks from England
Lovely. I'm sure the Queen is watching. She loves everything Scottish. Boy, do I miss the Queen Mother and Prince Philip. The world is at a lose without them. But I thank God every time I remember them.
As a teenager I was so privileged to be a part of The Black Watch drum and bugle corps from Auburn WA. It was an amazing experience that I will carry forever. Scotland has its history but modern day cities owe a lot to those who brought it about ages ago. Even the "anthem" of Scotland invokes memories of a day when a local warlord kicked out the UK army.
Oddly enough northern Ireland was the birth place of 1st ranger battalion. (Darbys rangers), they were also trained by the Irish too. Founded by col. Truscott.

As we all originated from tribes , rest assured that any who kept sheep , also have the same sort of diets and talents at converting certain pieces of them into bagpipes , ' canteens ' , water wings (!) , & so forth . Ask your relatives if any also have the plaid cloth designs in your backgrounds ; they indicated the families within the tribes - important stuff in battle or annual Spring Games - ( And Wife Gathering Fun-Fests ! Har ! ) MY dna indicates that I , with Celt background came from your general area to begin with ! ) Keep Grinning !
Tyvm even after many generations in USA I feel this in my blood. Weirdest thing every. God bless you for sharing I this will be around forever.
Makes me feel so proud of this sound of Scotland
Scotland’s culture, language and traditions have already pretty much died. It’s the job of my generation of young scots to preserve and built what we have.
@@rmac8378 Thats where you are wrong. In Canada the culture thrives, many immigrant scottish and irish to Canada will ensure that never happens.
WPM!
We do very well - when we lead .
Oh aye me to
of all flashmob videos, this is my favorite. they way they pulled it off and the tune selection and the tightness of the band. best damn piping i've heard in my life from a band. in these times of social distancing and worry over what's happening here, i have come back to this video to help lift my spirits. there must be something genetic in the celtic/pictish spirit for the pipes. they draw me like nothing else does. my family has been here long enough to help settle this country, when the frontier was just off the shoreline. we left scotland to get away from the british crown. but i hear the pipes and something comes over me. alba gu brath.
I wish we had more of this in the United States Of America 🇺🇸. This is beautiful! Love it! ❤️🎶❤️
I mean, we did have a people group who do have a tradition of martial music. Too bad the Government decided to genocide these "Savages" instead of trying to coexist.
Oh haha I was gunna say you’d be surprised how many people play the pipes in America. I just recently joined a band
You want AMERICAN patriotism....go to a #TRUMP RALLY 🐸🇺🇸💞
Look on line for Scottish Events !! They're extremely popular & a real hoot to experience ! The first one i went to , a guy had just tossed the caber and walked into the tent with food & drink in it - this guy was a huge redheaded barrel of a man , likley 320lbs with thighs the size of small trees - people cleared his way - as he walked ' " With Purpose " !! Lots of exhibits & trade crafts , now go find one !! Some do re-enactments of battles also ! Spring & summers .
my dad saved in the Royal Scott's during the war , he loved the pipes and so do his children and grand children, thankyou
I'm born in England, my mothers from Glasgow and that's what I put my love of the bagpipes down to.
Love that sound.
So beautiful to see freedom and the response to something positive being shared. This is a perfect example of Humanity enjoying each other. It's the simple things in life that are worth the most.
9-1-2020: Man, do we need this in U.S.A. right now.....peace.....
the redshirts? sure someone can play the bagpipe
The whole world is needing more of this this type of thing, because you take your culture to the public and you old an young stoping an passing on stories an learning. Thank you for not only expressing how you feel but letting others do the same while you play!
A BIG AMEN!!! A SCOT IN KANSAS:)
I will never tire of hearing the pipes!
SCOTTISH AND PROUD, HAIR ON THE NECK EVERYTIME.
WOW. I would be in my glory hearing this live. They're all so very lucky to have this. We need more of this in the world to come together. Thank you from America!
❤❤❤from New Zealand ❤ 🇳🇿. Everytime without fail Bagpipes bring a lump to the throat and happy tears. So does the last post from a bugle/trumpet on Anzac dawns. Im a mix of Irish n Scots and my dream is to visit the entire UK one day .
No Matter what you are doing or where you are...the Bagpipes remind us we are all the same somewhere inside us❤❤❤❤
The world needs more bagpipes..
ArcticHellfire Agreed, though I do know a lot of people that cannot stand the sound.
No, more cowbell.
The only problem with big pipes is the price.. look them up, things are expensive..
Yes, many more.
tough
There is nothing like the call of the pipes. 🇬🇧🏴
I miss Scotland.
Always loved the kilt. It is so smart.
Simply incredible, I have been to Scotland 2 times and the air that is breathed speaks of courage and emotion. I am Argentine but I adore his story of struggle and blood for freedom
Loved the sound of the pipes ever since I was a little girl, get that from me mum. She was from England but felt a strong love for the Scottish Highlands and the pipes. Such a haunting, beautiful sound.
This evokes history, pride and dedication. Sends chills up me back. Well done Scots.
Modern day Scottish town, centuries old tradition.
OMG...l love, love the pipes!!! Chills my spine and brings tears to me eyes😘 so deeply beautiful 😊 love the two admiring grannys😊. So proud to be of Scott and Irish heritage!
Scott is a name, you are of Scottish heritage. The people are Scots, single T. Scotch is the drink :)

Greetings from EuerMerkwürden🥰☮☯♾
I just found this video. My grandma was a Scott, and beautiful in her day. I love Scotland!
I'd give anything to be a place with a sudden Scottish Flash Mob! The excitement, my skin tingles, heart jumps a bit & I get tears of happiness every time I hear Scottish music!
Well done lads, that sound has been behind most events in the world. Food for the heart.
Im getting tired of everyone hurrying to get their phones to record everything, can't we just enjoy the moment. I guarantee you won't forget this stunning performance, the mind is the best recorder ever invented.
Ken Brown well anyone that does for me I’m happy
Im from Boston and until I get there I appreciate the recording
Your probably English..stop preaching
My grandfather served in the queens own highlanders, A.K.A one of the regiments That once constituted what is now 4SCOTS. This fills me with pride.
It put me in tears watching this - tears of Joy to see it and hear it, tears of sadness that I was not there to witness it live. Long live the Scots. Long live the pipes!
me too Frank...wakes the soul & it starts in my bones, then begins the flow of tears..and then..off i go dancing...every...time..i hear them..no matter where it be
thank you
good on ye frank
nicely said
My Great Grandfather was Anderson of Aberdeen and I use to love hearing him play the pipes....my hats to ya
I'm not from those parts - I'm across the pond. ♥️Loved it! (don't know why, but bagpipes always make me tear up) It was nice to see the men dancing! I've only ever seen the ladies! Love from Canada 🇨🇦
Fine turnout. Makes me so proud of our superb Highland Regiments. Thank you gentlemen, for your service.
The world is a better place with people dancing around bagpipes.
Corona is a lie. Dont be deceived. Take back what is yours. Our lives belong to us. Not the governments and corporations.
this still makes me smile every time i watch it...proud to be scottish x
Love to see traditional cultural events like these continuing on despite outside influences to be come cookie cutter nations.... Love from the USA to Scotland. 🤗🤗🤗💖💖💖
Your country is screwed because of people like you.
@Nettie Reynolds You are not right in the head.
I've noticed people either love or hate bagpipes. I don't understand the hate though. Love 'um!
I'm the only one in my family who doesn't run away at the first drone of the pipes inflating. no accounting for softie southerners …
@@franl155 Really! I'm as Southern as magnolias and sweet tea! I say yes ma'am, no ma'am, thank you ma'am, and please.Taught my kids to do the same. But my heritage is Irish,Scots, French and Native American. Definitely lean more towards the Scot,Irish, in looks and my love of bagpipes. Then theres also something to be said for Scotsman in kilts! Think Gerald Butler! Sam Heughan! Whoo Whee!
@@debbiefulton1001 - I meant "southerners" as in "Sassenachs" - ie Saxons, the English in general. Like most generalisations it's wildly inaccurate!
But I'm the only one I know of who loves pipe music, especially massed pipes and drums - it just reaches deep down inside me and grabs something. And oh, a man in a kilt …
@@franl155 ,fran, I've enough of the Scottish in me to know what a Sassenach is. I just can't recall them being called southern. Geographically I can see why that would be. But I don't think I have heard them called that before. God Bless a Scottsman in a kilt, worn proper.
@@debbiefulton1001 - I heard Sassenach to mean an English person it in a comedy show so I'm not sure how generic it is! I don't think "southerner" comes into it, really, can't think why I put that. Except that England is south of Scotland
I love Scotland. The nature, the people and the music!!!
I'm in Australia 🇦🇺 watching this now. Wonderful flashmob. Pipes & dancers.
Bagpipes are one of those instruments that, if played in an "average" way, can sound terrible, but if played people with real talent, can bring tears to your eyes.
It's not really a standalone instrument. You need several
Sitting here with tears streaming down my face ... this sounds stupendous .. memories of my childhood. Love it ... it's in my heart and soul
You fine Scottish gentlemen warmed this Irish American’s heart this St. Patrick’s day 2019. Bravo and thank you!
In the city centre or the village square, the beautiful big voice of the bagpipes and the amazing uniforms are incredible and memorable.
Thanks from England
2 scots = a brawl
3 scots = a riot
4 scots = a revolution
5 Scotts a ruling Empire over the British!!!
Hell yeah, well put, and said
Lol
@@fredfullarton7072 now your definitely dreaming.
@@newton18311 Maybe,.......but it's a lovely thought!
Love the pipes. My Grandfather played them. He played with 48th highlander in Canada. they make me cry, give me shivers, but am proud.
I’m not even Scottish, but the sound of pipes just makes me cry; so proud, so noble.
The Highlanders bagpipes sounded wonderful! Thank you for sharing. It's always relaxing to hear the bagpipes.
My heart swells so much to hear the bagpipes and drums!
Me too
The dedication, discipline and countless hours of rehearsal are returned in the sense of pride you feel being part of an amazing collaboration and experienced something rare enough that you take with you for a lifetime. Go get'em ladies from Hell!
My respects for Scotland culture, lovely people, good hosts, I hope to return one day, unforgettable experience.
With regards from Australia.
In a world gone crazy you keep it close to the ground. Thank you and God bless.
Love this! Makes me think of the FDNY Emerald Society Pipes and Drums back home in NYC. Beautiful! Just beautiful!
The sound of the pipes always stirs my soul. It's in my blood. Thanks.
Regional nationalism without invoking threats of chopping off Westminster's heads. Nothing better.
May the pipes ring forever!!!! Mcnelly!!!
Thanks for letting all of the listeners to here and see your Wonderful Music I will NEVER get to Scotland or to any place Over seas now but this way I get to go thanks so much
Scotland has its history but modern day cities owe a lot to those who brought it about ages ago. Even the "anthem" of Scotland invokes memories of a day when a local warlord kicked out the UK army.
ITS BEAUTIFUL...THANK U..GOD BLESS ALL...
BRAVO BRAVO BRAVO !
