    Hey Zsaris! What's up? I just had to drop a comment on your video because it was absolutely awesome! Your presentation was so much fun to watch, and I want to thank you for that.
    I loved how you explained the various functions in such a clear and exaggerated way. It made it super easy for someone like me, who isn't very tech-savvy, to follow along and understand. Your knack for breaking things down for us laypersons is truly impressive.
    I have to admit, I was dying to hear you perform more of those effects in a creative way.
    I can't wait to see what you come up with next. Your artistic passion and enjoyment for what you do really shine through and resonate with the audience. Keep up the fantastic work, and I'll be eagerly waiting for more of your awesome productions! Greetings from Cape Town-

    Could you please clarify why the lack of automatic harmony detection with piano or guitar is considered a downside? I'm new to this and trying to figure out if it’s still worth purchasing. I plan to use my piano and acoustic guitar with a Loudbox Mini amp while incorporating a vocal processor for live performances with friends. Would the inability to set the key automatically from my instruments be a significant limitation when playing guitar or piano, or would the vocal harmony features still be sufficient for my needs? Thanks in advance!

    • @zsaris
      @zsaris  9 дней назад +1

      @@lasolution365 from my experience using both machines that follows harmony and a dedicated vocal machine, it will always depend on what kind of performance you usually do.
      VE-22 is more for vocalists, and it's beefed up on effects and versatility for vocal processing. Which also explains why it's better operated by hand.
      VE-2 with harmony can be perfect for guitarists, I operate this by foot and the harmonies are dictated by the chords i produce in my guitar. Downside is, it sometimes don't blend when it's done on the fly. Though really handy for performance.
      Good thing about VE-22 even without the harmony detection is the harmonies are clean, with dedicated volume and key assignment per harmony. You won't worry about messing it up. It's just a matter of planning when to trigger your presets at dedicated parts of the song.

    • @zsaris

      Oh it's just a better angle to shoot from using the chair. The mic stand shelf is good for performances and make sure you use the L-type cables to make sure the VE-22 fits well. The stand blocks the cables with straight heads. Something to take note.

    Very well presented, but the device has one glaring omission to make it easily usable to singers who play guitar: an input and thru out for guitar. Lacking that, the unit needs you to set the key for every song in advance. With auto recognition via the guitar, it would be far more intuitive to use.

    • @zsaris
      @zsaris  9 месяцев назад +3

      I have the VE-2 and it provides the guitar input that you need. Getting the VE-22 or the VE-2 always depends on what you require.

    • @scottbecker3485
      @scottbecker3485 9 месяцев назад +4

      @@zsaris Thank you for your time in responding. Yes, the VE-2 definitely offers the guitar input, and indeed I own a VE-2 (and also a Boss VE-500). But when I heard about this new unit, I was excited, thinking perhaps Boss had improved on either the VE-2 or the VE-500, maybe with better harmony algorithms, greater processing power or a more streamlined user interface. Well, it seems they did improve on a lot of that, but why they decided to ignore guitar players who also sing, and make everyone set the key for their songs in advance, is a riddle to me. Phrased differently: How well does the device work at generating good harmonies if the singer fails to set the key of the song?

    • @BadMofoMusicCritic

      Honestly I’d rather not run my acoustic through a boss buffered pedal. Not hard to adjust key. Jmho

    • @scottbecker3485
      @scottbecker3485 9 месяцев назад

      @@BadMofoMusicCritic Yes, I agree about not sending my guitar through a buffered pedal. But is the VE-2 buffered or true bypass? Either way, I feed my VE-2 and VE-500 with a separate (split) signal which dead-ends at the harmony pedal. I send the other split signal through my high-end effects. Problem solved.

    • @zsaris
      @zsaris  9 месяцев назад +2

      @@scottbecker3485 VE-22 is more customizable for harmonies. With the VE-2, it relies on the notes that you play on the guitar and most of the time it's not accurate. Especially with the uncommon harmonies like a 4 and 6 instead of the usual 3 and 5.
      The VE-22 allows you to tweak and adjust how loud each harmony is. It blends better.

    Can I customize the harmony footswitch? I can see I can assign the effect mode instead of the harmony mode. However, it seems to be not possible to use more than one effect of the same group. For example, I want a distortion on footswitch 1, a short delay in footswitch 2 and a hall reverb on footswitch 3. Distortion and short delay they both belong to the category "effect" of the Boss VE-22.

    • @zsaris

      You can toggle Harmony on the menu Memory Pedal, Manual Pedal, and CTL 1, 2, EXP
      Best if you save your patches in sequence instead and activate the harmony and effect when you toggle it on your footswitch. Assign it to Memory Pedal.

    How to compare this Boss V-22 to the V-2 and how to compare them both to the TC_Helicon Voice Live Touch 2 which is amazing but ten years old now....
    What is worth now in 2024 to compare this Boss VE 22 to?
    Are these full sound interfaces that can take the phantom power needed for mics like the Shure SM 7 B with a Fethead?
    Thanks to anyone who really tested looping and recording with all of these and can advice me of quality differences and worth of price for what one gets as a singer and voice-over actor!

    • @zsaris
      @zsaris  8 месяцев назад

      To make it short, VE-22 is just for vocals, VE-2 has a guitar input that follows the harmonies of your chords.
      Voice Live Touch is great but I think they haven't been updating their line now. VE-22 has more updated sounds and more customizable compared to the former BOSS vocal processing pedals I've tried.
      It has phantom power, yes. I tried it with a RODE condenser mic and it works.
