I’m trying to decide between them but leaning towards Sony. I’m a Nikon shooter but the Z50 will be more expensive with the adapter, as heavy as a DSLR, with worse specs. I’d feel like a fool to pay more for less even though I know Nikon is top for image quality. But in the last few years Sony has supposedly really improved their colors and the A6400 is ranked amongst the top for accurate colour reproduction. I know it’s personal preference and wish there were more comparison images out there so I could really tell colour difference. For people with large hands and who need easier menu access I can see it makes a difference to go Z50.
A few things to maybe consider. You may find the Z50 deal where they throw in the adapter for free or very cheap. When I bought it, it was the same exact price as the A6400 with the adapter included. I’m not sure what you mean it is as heavy as a DSLR. The Z50 is really light and even with the adapter, it’s not heavy. The specs for me are pretty much the same as A6400’s specs with a few minor differences, like no LOG and 21mp vs 24. However, you can have a flat profile on the Z50 and it looks really good. Now, the A6400. What I really don’t like about it are the menus and dials. I find that only 1 dial instead of 2 is pretty much a deal breaker for me. It takes more steps when you want to change aperture, ISO and some other things. However, what I really like about the A6400 are the Sigma lenses. They are great. It all comes down to your preference. They are both good cameras. Good luck with your pick. Thanks for watching.
If I could find it as cheap as the Sony with an adapter I’d definitely buy it! Doesn’t matter how great a camera is if you don’t feel comfortable using it of course and I’m concerned about that as well. I guess it’s all relative to what you’re used to for weight. My current D5000 is 610g and it’s fine but definitely not light. Z50 (450g) + FTZ (135g) is basically as heavy for me. Not a deal breaker but lighter is nicer. Another issue for me is the top reason I’m wanting to buy mirrorless is the improved video AF functionality. I could get the widely beloved D750 for 800$ used so I’m having a hard time justifying that extra 400$ for a decent video option- I could buy a drone, a new phone with decent video etc for that kind of money. I know it’s more modern etc. but for my purposes its just not very affordable for the hobbyist. If I was okay with nothing but the kit lens it would be fine but I actually have the Sigma 1.4 for Nikon (they make them!) and I’m attached to that depth of field. The cost of an adapter really hurts it.
I agree. I’d never buy the adapter separately. It’s something like $350 CAD here. I don’t where you live, though. Here in Canada, it was on sale a few times and they threw the adapter in for free. And yes, mirrorless is better for video. I had the D750 for a long time, but I switched to mirrorless because of it. While the Sony might be lighter, it’s more awkward to hold. I’m sure most stores would let you hold both of them and you can decide which one works best for you. Either one of them will do the job, so whichever you pick will be a good pick.

The Sony has better autofocus, so I guess the Sony. Also, there are better f1.4 lenses for the Sony. There’s no f1.4 native lens for the Z50, I believe.
I can see it fine. Your phone’s brightness is too low. Also, it’s a standard dial that is there on pretty much every camera, so I’m not sure what the confusion is. 🤦♂️
I’ve just done the opposite and swapped z50 to a6600. Better is subjective to our specific needs I suppose and I’ll enjoy finding out if I agree with you on that point . My reason for swapping is the fact I’m unable to get batteries for it . Makes the camera unusable for my needs. I went for the a6600 because of the similar size grip and huge improvement on battery . Canon m50 ist also a good camera?
It depends on what your needs are. It’s a pretty good camera for vlogging, yes. The 4K is cropped, but usable. Autofocus is good in 1080p, but bad in 4K. I’d recommend getting a 22mm f2 lens from Canon instead of shooting on the kit lens. Even better, get a Sigma lens if you can.
Sony AF is amazing but Nikon design better cameras, change my mind.
I have Nikon D850, and I'm planning to buy Nikon Z50 for travelling. Thank you for the vid!!
Great! Z50 is great for traveling.
What about autofocus ?
Sony A6400 is better, but the Z50 is decent, too.

If this three issues you talked about is not a issue for me, then which one I should choose
Well, it’s difficult to say without knowing what and how you’ll be shooting. What do you need the camera for? Give me more details.
@@visualsbyst I don't want focus breath..the person infront should be in focus at movement of camera (prime lens 1.4)..
I shoot music videos..
The Sony has better autofocus, so I guess the Sony. Also, there are better f1.4 lenses for the Sony. There’s no f1.4 native lens for the Z50, I believe.
Bravo! Very pleasant and great music. Thank you 😊
3.00 what are you trying to show us in the dark?? 🤦
I can see it fine. Your phone’s brightness is too low. Also, it’s a standard dial that is there on pretty much every camera, so I’m not sure what the confusion is. 🤦♂️
NICE VIDEO !!!
Thanks for watching!
show speak so quietly..... It's annoying
So is what you said, because it made no sense.
Nice video...

Z50 is even better than the a6600
I haven’t used the A6600, so I can’t comment on that, but I believe you.
@@visualsbyst yes I had the a6600 and it can’t come close to the z50
I’ve just done the opposite and swapped z50 to a6600. Better is subjective to our specific needs I suppose and I’ll enjoy finding out if I agree with you on that point . My reason for swapping is the fact I’m unable to get batteries for it . Makes the camera unusable for my needs. I went for the a6600 because of the similar size grip and huge improvement on battery . Being a hybrid shooter I could never get all the shots I wanted. Otherwise I loved the camera
@@phillipdavidsutton5966 Wow, where do you live? I had no problem getting batteries for mine.
@@visualsbyst uk , I had one on back order for months and gave up in the end .
Cant watch it! Why do the review when the babies are sleeping and whisper??
Why not do it then is a better question!
False
Cool beans.
Because is more expensiveeeeee
I’m not sure what you mean. Which one is more expensive?
