I know someone who works for GM and was able too ride in one prior to its debut and I was impressed
It’s a shame that the Chevrolet Traverse has more cargo and third row passenger space than a full-size Toyota Sequoia. Not only that, but it has better technology and a superior design in my opinion too. You can get a fully loaded Traverse for less than $60k, about where a base Sequoia starts and I see this and the redesigned Acadia eating Toyota’s lunch in that regard.
Except, resale, quality & reliability. 😂
@@chrisb9478toyota reliability and quality has gone down. Look at the massive recall on the 6 cylinder hybrid powertrain.
Sequoia is flawed but it’s a different class of vehicle, grand highlander is the competitor to this and near the same size/price
@@chrisb9478 what superior resale, reliability and quality?? People don’t even want to pay MSRP for new Tundras and sequoias. Any comparable Tahoe equiped with Supercruise will have better resale value and reliability than a sequoia.
its in a dif class, morrrron
I have followed you guys since the beginning. Car Confections has the most thorough reviews covering all the best deets of the vehicles. I love that I do not need to commit an hour to watch one video. Thanks, Mason & Drew. Keep up the great work! 👌🏽
You should watch redline reviews.
Thank you, friend! We appreciate the kind words!
@@CarConfectionscan you please review the base model LS and do a road test and sound level check of how quiet and the six speaker sound system performance and can I get your email I would like to have you guys help us with our Hawaii design products we will be donating 20% of our proceeds to Lahaina Town Maui
Nice truck ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This going to be an absolute steal on the used car market in 2 years time. Prediction = $32,000 with fairly low kms.
Great job guys. I absolutely love that Traverse. It is the best looking in its segment. Both the interior and exterior are spot on. My wife and I am waiting to purchase one. Your review helps us even more solidify our purchase.
Terrific! Glad to hear that!
Excellent review as always!
Thank you! Cheers!
finally tryn to compete w Telluride
Thank you for the review! Could you comment on the engine performance? I test drove it. It does not feel it has a good kick. When I stepped down the gas, the turbo is very obvious, very dull to drive. Grant highlander has less horsepower, but it's very responsive and has a very good kick to it when you step down the paddle.
Some good options in this segment lately. Santa fe, traverse, acadia, telluride. Toyota and honda coasting on their reliability, they just seem dated at this point in comparison.
I just got a Grand Highlander, the quality of the Toyota was evident when I was shopping for a Honda Pilot replacement. I passed for the Honda as the V6 and interior was and is very dated. As for the Traverse and Acadia due to poor reliability and longevity of plastics I would not even consider them. The Telluride would be my last choice, they cut corners and the engine is dated and in need of replacement. the only hit I can give the Standard trim Grand Highlander is interior is a bit boring and the rear has no accents and very litte ambient lighting.
@@BaaSicStuff traverse and Acadia are both all new and real world reliability isn’t known quite yet but expected to follow Chevrolets pattern of improved reliability. The same plastics are found in all of their competitors. *gm* and Hyundai actually have the nicer interiors compared to the Japanese.
@@G-Rated I agree 💯
unfortunate that the engine isn't filmed but to be fair this is a car for people who don't care about engines
In Z71 trim, it is most certainly important.
Dang you just kill it that even Z71 with everything still no memory and cooled seats and no leather? that's a killer with it being $55k. Telluride gave you everything at this point
This is the best looking suv in the segment
I wish you could get all the upgrades from the RS on the z21😢
💯💯💯
From my understanding it doesn’t have a plate over the entire bottom only in the front.
It does have a special AWD system compared to other models.
This is a great vehicle to buy for a business deduction or if you get it as a rental for a week. As far as buying, it's going to be iffy with reliability. If buying, I'd go with Highlander or Pilot or if trying to save money then go with cx9.
I ordered a Z71 in April and it should arrive in the next two weeks. I really wanted the colour of your test model, but because GM, stupidly, opted to put red trim in all Travereses, regardless of exterior colour, I opted for a red exterior instead. I wish they would have stuck with a more neutral interior accent colour, because red looks good, but not when combined with most of the available exterior colours.
I was concerned about that too. A sales got mentioned some people are removing the trim and wrapping them. Not just for the color but also for the glare. Not a big deal to me, though, and I'm still considering.
Would love it more without the third row and a bench in the middle. I value cargo space and simplicity over the extra weight and cost of third row seating. Otherwise, love the new car, it's on my short list for a new daily driver.
I'm hoping you guys decide to buy a Toyota Crown Signia so I can watch your longterm ownership experience.
Thee things
1. GM puts the audio controls on the back of the steering wheel.
2. I've known people with GM's where the electronics begin to give out in a few years.
3. The 2.5 is impressive, but a pain to work on with the advanced head. So is the Mazda CX70 and CX90. The 3.3 belts are on the back of the engine.
I'm really leaning towards the '25 Honda Passport. The 3.5 is quick to the point where the posted HP is questionable. Then there's rumor they may go with a turbo 4. I hope not and they bump the six up.
It’s very nice with a lot of space, I love the color!
Very sexy car. Although the new equinox will be a more appropriate size for myself and I'm glad they have the same design elements. Love it
In today’s market, a family SUV with hybrid option is becoming a necessity. I wish they considered this before coming up with a brand new engine lineup in 2024.
You get an overworked 4 cylinder engine. ...
I’m concerned about the useful lives of these turbo 4s. Even changing the oil as recommended (a lot) isn’t going to help get this thing to 150k miles without issues. Big expensive issues.
The 2.5T is more than enough power for that kind of car. The new turbo max engines were torture tested for reliability. Just look it up.
I get cubic feet is something to mention but why does no one else seem to pull out the tape measurer and give real world numbers? Thank you for doing that
Our pleasure! Glad you find that helpful!
Funny that you keep talking fuel economy but you never talk about the fuel tank size, fuel autonomy is important too. Did GM ever shared the new reduced fuel tank size?
A metal skid plate and recovery hooks a few inches below 3 acres of glossy black plastic. Yeah, that says tough to me🙄 I don't understand why they had the need to put an entirely different turbo 4 in this pile. Why not use the pre-existing 2.7? If it fits in the Colorado, it should fit in this thing. The lower trims will dominate the rental car fleets, but you'd have to be nuts to pay $54k for this over a Grand Highlander or Pilot.
Blame Biden and the EPA. New requirements, 50mpg by 2030. They only want u to buy EVs even if we don’t want them and there’s zero infrastructures to support them.
?
Does this drive better than the Sorento with the 2.5t engine?
Yes and the Turbomax engine is more reliable.
What’s he cost of super cruise? I thought it was standard on all models?
It came on my RS for 3years, then you have to pay monthly
Can ya'll start doing actual 0-60 times? Thanks
Why the seats can't slide for 3rd row access? That is the exact pain General Motors have made. The engineers were way too lazy to make the seats slide
Nice, but that red carbon looking trim is horrendous. Hopefully that's an option.
just checked the builder, its not and its in the RS model. Ew
Consumer reports score in the lows 60s guaranteed
Ground clearance is a bit disappointing for a Z71. Needs another inch.
90k?
Tahoe vs traverse?
I have always liked chevrolet, but if chevrolet does not have an upgrade option to a V6, i will need to find an alternative. Sorry, no turbo 4 for me.
(Men over 50).
Jeez a 4cyl. *Sigh.
It's just hard for some of us to except that the Future of big family vehicles is 4 cylinders & Hybrids.. yup😏
I guess I'm alone in preferring the look of the first gen Traverse.
after hearing news about Toyota and mazda manipulating safety result. Im more leaning towards chevy traverse.
GM trashed it with that garbage turbo
I mean it’s a good turbo though compared to most turbos.
You have to do acceleration in the sport mode
Put in a Ls V8 and Chevy will have my money
It is absolutely killing me that they made that stupid red color on the doors and dash a standard thing.
تشبه تويوتا فورشنر
Am I wrong or should THIS have been the new Blazer?
That shape is so Telluride
It’s so Tahoe, which is where the Telluride got its shape from.
That ground clearance isn’t impressive. What’s worse, the regular versions ground clearance. Big heavy crossover plowing snow is all I see.
more like a Traverse-ty
Car Confections!!!! I'd advice you to get a team to delete these horrible comments in your feed. I just watched the 2024 Chevy Traverse on Raitis and the comments were more indepth about appreciation for GMs new models. These ppl don't sound like they know Cars nor what's actually a good deal.
A civic engine on a mid size suv 🥱
Needs better wheels, lose the black cladding. Looks okay, but meh.
Would have bought it if it weren’t for the ugly red trim inside by the door
Don’t let the numbers fool you. This thing is super slow. 7.8s 0-60. The older v6 was almost a second faster
With a 4 cylinder, it’s a hard no.
It needs a v8
American made SUVs still are very bloated in design with fenders, plastic, and seeing no memory seats!?! How do you figure Chevy? I got a car 10 years old and got that.
Get someone 6ft tall to judge roomieness.
The shifter on the steering wheel is a disaster. Drivers are going to reach for it when it starts to rain. I know my wife would.
Has been standard on Mercedes for a decade, amongst others out there…
Turbo engines
The majority of the driving public do not know enough about engines, turbos, cubic inches, torque and horsepower to care. Just like an air compressor, the higher the pressure you run it the shorter the life of the pump, a car engine is a pump. Turbos pressurize the engine to falsely make it put out more power and you have Turbo lag before it engages. The 4 cylinders lose power as they get more miles on them, there is no substitute for cubic inches, horsepower and torque. I have built engines and turbo's boost the pressure into the small engines creating more power at the expense of the life of the engine. Your maintenance cost will exponentially increase with a turbo when it fails. Any economy you may have gotten from the turbo will be totally lost on the replacement cost of the turbo. This vehicle is way too large/heavy for a 4 cylinder. A long list of gadgets will not negate the lack of power from a 4 cylinder, not to mention the turbo lag when you need all the power from the small 4 cylinder. GM has lost this customer. We have a 2017 ACADIA V-6, 34 MPG highway.
Turbo 4? Yeah, no thanks.
No memory seats on a $50k SUV in 2024? Come on Chevrolet…
1st
Darn, why all the interiors are soooo boring. The Santa Fe and Telluride nails them. Dont even think about Toyota, thats your grandpas car and it will probably be cause they last.
My god that is an ugly P05
Great review, nice car but 💩 color
Thanks!
So stupid to put captain seats in a family suv. What if you have 5 passengers. Put 5th one in 3rd row and cargo next to him, or in between the 2nd row seats. Chev should give buyers choice between the 2 seats.
" GM " only out to overprice their vehicles which are " GARBAGE " ‼️
