    Prior to buying this, Denali, I owned two traverses and they were both pretty good cars. I treated in my last reverse for this Denali because of the added trim level and overall quality of its appearance. I waited about four months for the car to arrive and it drives quite while. I am very disappointed in the engine noise, particularly at heavy acceleration. It sounds almost as if it has a motorcycle engine in it. My traverses were much quieter. Once up the cruising speed, the car performs very well and has a lot of cool features, but I would not buy another one because of the engine noise. I think General Motors could have done a much better job of insulating the noise from the cabin. my car has an active noise management system, which may not be working well, but the dealer says they have no way of testing it. I am a hard-core by American guy and I’ve always bought General Motors product and most of the time very satisfied. I think this will be my last GM product. I was surprised to find out then unless you activate the OnStar system you don’t get all the functionality of CarPlay. It requires a subscription. Even though the new car comes with a three year subscription plan free of charge I feel that we are being held hostage. I find myself not using, their OnStar system I much prefer just using my Apple iPhone. If you were considering buying this car, please take it for a long ride and check out the engine noise.😢

    @Car Confections you need to address the greed factor these auto companies are starting to embrace with their "pay-to-play" features. I have been a loyal GM customer for over 30 years. I, for one, will be looking for an alternative to GM next time because I am not interested in a monthly bill in order to use the features of the vehicle I already paid for. It may prove impossible to purchase a new auto without, in which case, I will be actively searching the used market for a suitable older vehicle and i will happily do whatever I need to maintain it. The thought of purchasing a $60,000 auto and then having to pay a fee to use it's installed options is just one step too far in my book and I am certain there are many who agree with me. Not that the auto makers will care.....

    What's the point of making a big family vehicle without the option of a bench seat? Its stupid decisions like this that annoys me with a lot of modern vehicles. They focus more on luxury and gimmicky features than hauling actual people, lol.

    • @kingjulien9525
      @kingjulien9525 3 месяца назад +5

      I can agree more with you. I'm aware that Captain seats are for a certain clientele, but I'd rather have my extra seat and not using it at all than not having it and needing it. I'm looking in the market for a family suv, this doesn't qualify already. Bummer!!

      The point is it gives you greater access to the third row and provides a more up scale ride for second row people. While it does make seating for small kids less accommodating. It makes seating children in the 3rd row much easier.

    • @Zeek509
      @Zeek509 3 месяца назад +4

      @JAKtheRipper333 My point is thats stupid and less practical for this class of vehicle, especially considering they brought the Acadia back to its larger size but chose not to offer the same amount of seating as the original. 🤷🏾‍♂️ The fact that NO bench is offered on any trim is a step backwards imo.

    It would be interesting if you did TWO "sound readings" on your next vehicle, one with the moonroof shade open AND another with it closed, to see the difference ( I know your camera would have to be "unstuck" from the bottom of the moonroof for that test ) I've had several GM vehicles over the years, and I've always noticed a difference with the shade closed - including my CT6, Enclave and current Envision. Great review, as usual - I've been thinking about a Yukon, but now that the Acadia is a little larger, I'm thinking more about buying one. ( I just wish GM wouldn't make these nice wheels ONLY available in a package - I like these new wheels, but I don't want to pay for super cruise, when I'd never use it ).

    Been waiting for your review on this one. I had almost purchased a lexus tx350 but waited to drive the acadia denali first. I ended up ordering the same car in your video just in steerling gray. I felt the lexus rode a bit smoother but overall liked the acadia better. The power as compared to the lexus turbo 4 cyl the acadia felt better. The interior of the acadia just has more usable space and works better with a family that has small children and car seats. Very hard thing to know without trying it yourself but numbers aside a rear facing carseat fits better in the acadia than a tx, leaving more leg room in the front seats. This is mostly due to the front seat back design/curvature that does not really affect the leg room but rear facing car seats. I also feel that if you are a larger person the seats in the acadia are roomier and more comfortable. Aside from styling preferences the only place I think the TX has the acadia beat on the interior is the third row which is the best one that Ive seen in its segmant by far but just not the most important thing to my family. Your guys reviews definitely played a big part in my vehicle choice. Thank you for all your videos!

    The 2024 GMC Acadia needs a 40/20/40 second row bench seating and the 2.7 Turbo Engine found in the Canyon and Chevy Colorado pickup trucks. These changes would reduce engine & parts inventories and production costs. These type of vehicles do not need paddle shifters which would reduce manufacturing costs. I would like to see more of the Elevation Trim having 18 inch wheels especially since most Roads in the Northeast US are horrible. Great Show!

    I'm sorry but for such a large vehicle now. They should have definitely kept the V6. I'm also not a fan of the column shifter stalk. That went away in the mid to late 90's. Why bring it back again after folks have gotten used to console shifters and dials. A console dial would have been a lot more classy and less cluttered looking. And much less confusing for folks to use. Otherwise, it's a beautiful SUV but the engine is the deal breaker for me.

    At the rate with Toyotas new engines literally blowing themselves up and the grand highlander having electrical issues this GMC is the way to go. Uses the new highly marked 2.5L and a bulletproof 8 speed wrapped with a nice design and interior not made of plastic makes this great.

    I sat in a new one last week. The bump on the floor where your left foot goes was a deal breaker for me. I'm 6'2" and my left leg couldn't stretch out due to the bump, if it wasn't for that I may have bought it. We found and ended up buying a used 2022 Buick Enclave Premium since it had more leg room. Hope the Enclave doesn't give me too many problems. I bought an extended warranty with it from Carmax - crossing my fingers on this one.

      I can't believe it's 2024 and folks still don't understand trim-level pricing on vehicle tiers.
      I just popped onto the BMW website and built an X5 with all-wheel drive, leather interior, and the executive package and it quoted me $78,225.
      Sure, if you want an entry-level X5 that is NOT all-wheel drive, DOESN'T have leather, and DOESN'T have the majority of tech this Denali trim Acadia has, you can get it for $65K, but then it becomes about badge loyalty more than vehicle value.
      If at the end of the day you just have to have the BMW, then I get it, but to toss your comment on here as if a similarly spec'd X5 is only $65K is misleading and a laughably poor argument as to why not to purchase this vehicle.

    I'm so disappointed in GM for the engine they put in the new Acadia & Traverse. My wife and I test drove one 2 days ago for her next SUV. We were so unhappy. It's very underpowered and works way to hard going up just slight hills. Should have stuck with the naturally aspirated V6. I mean, the Yukon, which is not much bigger now, has a V8! The interior is nice and we were pleased with everything except the engine. Shame!

    I think engine noise is cool and al UNTIL you have a kid in the backseat who only wants to whisper and wanting to carry on a conversation with your passengers OR talking on the phone. Nothing worse than having to ask people to speak up or repeat themselves. I really don’t think “engine noise” should be as big a factor as you make it out to be.

    Turbo engines
    The majority of the driving public do not know enough about engines, turbos, cubic inches, torque and horsepower to care. Just like and air compressor, the higher the pressure you run it the shorter the life of the pump, a car engine is a pump. Turbo's pressurize the engine to falsely make it put out more power. The 4 cylinders lose power as they get more miles on them, there is no substitute for cubic inches, horsepower and torque. I have built engines and turb's boost the pressure into the small engines creating more power at the expense of the life of the engine. Your maintenance cost will exponentially increase with a turbo when it fails. Any economy you may have gotten from the turbo will be totally lost on the replacement cost of the turbo.
