The MDX has a MUCH better driving experience than the TX. The Double wishbone front suspension alone is much more sophisticated than the TX. I’m not sure what they were thinking when judging these.
I expected the MDX, X5, or GV80 to be #1 so I'm really surprised the TX won. Maybe it's one of those cars that feels a lot nicer in person than the pictures. However, from what I've seen in reviews and in pictures, it doesn't look that much nicer than a Grand HIghlander and feels too Toyota.
X5 doesn’t even belong on this list, if you look at the title, this list is for 3-rows, the X5 is a 2-row, as much as I dislike the GLE, it makes sense to put the GLE on this list as Mercedes offers an optional 3rd row
Lexus is made by Toyota. It's their luxury brand. I do agree that Lexus should have made their vehicles feel more luxurious. They should have done something interior wise to make them stand apart from their regular Toyota Grand Highlander models. Consumers can just save money and buy the Grand Highlaander.
@@annettegiron786 Lexus been ditching their old beautiful interiors with wood everywhere in favor of cheap plastics, gloss black, and trying to add some extra tech without going overboard, and the result is a car that just doesn’t look much nicer than its mainstream relative, while there are no performance gains being same platform, engines, everything.
The Aviator looks the best out of all these and drives best and has 400hp. It would be my choice for sure. Then the Genesis then the Acura. Most of these dont even have a plethora of colors to choose from especially BMW, Mercedes, Volvo etc....black gray white silver
As much as I love my mom’s 2023 MDX Advance, the TX definitely deserved 1st place on this list. The TX is the one to buy if you’re going to use the 3rd row regularly however for us the MDX is a better choice as we rarely use the 3rd row, like the wood trim in the MDX, like the N/A V6 in the MDX, and like the driving dynamics of the MDX (best part of the MDX over the TX). I do feel the MDX should’ve got a 2 in the space category though (3rd row has decent room, but it’s def tight compared to something like a Lexus TX, trunk is large though). Also IMO the Acadia Denali doesn’t belong on this list. It just doesn’t seem luxurious to me. You guys should’ve def put the top-trim Mazda CX90 on this list though, that’s a true luxury SUV. I feel like the MDX, TX, and CX90 are the top 3 choices for a Japanese luxury SUV, new QX60 is a chronically sad joke from my experience as it drives poorly. Between the CX90, MDX, and TX, I think the CX90 is best for sportiness, TX is the best for comfort, MDX is a blend of the two. TX is ofc the way to go if you’re going to use the 3rd row regularly however, I just wish the TX used more wood trim and better ambient lighting.
You need to do a kennel test. A lot of people have dog kennels and want to know what size kennels will fit in the back with the third row folded down. The three most popular sized kennels are the RuffLand X-Large, Large, and Intermediate sizes. I am shopping for a SUV and need to know what size kennel will fit in the back. Also, If the back lid will close properly. If the folded down third seat is flat enough to hold the kennel without rocking. And will the kennel fit lengthwise or sideways with a side door entrance option. It would be REALLY nice if you could do a kennel size fitting test on SUVs since nobody else is doing this and this would be a great way to show the amount of space you actually have in the back of each SUV. Hope you do this, since this is a huge buying factor for people with dogs and kennels.

Besides not having a more powerful engine option, the QX60 is on par with the MDX. I really can’t understand how the MDX gets a pass with all of the piano black trim inside AND not having any AC vents on the 3rd row. I think the QX60 is nicer inside and has more family friendly features. I know people/reviewers rave about the MDXs handling, but I doubt most people that buy it do so for THAT reason.

I'm not sure one can give the #1 spot in the 'Best Luxury Midsize' category to a vehicle that you rank 2.5 for the Luxury category... The very essence of buying in this segment are the 'Luxury' features. Lexus, while being a very nice vehicle, has been living in the middle of the segment for awhile now. So far as materials used inside the cabin, how far you have to climb the trim levels to get to a Pano sunroof etc, it falls short from the #1 spot. It really belongs a ranking in the middle of the class. Appreciate your informative vlogs. I understand that your rankings are yours and are subjective. I just value the Luxury/Tech/ride portion more than space for example

@@CarConfections While I understand that you are trying to develop a methodology for 'fair' analytical rankings, I believe that you need to tweak it a bit based on the category. Loved your review and style, it was the first time I wathed your video. I have a question, why did you miss talking about the Pallisade, Telluride, CX-90 or Atlas. Atlas would have scored really well on those 5 parameters
I can afford to buy any of these SUV's but I'm choosing the Acura MDX. I'm deciding between the new model or getting a 2024 model since I'm not fond of the touch-screen or the new B&O audio system (I've heard them both and the ELS is superior). The Mercedes is nice, but I plan to keep this vehicle for many years so no way I'm buying German.
Really like these comparison videos and ranking videos. Not sure top spot belongs to the Lexus here but then again I haven’t been in this one so there’s that. I’d love a ranking of luxury suv, non 3 row with a lower cost value. I’m not sure if that would still mid sized to sub compact. But I’d love to see close to a 5 in all areas, like the BMW and Mercedes but high on reliability too. 3rd row and cargo is less of interest… you know for the people who don’t drive around kids.
I honestly think the all new GMC Acadia should’ve been #1 as it offers the best combination of reliability, resale value, luxury, space, and class leading technology. It’s also got a very powerful 4-cylinder engine that makes more power than the base TX 4-cylinder. The Lexus falls behind the all-new Acadia Denali tremendously in the luxury department, while the Acura is leaps and bounds behind GMC in the technology category. The Acadia isn’t as sporty as the BMW, Mercedes or Genesis but they aren’t nearly as spacious in the third row or practical for cargo behind it as the Acadia. The GMC has the most upscale exterior styling and the better well rounded vehicle for $65k imo.
@@MediaRoom728 problem for who, Lexus? Acura? Infiniti? *GMC* doesn’t have any problems. Their new Acadia looks more upscale than all of the offerings from the Japanese luxury brands, it’s far more luxurious than the TX, and has better technology than both the MDX & TX. GMC’s ATP is substantially above that of Lexus and they’ve also surpassed them in reliability as of Feb. 2024. The numbers actually show the higher the price point, the more desirable around town ‘GMC’ is over Lexus.
When I see TX is number one, I’m happy, because my top specs cx90 beats its in almost every category except space, it’s only 55k and “non-luxury”, obviously it won’t make the list. I parked next to my neighbor’s X3, I often wonder, at the same price, who is the real BMW.
It’s supposed to be in the list.. that’s what Mazdas target marketing is all about. Don’t know why it wasn’t because they’ve been a quirky and special premium product for decades now
It simply gets high scores in 4 out of 5 of the most important categories. As stated in the video, if luxury is your number one concern the TX scores lower than its rivals in this regard
XC90 is garbage, MDX is amazing but less space than the TX, Acadia Denali and X5 didn’t belong on this list (X5 is 2-row, Acadia doesn’t seem luxurious), CX90 should’ve def been on this list though
Even though i have 2020 Lexus es350, i am disappointed at TX being at the top of the list. Plug in or hybrid doesn't matter it looks like a bus and drives like one too. Georgetown built Lexus are crap. I know how well i have one. Only + is that sweet NA V6 other than that Nothing solid when comparing to Japanese built Toyota and Lexus.
You need another category - Maintenance/Servicing. Unfortunately both the Benz and BMW would score a one! Most expensive servicing and parts out there! Most people that drive these just lease them or are very rich.
@@jeffsena9140 These BMW maintenance programs cover all factory-recommended maintenance(oil changes, wheels rotated, fluid changes;etc), not major engine issues and parts. 💰💰💰 Warranties are only as good as the company that backs them. I had a Honda Odyssey with a VCM engine. The VCM caused the engine to misfire which is common. American Honda voided my full powertrain warranty claiming the VCM is not covered. I sued them for forty thousand and one. Took over a year. After I won I fixed the engine myself with a 60 dollar VCM blocker. American Honda could not install or even mention to me to use a VCM blocker since it would void the billions they get from the government for increased mileage gained using the VCM designed engine. Never buy a 6 cylinder Honda with a VCM and NEVER TRUST YOUR FACTORY CAR WARRANTY.
The title says "BEST Luxury Midsize 3-Row SUV's" . I'm curious of why the BMW X5 on the list? It is only has 2 rows. You should have rated the X7 instead of the X5.
With reliability and resale at the top of the list, there are really only two to pick from: Lexus or Acura. The rest will eat up your wallet with depreciation and crazy costs for the simple things like an oil change.
@@MediaRoom728Most people do, excluding the Jeep. You must be rambling solely based upon an outdated *brand perception.* GMC is ranked above Lexus in reliability as of Feb. 2024. Lexus and Toyota owners have been enjoying all of their recalls lately so I’m not sure what you mean.

@@Anonymous-so4nlI think the Jeep in top-trims can pass as luxury, the Acadia Denali can’t (no idea why it was on this list)
Awesome video guys!
What happened to the gv80 very good value?
Reliability
Excellent review. Can you also share the top 10 non luxury mid size 3row SUVs now? Looking forward to that video from you soon!
Thank you! We actually already have a video about that from the beginning of the year and you can find it in the Other playlist on the channel 👍
Safety should be a 1 on the TX given the airbag issues! 😂
Filmed before that issue cropped up
excellent video.. How come Audi Q7 didn't make in the top 10.. Also what about Range Rover?
Thanks! Primarily, it's small and lacks functional features for families
Excellent review but you missed one key feature for determining the score which is the exterior design. I am also surprised to see X5 reliability higher than the Merc.
You should also have to make the rankings of pickup trucks
Can't believe the QX60 didn't make your list??
Loved your review and style, it was the first time I wathed your video. I have a question, why did you miss talking about the Pallisade, Telluride, CX-90 or Atlas. Atlas would have scored really well on those 5 parameters
Thanks! In this countdown, we were only including luxury brands. Those models appear on the mainstream list.
Did you film that in ur new Camry? Damn that thing looks like luxury!
I think they’re in a 3-series.
This is our BMW 3-Series although they do both have red interiors 👍
Nice comparison.
Thanks!
In the ranking, why not include how many generations for the make and model ? Seems that might be an important consideration.
What about the Q7 ?
Excellent video!
Thank you very much!
No mention of the Mazda CX90, it does not even make the honourable mentions ?
this video is practically helpful to potential buyers looking for 3 row midsize family SUV!
Gas and safety features as well as luxury is my choice
Can we get this for the non-luxury 3 rows?
ruclips.net/video/mN0IcVPT1XI/видео.htmlsi=iLSggEQ8IWq3qob0
I’m confused. Does the X5 have a third row? If not then why is it in the 3 row category
X5 and GLE have available third rows
No Infiniti qx60?
What about the Infiniti Q60?
plz do lincoln cars review
Did you guys do the same rating for non luxury SUV
Yes: ruclips.net/video/mN0IcVPT1XI/видео.htmlsi=YIjnKHLJ-BikG6v2
Need to add a 6th category for maintenance/ warranty
How could you sit in the Genesis and not feel like you’re driving a pumpkin? 🤣
great review , prices would have been helpful
What vehicle are you in during the video? The interior is perfection 😍
Thanks, it's our BMW 330e with Tacora red interior
We need the best second row
Nice!
TX midsize? MDX #6?(#1)!
What about the durango😊
No one wants to be caught riding around town in a GMC Acadia. Therein lies the problem.
4 cylinders on a mid size 3 row suv is not generally loved by the journalists
You are correct.
Junk
@@MediaRoom728 problem for who, Lexus? Acura? Infiniti? *GMC* doesn’t have any problems. Their new Acadia looks more upscale than all of the offerings from the Japanese luxury brands, it’s far more luxurious than the TX, and has better technology than both the MDX & TX. GMC’s ATP is substantially above that of Lexus and they’ve also surpassed them in reliability as of Feb. 2024. The numbers actually show the higher the price point, the more desirable around town ‘GMC’ is over Lexus.
Does Tesla model Y 7 seater count ?
WHY IS AUDI Q7 AND BMW X7 NOT IN THIS LIST?
When I see TX is number one, I’m happy, because my top specs cx90 beats its in almost every category except space, it’s only 55k and “non-luxury”, obviously it won’t make the list. I parked next to my neighbor’s X3, I often wonder, at the same price, who is the real BMW.
It’s supposed to be in the list.. that’s what Mazdas target marketing is all about. Don’t know why it wasn’t because they’ve been a quirky and special premium product for decades now
What about Lexus UX 300 ?
2024 Chevy Suburban is the best 3row SUV. Enough space for 8 people and their luggage.
Are you worried about the “new engine” in the TX?
I personally don’t see how the Lexus won. It’s not much of an upgrade from the Grand Highlander.
My feelings exactly. I would rather take the grand Highlander platinum with the hybrid max over any of the TXS.
@@linhunnicutt6556 I actually think the grand highlander looks better too
@@limitedreach4446 the Lexus deserved to lose badly. They don’t know anything
@@Carfan678most definitely. The grand Highlander is a much better looking vehicle than the Lexus TX.
It simply gets high scores in 4 out of 5 of the most important categories. As stated in the video, if luxury is your number one concern the TX scores lower than its rivals in this regard
TX? over mdx, xc90 is crazy!
XC90 is garbage, MDX is amazing but less space than the TX, Acadia Denali and X5 didn’t belong on this list (X5 is 2-row, Acadia doesn’t seem luxurious), CX90 should’ve def been on this list though
My favorite SUV's are the Mercedes-Benz GLS 450d 4matic, and the Cadillac Escalade-V series
Infiniti QX 80 ?
WTF fact! in Chicago (in uber company) lincoln aviator considered as black SUV, lexus tx not even xl only black !
What about the bmw x7???
You need another category - Maintenance/Servicing. Unfortunately both the Benz and BMW would score a one! Most expensive servicing and parts out there! Most people that drive these just lease them or are very rich.
BMW offers three years of free maintenance, Mercedes doesn’t . Most are leased for that term.
@@jeffsena9140 These BMW maintenance programs cover all factory-recommended maintenance(oil changes, wheels rotated, fluid changes;etc), not major engine issues and parts. 💰💰💰
Warranties are only as good as the company that backs them.
I bought a used Cadillac XT6.
You should make one for non luxury vehicles for 2025 ! :)
We will 👍😁
Surprised xc90 is the last option
The title says "BEST Luxury Midsize 3-Row SUV's" . I'm curious of why the BMW X5 on the list? It is only has 2 rows. You should have rated the X7 instead of the X5.
@@sheila971-gr8 Hi. We consider X7 and GLS full-size SUVs (comparable to something like an Escalade) due to their size and pricing
With reliability and resale at the top of the list, there are really only two to pick from: Lexus or Acura.
The rest will eat up your wallet with depreciation and crazy costs for the simple things like an oil change.
That is the most delusional thing ever, especially with Lexus reliability and Acura resale on a steady decline.
@@G-Rated thank you. Enjoy the joy of owning a Mercedes, Audi, GMC, BMW or Jeep then.
@@G-Ratedthe delta between a similarly equipped Acura vs. Mercedes/BMW/Audi is like $20k. Very difficult to recoup that premium over the life of a car. Maintenance costs are also outrageous on the European cars compared to the Japanese.
X5 it’s better and real luxury SUV for 2024/2025 inside his category
Tx 🎉🎉
so basically... if space isnt your primary factor.. the BMW or Mercedes are better. And if those ARE you primary factor, get the GLS or x7 anyway
How can Acadia and germans be ahead of MDX???
Anyways MDX is Segment King🎉🎉
Think they should separate mdx from mdx type s
Why? MDX Type-S is just an enhanced regular MDX with low-profile tires that go flat easily on bad roads (my parents cross-shopped both), both are amazing for luxury and comfort, but if you want performance, get something German
@@CarGeek360 enhanced enough to rank a lot higher here. Acceleration and handling are next to BMW X5, which ranks top 3 here. Regular MDX can not stand for type s.
@@caesarjulis7077 nope, the BMW X5 outperforms the MDX Type-S SIGNIFICANTLY, don’t even TRY to compare the 2
@@caesarjulis7077 neither the regular MDX nor the Type-S MDX are quick, the BMW X5 is quick, even the base ones, truth is the X5 will always be a better performer than the MDX, the BMW handles MUCH better than the MDX too even the Type-S, that’s why my dad is getting a X5 and he will NOT even consider a MDX (my mom has a MDX Advance tbf but she doesn’t care about performance)
@@CarGeek360 when and where did I say type s is faster or comparable to X5 ? I said NEXT to here. Is that hard for u to understand ppl ?
No Sequoia?
Well damn the QX60 didn't make it on the list.
New QX60 is horrible from my experience, bad ride quality, tons of body roll, flimsy scroll wheel for infotainment, laggy infotainment system overall
TX is the laziest luxury vehicle done by Toyota. Even Infiniti did a much better job with the QX60.
I just want to know how a vehicle made the #1 spot isn’t even allowed to be sold right now due to a massive defect… how does anyone actually recommend this
This video was made before the recall and stop sale. But it will be re-entering production in a matter of days.
