Each of these three-row SUVs brings something to the table, so what's the most important factor for you if you're shopping for a family vehicle? Let us know in the comments below!
A comparison of ride quality (acceleration, breaking, handling, suspension comfort, cabin noise, etc) is really missing in this video, which is no less important for many. Please also consider this and other important criteria in your future comparisons.
The Kia and Toyota both don't have bench seats for the top trim and only the VW and Honda does but Honda is pretty old for all the factors, so VW wins I think if you need bench seats and the top trim.
Grand highlander front looks like a fish 🐟 . Back looks like a stretch rav4. They should have just called it the grand rav4. It's not good-looking. How can you make a car thats supposed to look lik3 the highlander but better look like a stretch rav4. If I'm paying that type of money for this car which is 50k plus. I'm not trying to buy something that looks like a stretch 30k suv.
Now if you consider the market mark up each brand’s dealer charge is insane. KIA dealer here charges an insane 6K over MSRP on top of the dealer add on packages. So you are looking at a 10k over MSRP.
How can a comparison of family haulers like these not have a word about ride quality? I know there's a comfort category in the comparison, but that was more about interior amenities/space than ride quality, as indicated in the video. That's a major omission imo.
Probably because it would have dropped the telluride down, and most of these channels love the telluride. I drive the new pilot, grand Highlander and telluride and I would say the pilot has the best driving dynamics and drivetrain refinement.
@@Petchyalater If that's true, then it's even more of a reason to include ride quality in the review since, if you're going to cover the main aspects of a family hauler in a quick review, ride quality needs to be one of them. It's certainly more important to me than commenting on the looks of each vehicle's interior, as the reviewer did, which I can see for myself.
Out of all the vehicles I test drove, the Honda Pilot got my heart immediately. It sits high up with A LOT of visibility, drives so lightly/smoothly, is spacious with the usability of a minivan, and has a naturally aspirated V6. Not to mention the high resale value with 55% after 5 years. Honda really knows how to tune their I-VRTM transmission because the drive train was incredible. Honda for me.
@@andresmattos7541 I don’t mind the bland design of the new Honda Pilot. All I need is a work horse that I could abuse around for years with high resale value. Don’t even get me started with the Korean recalls, especially their engine fire risks. It got so bad that even the federal agency had to step in and mandate recalls. People are even advised to not park their Hyundai/Kia cars in the garage for those spontaneous combustions even when the engines are turned off. And yes, it’s for 2023 models as well not just “pReVIous yEaRS”
@@lane5686 "NHTSA REPORT ON HONDA RECALLS: If the vehicle is involved in a crash to the left front fender area under certain circumstances, a short circuit to the power circuit can occur and the battery cable can overheat, increasing the risk of a fire and/or injury." 😂😂 Well its a matter of time when a Honda will catch fire too, so we now we both agree that kia/hyundai and japanese cars do have bad apples and they are both relatively reliable, so I rather take the one that is not bland and boring one and that is not the Honda.
You should have mentioned the trim levels of the vehicles you reviewed. The Kia EX trim level doesn't have the remote second row seat release from the back like you showed. Also, oddly enough, the lower trim models have the backup collision warning, but nothing for the front. I've owned my 2023 Kia Telluride for a year and put about 12,000 miles on it. It's had 3 recalls (side air bag wiring harness, rear speaker crash pad, instrument panel software) and the left rear passenger door could not be opened from inside the vehicle due to unconnected linkage inside the door (warranty repair). The dealer offered a free oil change to which I added a tire rotation which took 2 hours even with an appointment. The mechanic failed to tighten three lug nuts on my RR tire. I won't use the same dealer in the future, and I'll likely trade it in for a Honda Pilot. The Telluride's switchology is quirky (e.g. "automatic" climate control really doesn't adjust fan speed automatically). It should be noted that the Highlander and VW are only available with a 4 cylinder engine whereas the Kia and Honda still come with a 6 cyl standard engine. To get the equivalent power of a 6 cyl engine, Toyota and VW turbocharge their engines, which adds complexity and possibly worse reliability compared to Kia and Honda.
I agree with what you say and I'd add the Grand Highlander hybrid (not the MAX) should have been given more weight in this. If you consider the Grand Highlander's hybrid - which to me is what really sets it apart (Its the only hybrid available in this size vehicle) - the 4 cyl does not have a turbo and, though he mentioned it in passing in the video - the MPG is in the high 30's. Crazy. I'll take Toyota reliability in a tried-and true 4cyl hybrid any day over the others (Toyota has been doing the HiMH/4cyl hybrid for over 20 years now - its proven, reliable technology)
@@CH-mp8eu yes, but that hybrid battery needs to be replaced every 3-5 years at a cost of around $6500. You'll spend about $1000 more to replace the battery than you'll save on gas if you drive 15k miles and replace the battery at the 5 year mark.
@@ahill209 Source for the claim that Hybrid batteries will need to be replaced every 3-5 years. Is it from the Oil and Gas industry?? These batteries have a 100,000 mile warranty.
@ALMX5DP delivered yes, but they were still considered 2020 model year vehicles. I am glad you are enjoying yours. We have it's platform mate, the 2020 Hyundai Palisade, and it's also been flawless in over 70K miles.
Yes, if Kia actually honored their warranty commitments they would have a clear winner, unfortunately this is not frequently the case in my experience.
Hyundai too, wouldn’t cover my parents Sonata for warranty work, they said it’s out of warranty since they bought it in January. Except they didn’t buy the car till August, and even when they showed the service dept all the paperwork from buying it, service said their computers say something else. People keep smack talking Toyotas designs but you have to remember a key thing! Toyota focuses on QUALITY and LONGEVITY vs looks! I'd rather take a car that is going to last, vs one that looks good but dies (or gets stolen, cough KIA!) I just got my Grand and it's INCREDIBLE!!!
You want to drive ugly and low fot and finish Toyota for 4 years ? Or best fit luxurious KIA for 4 years ? Lease for 4 years and get another KIA. No brainer there.
Toyota is not high quality on the interior. Some of their mechanical parts are higher quality, but Toyota is starting to have problems since they are updating their powertrains for the first time in forever. That's Toyota's secret: keep the same shit forever and work out the kinks.
When it comes to value the Kia does Not score well here in Texas as they all have a minimum $5k mark up. Toyota and Honda in my city have a $1500 in silly add one that they require you to get. I was thinking of a fully loaded Kia Telluride at around $54k, but after mark up it is close to $60k. For that price I would rather buy the Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid Max platinum for about the same price with way more power. All I am saying is that all the reviewers say what a great deal you get with a Kia, but in real life you end up paying way more for it, so it is no longer such a great deal. With the mark ups, Kia is no longer a great value.
Funny. Here in California every car is marked up from Telluride to Toyota but Toyotas are marked up like crazy to the point where you might as well get a Lexus at that point.
@@Yourleftismyright88 wow, I guess every state is different. I lived in Miami before and it was full of Volkswagen while here in Texas is Toyota, Honda and pickup trucks. I am currently visiting Colorado and they seem to have tons of Subaru.
I'll happily take that smaller dashboard screen in the new Pilot, I don't want a bunch of multimedia distractions flashing at me as I drive my family around. And the Honda's V6 drivetrain is a winner for me. Powerful, smooth and durable.
What good is Kia's warranty if dealers find sleazy ways of denying warranty coverage?? Kia has the nicest interior, by far, of these 4, but dealing with shady Kia dealers is just not worth the hassle.
Good video but what trims did you compare (All top trims?)? I take issue with the screen size. The bigger screens are just more distraction. I get that bigger screens should give you bigger buttons and things like text size should be bigger but I think that these screens still end up taking too much driver attention away from the driving task. I"ll agree with the other folks about not including a ride and handling as well.
Sign up for Consumer Reports. They do reliability scores for every year and model. Kia is doing better than many Hondas and Toyotas nowadays. Some people are still think its 2010 or something.
Since when 9 inches is tiny? I actually don’t know why these enormous screens are necessary in these new vehicles. Like everyone wants theatre sized screens in the dashboards of their cars nowadays😂
This is one of those areas that reviewers seem kinda detached from the regular population. Is a big screen nice? Yeah, but it’s also at the bottom of my list regarding the features I actually care about in a family vehicle.
RUclips car reviewers are in love with the Korean cars. I drove them and wasn't impressed at all. On the other hand, RUclips mechanics all favor Honda and Toyota over the Korean cars.
@@CaliSteve169 I'm a mechanic and I think the Kia wins hands-down for the price. They were rated in the top ten across all major car brands for reliability this year, and the last 5 or so. Meanwhile Honda has steadily declined to below average, and has horrible features for the price. Toyota still is a reliability giant, but when most of your competitors are reliable you can't get away with price gouging to match the same options others have for a fraction of the cost. I pulled the numbers from JD power by the way, but in my experience in the last couple of years tacomas have become garbage vehicles, and Honda has been going down the drain. Kia used to be the bottom of the barrel but they've really turned it around the last 8 or so years.
@@CaliSteve169 Reviewers prefer Korean cars because they focus on the experience. Mechanics are focused on longevity, even at the cost of being boring, featureless, ugly, etc. Consumers are split. Some care about the experience, some care about bang for the buck, some care about longevity, some care about the badge. There is no right or wrong, it's just different strokes for different people. I could use your same logic and say the mechanics are paid off by the Japanese because they recommend soulless, outdated, ugly, barebone cars. The thing is, no one who is well off cares about their car lasting 20 years. Why do you think rich people drive the European cars even when they are the absolute worst in terms of reliability? I for one only drive my cars for an average of 3~5 years.
Pretty sad that you have a comparison video and you don't even compare how well the vehicles drive on the road. Yes, these vehicles aren't supposed to drive like a sports car, but there are significant differences between these 4 vehicles (I've test driven all of these recently) on how fun they are to drive as well as how safe they make you feel when driving more aggressive. This a poor job of a comparison for such a big company like Edmunds.
For me less tech means better car less things to break. I still don’t understand the need for all those features, when I drive all i need is music, nav, and change ac that’s it. Please stop putting tablets in carsi don’t need it
There's no need to talk about how they drive because they all drive great, which is necessary for the market these days. I see a lot of people mentioning CX90, and I love that suv. However, its space isn't enough compared to those 4. It's much more like a competitor to a regular Highlander.
Consumer Reports scores the Pilot having a lower reliability score than the Telluride, Highlander, CX-90, etc for 2024 models. Don't rely solely on past reputation.
I understand everyone has there favorite and these comparisons are not easy to do, however the Atlas is the one vehicle of the group that actually has functionality issues. It’s interface (lack of buttons) are actually impossible to operate in certain situations for functions that should have a dedicated button. The only issue I had was this whole comparison was how high of a score you gave the Atlas for its tech when I would gladly take the smaller screen in the Honda as opposed to Atlas with real issues
Have you actually ever extesnively tried VWs system or are you just complaining because you hear other people who also probably havent used it extensively complain? The hate is geniunely is so overblown for VWs system, it is perfectly fine, its not even remotely "impossible to operate", I have no idea where you got that from. The Pilot's small screen makes the touch points on it smaller and harder to correctly select things on the screen while driving than any of the other cars, thats just about as much as a "functionality issue" as the Atlas.
I think the majority of these style of reviews are for people who won't own a vehicle long enough to know/care about long term reliability. Kia/Hyundai are using dated engines and transmission while dazzling people with gadgets/tech. Honda seems to use a more focused approach to design. Less style, more substance.

I bought a new Kia in 2019 and have never taken it to the stealerships for the sole purpose of longevity. Everything that went into maintaining that car has been in my care with the exception of taking it to my reputable local shop to replace tires. Going on over 5 years and 85k miles and it has yet to give my family trouble. As long as people stay away from the dealers and keep up with PMCSing their cars in a timely manner, Kias are a very good choice, and I'll stick to that.
I'm a Toyota loyalist since the 90s but I'm buying my first Honda ever because the Pilot offers a V6 all motor which I'm more familiar and I believe the Trail edition will meet my family's need space-wise and can gets us to remote camping locations more reliably. It will be a good addtions to my 4x4 TRD Tacomas. 🙃 In addition, this video is definitely sponsored by Kia! 😉
I really want to see a wider test across the segment with the american brands included. Jeep GC, Ford Explorer and Chevy Traverse. I don’t see a lot of comparison tests with these vehicles included, should be interesting to see where each one excels and lacks
@@dhrudry1 I would disagree, its almost the opposite in sales trends, hence my curiosity. All three have the best sales in mid size SUV segment. Q3 2023 alone GC was almost double in sales compared to the best selling non american SUV, telluride (granted they most likely club the GC and GCL sales figures). Ford and Chevy too sell roughly 5-8k more units than Telluride.
no point including the currently available traverse as it's long in the tooth and about to get a major overhaul. the explorer is older as well, although I'm not sure if a refresh is coming or what it's sales numbers look like. GC-L is relatively new and could've been included on this list. The 4 vehicles on this comparison make sense, however, as they are all relatively new; GH is brand new, current gen Pilot is like a year old, Atlas just got a refresh within the past year and the Telluride refresh was a bit over a year ago I believe.
...but if you want one that will last a lifetime and give you the least worries, you go with Toyota or Honda. That's important for families that already have so much to worry about

I recently tested Mazda CX90 (inline 6) preferred +, Lexus tx350, Honda Pilot Touring , Kia Telluride S and Nissan Pathfinder. Best ride, comfort and space is Lexus TX350 but I did notice the engine struggling a bit when accelerating from low speed. Overall nice car. Nissan Pathfinder is wobbly and disconnected but easy to drive. The quality is not great as I notice carpet seams open under the 2nd row. Mazda CX90 does have great driving dynamics as people mention and generally a good place to be in. Its design is subjective, I like the rear view better than the front. The most surprising were Pilot and Telluride. I had mentally made my mind to buy the Honda but I was very disappointed with the ride; it was very jerky at low speeds and I didn’t like the brakes or the steering. Kia on the other hand was just easy to drive with good composure in city and highway. A good all round SUV.
Why having a 'small screen' such a big deal?? I mean you're not gonna watch a movie in the car, infact a bigger screen can be more of a distraction while driving than anything else.
It's a sign that Honda didn't design the vehicle well enough to keep up with the times. If even Toyota has a better infotainment, you know you're flirting with last place.
Daihatsu a Toyota company admitted they lied for 30 years about their car safety stats. Toyota recently is mass recalling cars cuz airbags wont deploy due to faulty sensor. There is your Toyota reliability. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Bruh, I already told you that air gas is only available for the 2019-2021 model, but for the 2023 model, the production is different. The Daihatsu case only occurred because it used a DNGA chassis instead of a TNGA and while the DNGA chassis was only sold in poor or developing countries, especially in Southeast Asia and was not sold to western countries such as Europe and America, it was given a TNGA chassis, for example the Yariss Cross for the market. Europe uses TNGA, but Southeast Asia (Daihatsu's market) uses DNGA. Toyota is indeed the umbrella company for Lexus, Hino Motor, Subaru and Daihatsu (including Mazda) but Daihatsu and Mazda have their own chassis, while Toyota (including Lexus) has its own different chassis, namely TNGA. So as long as it's not from a DNGA chassis then it's still safe, after all Americans and Europeans don't really like cars with a DNGA chassis, especially Americans who focus only on TNGA. So this is not a matter of engine reliability but a matter of safety features
The Kia is king of this segment. The upcominf chevy traverse looks nice but this generation of telluride with the v6 will be an overlanding machine ten years from now with their third owners because i feel like that v6 will last forever.
The way the V6 drives it feels as it is held back to either extend mpg or to extend the life of the engine. It seems Toyota has followed a similar approach with the mapping on older engines that are praised with long reliability. In contrast, the 2024 Atlas 2.0T feels lighter and more powerful, just wonder how much more maintenance it will require to keep up with longevity. In either case I feel the Telluride has plenty of power, you might just have to press a bit harder on the pedal, and if does end up extending the life it can indeed become an overlander in the future. You will have to consider making changes to the lower front, it does extend enough to where you will have to consider your approach angles more carefully. These questions can only be answered in the future, so I’ll se you back here in say 10 years :)
I do find it a little odd that the Toyota and Kia tie, yet the Toyota has multiple powertrains to choose from. I would think this is the tiebreaker putting them in the lead. That Hybrid Max has more power and better fuel economy than the Kia by a significant amount.
The extra cost for those options decreases its value propostion making it a wash. It would have to be a very niche buyer that would chose one over the other and pay more for a few extra mpg.
@@Petchyalater honestly, that’s debatable. Top trims for the Telluride are $53-54K, with the GH hitting just under $60k. So it’s not that much of a gap at $6-7K. Best fuel economy on the GH is from the Hybrid, and runs between $45-55K, right in line with the Telluride. With that, the GH has 37/36 MPG vs Telluride’s 20/26 (FWD) or 18/24 (AWD). That’s certainly not a wash. If you want power, the GH’s HybridMax has 362hp/400 ft/lb torque. Compare that to the Telluride’s 291hp/262 ft/lb torque. That’s a pretty significant difference. And just for comparison sake, the standard hybrid still puts out 245hp. And the HybridMax has an MPG of 27 combined. For the $6-7k difference, it’s definitely nothing to ignore. The options for Toyota give it a clear edge in my opinion. In addition, if you go off Edmunds points awarded in the video, the GH wins by 0.25 across the 4 categories - not the tie he claims in the end (rewatch the first scoring segment).
@@DrunkenSinner now it’s not really an even comparison if you’re choosing the middle trim GH. Then your missing features bring us back to not being a better value 🤷🏻♂️ now I have to chose features or mpg.
If you price out what you get in a comparable Kia optioned out to the Toyota - it's about the same price. Especially if you consider what you will *actually* pay for the vehicle, with Kia over-pricing the Telluride above the manufacture sticker. (read @johnl9337 comments below) @@Petchyalater

Pilot simply drives better than the rest minus hybrid max Toyota GH. It’s interior materials are actually better than the others overall despite having a more boring design. The car’s chassis in the way it rides just feels premium much more like an expensive luxury car. It feels super well put together and composed. I drove all of these cars and pilot just drives better over the rest and has a higher quality substantial feel. That’s more important to me over impressive looking screens the others have. The Korean cars just are cheap feeling to the touch in how they are put together. But they are all good cars in reality just gotta pick what you like best based on your priorities

I'm wondering if there could be some consideration of real life ownership in these reviews? With insurers fleeing from kia as fast as car thieves are fleeing to them, not to mention the reliability concerns, wondering how this continues to be one of the "best" 3 rows out there.
Insurance companies are clueless given it’s been KEY START Hyundai/kias that have had theft problems. The proximity key cars have nothing to do with the viral videos. We insured our 2024 Telluride in September with no issues. It is the best three row. Pilot is also great but needs more time to prove itself to have the true Honda goodness.
I appreciate videos about cars that most of us will actually own, thanks. However, I have to ask is there a Telluride kickback? The Hyundai Palisade is missing from this "comparison" and others like it or scored significantly below the Telluride, which makes no practical sense. The wife and I own both. We think they're fantastic, but didn't want two of either. As far as this video, it probably should have been nine categories splitting your four into eight and adding one for driving characteristics. Driven back to back there is a very distinct difference between driving an Atlas and driving a Grand Highlander. To each his own. To All those pushing back on the screens, my grandfather said the same thing about remote controls and the 1st huge 25 incher my dad bought. Hmm....
Honda Passport is a two row mid size almost identical to the Pilot, they shared the same engine and platform. The Passport is faster since it is lighter than the Pilot.
I note the very obvious omission of the CX-90 in this comparison/review. I had intended to buy the CX-90 based on the Mazda image and went to the dealership with preconceived belief that it would be the best of these choices. Instead, I found the ride annoyingly flinty even on good roads, and the 280 hp base engine woefully under powered for a fun to drive experience. I did not get to drive the PHEV nor the turbocharged versions, as they had not yet reached the dealerships. But the ride was so ....not to my taste... that I did not return to test drive them. But I did rent a CX-5 on a vacation and FOUND THE EXACT SAME RIDE. Must be part of the Mazda sporty drive set up. It's interesting that the true "Driver's" site, Savage Geese, lauded the Honda Pilot driving experience.
Very good, my friend 🎉, I enjoyed this smart presentation. I do have a 2022 telluride that I like. It is a pity KIA does not have knowledgeable mechanics who know how to fix the vehicle when taken in for routine maintenance. They cannot even fix the inoperable wiper fluid jets that stopped working at 11,000 miles.
No one in their right mind took this comparison test seriously. If you’re truly in the market for any of these vehicles, it’s best that you go out compare them yourself vs listening to someone who only cares about screen sizes.
Honda didn't do poorly, it's just not as spacious as the grand highlander and the smaller screen sticks out when every other competitor is at 12". The grand highlander is the best vehicle in this segment, and the Telluride offers the best value. it doesn't mean that the Pilot is a bad or mediocre vehicle.
There’s no question the Telluride is a great SUV. However, one can’t consider its value without taking into consideration the routine $5K+ that Kia dealerships add to its MSRP.
Even with a markup it’s still worth it. You can pay markups on a truly mediocre vehicle or pay markups on an excellent vehicle. Here even if you pay markups it doesn’t change the fact that the telluride is still top of the class
That ship has sailed. They are readily available on dealer lots. If the dealer you encounter is still above MSRP .. Go down the street to the next one. I shopped all over upstate NY for a specific color trim.. ended up in Northern PA. They wanted a slight markup because they knew I wanted the car. I said “it’s odd given your fantastic dealer rating you’d hit me with a markup given I’m coming across state lines to get the car from you. You can waive that or no deal..” They waived it. LOVE our Telluride.
@@naveenthemachine And what happens when you crash it? You’re under water. Insurance companies don’t care that it’s a great vehicle; they only care about its value.

Honda badge is not what it once was. CVT issues, oil mixture issues in the 1.5T, transmission issues in the 9-speed auto. Every brand has problems, Honda and Toyota (moreso)'s secret to the reliability is to make a design and keep using it forever, working out the kinks as you go. Honda Recalls: Brake and Rearview Camera Defects Honda recently issued recalls for various models due to brake and rearview camera defects. These recalls address potential safety hazards that can result in accidents and injuries. Unexpected Loss of Brake Function: Honda recalled over 124,000 Civic, Passport, and Pilot vehicles, including certain model year 2020-2021 Civic, 2020-2023 Ridgeline, 2021-2023 Passport, 2021-2022 Pilot, and 2020 Acura MDX vehicles. The recall was prompted by concerns that the vehicles could experience an unexpected loss of brake function, increasing the risk of a crash. Defective Brake Holds: Another recall impacted nearly 400 model year 2023 Civic, Accord, Acura RDX, and Acura Integra vehicles. These vehicles were manufactured with defective brake holds, leading to potential movement while the brake hold is activated. Honda plans to notify impacted vehicle owners by mail, starting from July 24. Rearview Camera Concerns: Honda recalled over 1.1 million Odyssey, Pilot, and Passport vehicles due to defective rearview cameras that may not display properly. This recall applies to model year 2018-2023 Honda Odyssey, 2019-2022 Honda Pilot, and 2019-2023 Honda Passport vehicles. A non-functional rearview camera can compromise the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of a crash or injury. Class Action Lawsuits against Honda In addition to the recalls, Honda is facing class action lawsuits that allege serious defects in its vehicles' components. Variable Timing Control Actuator Defect: A class action lawsuit filed against Honda claims that the automaker knowingly sold vehicles with defective variable timing control actuators. The alleged defect, affecting model year 2012-2014 CR-Vs, 2012 Accords, and 2012-2015 Crosstours, can lead to catastrophic engine failure and poses a safety hazard. Defective Electric Power Steering Systems: Two separate class action lawsuits were filed against Honda, asserting that model year 2022-2023 Honda Civic vehicles were manufactured with defective electric power steering systems. These systems may "stick," requiring an increase in steering effort, leading to overcorrections and potential collisions. Electric Braking System Sticking: Another class action lawsuit argues that Honda sold model year 2022-2023 Honda Civic vehicles with electric braking systems that can stick at highway speeds. when taking out the price, the grand highlander is objectively the best vehicle here. however, price needs to be a factor and that's where the kia catches up....
Each of these three-row SUVs brings something to the table, so what's the most important factor for you if you're shopping for a family vehicle? Let us know in the comments below!
Easy Edmund’s
The Kia is the best.
This summer I had the same dilemma. And in the end I finished with a minivan 😂.
probably a better choice. minivans are way more practical
Which minivan??

I actually traded in my odyssey for a pilot because of a lot of the places I go to require a higher ground clearance
The Sienna is amazing
How can a comparison of family haulers like these not have a word about ride quality? I know there's a comfort category in the comparison, but that was more about interior amenities/space than ride quality, as indicated in the video. That's a major omission imo.
This are not Maybach
Probably because it would have dropped the telluride down, and most of these channels love the telluride. I drive the new pilot, grand Highlander and telluride and I would say the pilot has the best driving dynamics and drivetrain refinement.

LOL kia hater. im not saying your wrong about the driving dynamics. But they have no reason to favor one car unless its better@@gabepena2689

The 2023 Pilot finally has hydraulic lifters. No more manual valve adjustment.

I could use your same logic and say the mechanics are paid off by the Japanese because they recommend soulless, outdated, ugly, barebone cars. The thing is, no one who is well off cares about their car lasting 20 years. Why do you think rich people drive the European cars even when they are the absolute worst in terms of reliability? yes, yes... Kia this Kia that, what about the Hyundai/Kia quality and customer service? I would love to see long term reviews and dealer experiences.
I think the majority of these style of reviews are for people who won't own a vehicle long enough to know/care about long term reliability. Kia/Hyundai are using dated engines and transmission while dazzling people with gadgets/tech. Honda seems to use a more focused approach to design. Less style, more substance.

Brake and Rearview Camera Defects
Honda recently issued recalls for various models due to brake and rearview camera defects.
Class Action Lawsuits against Honda
In addition to the recalls, Honda is facing class action lawsuits that allege serious defects in its vehicles' components.
This alleged defect can cause vehicle owners to overcorrect, increasing the risk of collisions.
THERE IS YOUR HONDA RELIABILITY. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
In addition, this video is definitely sponsored by Kia! 😉
Yep
The Pilot is by far the best choice here.
I really want to see a wider test across the segment with the american brands included. Jeep GC, Ford Explorer and Chevy Traverse. I don’t see a lot of comparison tests with these vehicles included, should be interesting to see where each one excels and lacks
I think they only did the top sellers in these three row suv. American cars do not come close to these juggernaut sale monsters.

Emissions and safety costs a lot and make your vehicle less reliable.
I agree on screen size, it’s really fine.
It sticks up higher than the others was what I didn't like
It's a sign that Honda didn't design the vehicle well enough to keep up with the times. If even Toyota has a better infotainment, you know you're flirting with last place.

Isn't Toyota's navigation system a pay use option??
I really like the VW, but them controls are a no go for sure. I don't want to be driving and trying to adjust temp with the screen
Correct it's a shame cuz last version (before the redesign) has a simple logical layout for the interior, and they killed it with the redesign.

Just get Palisade instead.
@@JakeDrives1 Well done, sir. It’s good to know. Thanks for sharing.
So, who is the winner ?
Honda Pilot.
What about the Cx-90 from Mazda?
Should add “resale value” as a category
There are so many 3 row SUVs. Would have liked to see Mazda CX-90
I have a 2022 GTI and have no issues using the capacitive touch buttons. I don’t know what the big deal is with all you car testers.
No one would ever buy a Kia over a Toyota… wait, unless you have low credit score Kia & Hyundai will finance anyone 😂😂
No one would ever buy an already ran Toyota over the futuristicly luxurious Kia. And Toyotas have high markups too. I’d rather pay markups on the kia than the Toyota because it doesn’t change the fact that Kia’s still superior to Toyota in every aspect now.
@@naveenthemachine all I know is the best car manufacturers year after year are:
Toyota, Lexus, Mazda, Acura & Honda & sometimes Subaru
KIA is far better valued suv. Who buys toyotas over KIA, no brainer.
@@joeschmomofo5020 that because you still living in the past, Kia forced Toyota to create the grand highlander, the telluride was beating the regular highlander
@@kromahj If you have a low credit score and are ok with low quality, these companies are for you… Kia, Hyundai, Spirit Airlines, Carnival Cruise Lines
This analysis is ridiculous. How can you honestly rate cars without judging how they ride? Numerous other car evaluators rate the Honda Pilot as the best handling car among these four choices.
Its an suv they all drive fine and fine is more than good enough for a family hauling 3 row suv. You not knowing that edmunds does full reviews on each vehicle is ridiculous.
These is not a comparison of Lambo vs Porsche these are people hauling grocery getting SUVs.
The pilot is the best in class small screen or not!🤣 Great video, hilarious. I think that you have to consider usable when coming to technology interface.
WTF on edit feeding the trols great vid fun to devil into all the finer details
Where is the ford explorer and Mazda cx90 and Chevrolet traverse and Hyundai Palisade and Nissan pathfinder and GMC Acadia and Subaru ascent and jeep grand Cherokee l and Hyundai Santa Fe and kia Sorento and if you are looking for something in Europe there is the Skoda kodiaq and seat tarraco and Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace and Peugeot 5008 and Renault Espace and if you’re in china there is the brilliance V7 and Changan cs95 and chery tiggo8 and dongfeng fengon ix7 and ford Equator and geely Haoyue and jac x8 and jetour X70 and roewe rx8 and Changan Oshan x7 and gac gs8
After watching multiple videos kia and Hyundai are the worst especially if you buy it as second owner because of mechanical issues in engine and gearbox
The pilots screen might be dinky but its user friendly and the Honda badge is something to take into consideration. Love the flexiability to remove the middle seat in the pilot. Nice video. Watch out for the highlander, they will nickel and dime you with subscriptions😔
After the major issues are worked out, then they are reliable.
@@Mercer1012nothing you just mentioned is relevant. It has the J35 and the 10SP
@@MeltingRubberZ28 It is relevant when you're talking about companies taken as a whole. Run along now, grown ups are talking.
@Mercer1012 oh you mean the CVT issues coupled with the 1.5T that's in my wife's car that she bought new in Jan 2017? The one that's had zero issues? Or the one that's in my MILs that's had....zero issues? Or how about my buddies wife's, that's had....zero issues? Quit reading fear mongering headlines and go chat with your grown ups tough guy
@@MeltingRubberZ28 Nice anecdotal evidence you have there, would be a shame if someone told you how anecdotal evidence doesn't apply. Our 1.5T also had no issues, but still had to be inspected by the dealer twice as part of the recall.
Like I said, run along now.
Honda Recalls: Brake and Rearview Camera Defects
Honda recently issued recalls for various models due to brake and rearview camera defects.
Class Action Lawsuits against Honda
In addition to the recalls, Honda is facing class action lawsuits that allege serious defects in its vehicles' components.
This alleged defect can cause vehicle owners to overcorrect, increasing the risk of collisions.
what about the Kia recalls and potential fire hazards and issues, too afraid to name them?
@grantssage8395 I don't care what brand of car you get, there's ALWAYS going to be problems and recalls. I'm not a brand snob, have had Fords, GMCs, Honda, etc. (never had Toyota, but my friends do and have had problems). My husband's 2001 GMC Yukon XL has over 170,000 miles on it, and has been an EXCELLENT vehicle, no problems (bought it used 21 yrs ago). I call it THE BEAST, lol
I'm still loving my 2021 Kia Telluride Sx Prestige after having it for 3 yrs and hopefully will not let me down. I think it depends on how you take care of your vehicle and sometimes luck of the draw...
Easy. Telluride palisade pilot cx90 are the best
The worst one is the grand highlander
Though they’re all largely good vehicles for their intended use.
@@ALMX5DP but the Kia is by far the best executed in interior space, materials fit finish technology features driving experience etc
@@naveenthemachine again, they’re all good choices and the differences between them are really minute and can be subjective depending on the customer or use.
Opinion with no back up. Gotta love these people
@@dhrudry1 yeah I usually put some weight into reviewers and journalists like Edmunds who puts the GH in third but the top 8 or so competitors are all very closely matched according to them (and likely others who review vehicles for a living).
Kia Telluride 💪
this entire video felt like a paid ad for a kia, when to most the basic answer is the grand highlander
why paid ad for kia? cuz is not kissing ugly honda and toyota arse?
when taking out the price, the grand highlander is objectively the best vehicle here. however, price needs to be a factor and that's where the kia catches up....
The Toyota finishes well ahead of the others when factoring in reliability and longevity. Go with the Toyota quality
