You forgot to mention that with the Black Label, you get their complimentary care service for 4 years. Basically, whereas every other car you have to bring the car into the dealership for service, Lincoln Black Label service will get staff to pick up your car from your home, and drop off a loaner car. They'll take your car to the dealer in for service and detail/car wash the vehicle before bringing it back in.
Idea: you should add another stat to the dougscore - dougs per dollar (overall dougscore divided by price). That would be a great metric for putting the cars in context. The Lincoln isn't going to get the same score as a Rolls, but probably beats it on a per dollar standpoint. It would be interesting to see what would be at the top and bottom of such a list.

You can not used the cooled and heated seats at the same time? Bummer. I presume you can not set it in drive and reverse at the same time either? That's the first thing I check before buying any car!
anytime I think Lincoln I think of an old Town Car a family friend had that would only go in reverse and they actually drove it to the dealership and traded it in in reverse. Perhaps he tried to put it in drive and reverse at the same time and failed lol
My Dad just bought an '18 Continental, Reserve trim with 2.7L V-6 AWD. Although factory rated at 335 HP, I think this engine is underated like so many Fords from the past. This is an excellent torquey engine that moves this 4500 LB sedan with ease. Build quality is exceptional, just a really nice car, and he got it for 16K less than MSRP. Really nice Ford Car!!
As someone who drove one of these every day for 8-12 hours (as opposed to out and back on the dealer's driveway...), here's an addendum to what Doug said. Under all the fancy stuff, it's a Ford Fusion. The good: The AWD system is excellent and with the standard tires the car is well planted in bad weather, and has a surprising amount of grip in the dry, too. The base V6 should be plenty for almost everyone, and the brakes are face-pulling strong. The button shifter looks cool, but more importantly, it's fast and easy to use, which is great for when you're a working driver. Everyone loves the comfort of the rear seats. The standard audio system sounds nice and Sync for the most part works flawlessly. The driver's seat is very comfortable. Doug mocks the drive select system, but it's actually nice, because you can set "D" to have eco throttle response and soft suspension for customer comfort, but sport (firmer) steering. The rear running light bar looks like absolute sex, the unlock/lock effect on the running lights is really slickly done, and I think in general it's easily the most attractive car Ford has made in close to four decades; it lacks the...awkwardness...that so many Ford cars have, and I think in 10 years this car will probably still look good, whereas most ten year old fords are extremely dated. The bad: the driver's area is...cramped, and I'm a pretty small person. The wood is overly glossy and the glossy clearcoat looks cheap as it wears a bit, and doug is right - they get really, really close to getting this all right, but the back panel controls in particular don't age well. The trunk isn't big; it's small compared to the 7-series, though not as small as the S90 (these are the three popular cars for fleet limos in our area.) The fancy door handles break in livery service, as does the trunk closing mechanism. Nobody knows how to get out of the cars (which is a plus in our circles, as it stops clients from opening their doors into traffic and such.) The base V6 drinks gas like crazy compared to much more fuel-efficient cars like the S90 (a car that makes the interior of the Continental look like a joke.) There are, however, two big flaws: one is professional driver safety. Any time the doors are unlocked, even if someone is inside, the door buttons light up red. If anyone wants to rob you - limo drivers often do have a fair bit of cash on them - they have a nice handy indicator as to whether they doors are unlocked or not. The second biggest flaw is that the transmission in this car is HORRID. Customers like a smooth ride, right? Well, many times you'll be crawling in traffic on the highway and the transmission slam-shifts from 1st to 2nd with a big, violent lurch. Every single car I drove in the fleet did it.
It’s a Fusion underneath it all? I thought the MKZ was the Fusion counterpart? I get that manufacturers have parts bins, I mean I have a Lexus LS (70+k car), and the rear vents are the exact same as a Corolla, but it’s still a Lexus. How much of this Lincoln is a fusion?
It’s my favorite feature I literally use it a dozen times a day. You can also press your code and the first two buttons to unlock everything/last two buttons to lock everything.
As a sound technician, I can see that that "demo" is actually a way for the system to recalibrate itself by "listening" to vibrations in the speakers, it recieves those different feed back vibrations that "bounce back"due to adjusted seats or different people in the car to know how to distribute sound, it'll move and adjust its frequencies and tones make the best quality music, that's actually an impressive feature to have.
Briand Gaudet not necessarily, my mastering engineer listens to trusted recordings to reset his ears to make sure the last job didn’t “change” his perception. This is very similar concept.
Temperature, over time the speakers harden, leather hardens, foam degrades etc. Funny as the demographic of Lincoln is old people who generally cannot hear these nuances anyway.
That's the least of it's problems. Unlike what everyone thinks, when people buy a 70k+ vehicle, they care about the fact that it's a fwd v6 enlarged fusion.
Sucks to work on your car without a dedicated cupholder in the engine bay. It's as simple as that. It's a telltale sign of true old school luxury, engineering prowess and attention to detail.
@@huzzzer6083Me either, sedans still have value in the world in my opinion. I think it’s just so much of this desire to be higher off the ground and in part stuff for families but I still would take a sedan any day.

Lincoln needs to make a rear drive v8 boxy towncar ala Rolls Royce. Who better than Lincoln? I still think the 80s and 90s towncars were iconic. Big, boxy and affordable.
As a 34 year old Millennial I'm supposed to like crossovers and SUV's. But I don't. When it comes to cars I was born in the wrong era. I love big American luxury sedans. The big Cadillacs and Lincolns of the 60's and 70's are my favorite cars. The Cadillac CT6 and Lincoln Continental are my current dream cars. And I just bought and currently drive a 2015 MKZ. The point of this post is that I hate it when car companies stereotype all car buyers as being obsessed with SUV's when we are not.
dmax5678 I am also a fan of old luxury cars. I always have been. At 16 I was buying Cadillacs and the like for drivers. Now that I am getting to that age, there are no luxury cars worth a crap to buy. I sat in this one and was disappointed with the cheap quality of the interior parts. There are no Cadillacs that can be considered a luxury car anymore, so what are we left with if we want a car that rides like an old Cadillac? There is nothing out there.

Top Line Usually when it’s bright outside you want the interior display/gauge lights at maximum brightness. It’s when it’s dark outside that you typically want to adjust the interior lighting to make it comfortable for your eyes in the dark.
Nah. Your phone brightness setting stays at your choice in dim environments. When you go outside, the brightness goes to max, so you can see it better, then back down once you go inside. What they should do is add an ambient light sensor ($2 electronic part, less in quantity) and do it automatically like phones do.

I have a newfound appreciation for Lincoln. They brought back the Continental, a car that had a long heritage with the company compared to Cadillac who ditched their heritage cars like the Fleetwood, Eldorado, or the Deville in favor of letter coded cars!! Am I the only one who thinks the CT6 should have been called the Deville or the Fleetwood?
Fun Lincoln fact! When you're talking about the gear lever, it should be noted that when the car is warmed up/has been driving for a bit, the gear selector will not shift through every option to get from park to drive or vice versa. I don't know if it's just a cosmetic thing or if the transmission needs to warm up, but it's something to know nonetheless.

They discontinued a lot of their vehicles because they’re planning on going electric. They just invested $11 billion into research for electric vehicles. Very smart I think! Electric is the future for sure
it drops an average amount... No car will drop 90% even decent mileage vehicles that have been involved in a minor wreck don't drop that much. cars that are anywhere near 90% are at least a decade old, have a shit ton of miles, salvaged title, or kept in extremely poor condition (ie:Broken)
I passed on a used one with 33 thousand miles on it, the dealership wanted 27k for it...not the black label but the base model. Its a nice car, but its just not worth the money.
The big downside of Lincoln is depreciation. I just saw a certified used 2018 Continental (lesser model than Black Label) with 27K miles on it for $31K. My mother had a 1995 Town Car that she bought certified used in 1997 for half the original sticker price. Were I to buy a Continental, I would go certified used. Big Lincoln sedans are great - like living rooms on wheels.
Better check how many European luxury cars loose their value as well. I am told that because European become money pits as they age, people are afraid to purchase one for fear of large repair bills due to the cost of replacement parts and hourly service fees.
If I had to guess: It is probably because OLD people usually buy luxury cars, and OLD people tend to KEEP their cars for 2+ decades, not sell them off in a few years, which means there's not much competition on the resale market?

Nobody knows how to get out of the cars (which is a plus in our circles, as it stops clients from opening their doors into traffic and such.) The base V6 drinks gas like crazy compared to much more fuel-efficient cars like the S90 (a car that makes the interior of the Continental look like a joke.)
There are, however, two big flaws: one is professional driver safety.

As a sound technician, I can see that that "demo" is actually a way for the system to recalibrate itself by "listening" to vibrations in the speakers, it recieves those different feed back vibrations that "bounce back"due to adjusted seats or different people in the car to know how to distribute sound, it'll move and adjust its frequencies and tones make the best quality music, that's actually an impressive feature to have.
Thanks for the info. It really is a great feature then.

Briand Gaudet not necessarily, my mastering engineer listens to trusted recordings to reset his ears to make sure the last job didn’t “change” his perception. This is very similar concept.

Display brightness might not have an effect unless the lights are on. That’d be my guess.
