You can save almost 7K by going with an Traverse LT, AWD, Midnight pkg, Advanced driver pkg, Panoramic pkg, Trailering pkg and EvoTech at 51+K. You get 20s in black, imitation leather (cloth for le$$), no ventilation or 2nd row heating. Nearly everything offered in the RS trim for under 52K if 58K is too expensive 😉.

Me and my bride just rented a GMC Acadia on a trip, was a 23 model. The new Acadia is such an upgrade. I liked the one we rented, had to get used to the drive mode buttons, used to shift lever.
On the model we had which was a 23 model. Gas peddle was so light, hard to keep a constant speed. Overall, had no complaints. Power was better than I expected at such elevations, 6000 ft plus.
If I had to get one, the Denali is the way to go. Subaru was a choice, to under powered.
After driving the Acadia on our trip. Beside the light gas peddle, this is an SUV I would not mind having. The new cab looks wonderful. Now at top of my list.
P.S. : I always buy our cars new, expect to keep them 20 years plus. My old truck was a 1999 f-150 with 325,000 miles on it. Took it to our tree farm to spend it's last days as a farm work truck. Still runs great though. Brides cars is a 2008 Toyota Avalon, 180,000 miles on it. Still a great running car, in great shape.
I bought a 23 Toyota Tundra 1794 to replace my old truck, got every option under the sun with it. Can not state enough how much I LOVE it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
As a last note. Since I keep my vehicles so long and buy them new. I buy them new because I KNOW how they are taken care of. Yes, might cost a bit more up front, but I dictate how the vehicle is taken care of. Change the oil and FILTER every 5 K miles. NEVER, NEVER let it run HOT !!!!!!!!!! Kiss of death for an engine.
That is how I justify buying NEW.
Took me 6 months of looking on line to find just the right Tundra I was looking with everything I was looking for. Color, 4X4, interior color, pano roof, list goes on and on. Found it 500 miles away from me in NC. Called them up, 1 hour later I had a deal. Drove up to NC from GA 2 days later and I had my truck. Do not settle, do your homework. Worth it to me.

So feature wise, you can’t get a heads up display LED fog lamps, or the best stereo in the traverse. The Denali clearly has a more premium interior as well. We just purchased the Acadia Denali without the super cruise and went with the standard 20” wheels. Personally we didn’t need these and with the tri frost option ($1,000) we came in less than $57k. I looked at the Traverse and the luxury and noise level (the Acadia has active noise cancelling too) was our deciding factor. Overall very satisfied and happy with our decision. We have some bugs in the infotainment screen but GMC said they’ll make right.
We put a Yukon side by side and besides the Yukon interior being slightly wider, the cargo area and legroom are close enough to consider the Yukon not worth an additional $30k.
Thanks guys for the review, hope these data points help!

I am a person who keeps my vehicles for quite a wile and I focus on keeping them in as much of new condition as I can, doing my own detailing work. They are using the top trim levels for this comparison, but the Traverse starts at $37k, and the Acadia at $42k. Realistically, most of these will be selling in the $40's - about on par for the segment. Also consider these are almost as big as the previous gen (2020) Yukons and Tahoes. Not even sure these should be called "midsize" SUVs anymore.
If you don't need 3 rows, the 2025 Equinox/Terrain duo are being redesigned with similar styling to these two. Those are gonna start in the high $20's/low $30's. I'd say those are more for the "average" American with 2.5 kids. 😄 (Actually, I think it's less now.)

GM really brought their game in terms of design of both of these. They no longer look like jellybellys and offed crisp, modern designs.
On the Chevy, the bold design does indeed standout in a sea of vanilla offerings for sure. My only wish is that the red interior accents were optional instead of mandatory, since they do seem to be a bit too liberally applied for my tastes. But I do appreciate the more streamlined screen orientation in the Chevy vs GMC.
On the GMC, what a massive quantum leap over the dullard that was previous model. With the style, presence, interior(especially), and tech are truly advanced. The only thing with the Acadia is I think its priced about $5K too expensive. There just doesn't seem to be $7500 worth of premium over the Chevy(no massaging seats, ventilated rear seats, rear seat infotainment, and both share Super Cruise).

@@hellkitty1014 My only question is *did you watch the review?* The GMC’s upgraded 16-speaker Bose performance audio system is worth $2,000 alone. The Acadia Denali has more expensive and luxurious materials throughout with real laser etched woods and authentic aluminum accents. The Chevy’s interior feels premium but it’s no where near the aesthetic of the Acadia Denali or Enclave.
The GMC also offers more technology like the large HUD and an upgraded adaptive suspension system is also included in this price difference. Certainly justifies a $5k-$6k price premium over the RS.

I kinda think the Acadia is the nicest inside. As for exterior the enclave looks great from the back. But the front end overhand is too big and the side looks awkward. Mostly because the third row windows are too small. Not sure why they want the make the car look smaller and sleeker. The traverse looks more brawny, muscular, and has more presence. Unfortunately its interior is the cheapest and doesn't offer a High Country with all the features/tech.

We are studying both Acadia and Traverse, as well as the Enclave, XT6, Highlander Hybrid & CX70. My wife will be the primary driver & I the payer. Too bad GM doesn't have a Hybrid, as the Toyota driver systems are too quirky. The Mazda drives the best but too pricey with styling that dated. So I'm leaning Traverse based on dash design. Edit: I forgot they put the stupid Tablet style infotainment in the Acadia. Chevy it is. Actually after seeing the maps on them, I'm thinking the vertical screen is more practical. Still would just prefer less screens in general.

Yes. A smaller but more practical screen is better than a large and useless screen.
Sure… it might say a 17 inch but if you take away climate, nav, and other information you are actually looking at a 15” screen. Toyotas 12.5” screen does not have the climate integrated in it so the 15.5” inch around a 12” screen after the nav is taken away.
A lot of new and fancy GM vehicles might have 30” screens but a lot of it is wasted space- headlight switches, blank area, etc.

Traverse. But with a light interior. I hate the tablet looking screen in the Acadia. I would like to see the comparison between the Z71 vs the AT4. Since the vehicles are identical size wise, it's hard to justify the higher price for the Denali.

I'm takng the Acadia... The verticle screen is better, the toggles are cool. The heads up is a winner, the fact that their are headlights and fog lights are always awesome... The only thing I'm not sure about is if I want the Denali or the AT4. Great job dudes. By the way, for comparison, how tall are each of you, trying to picture myself in those vehicles.

Traverse Top Trim RS comes with a Passenger Power Seating where Acadia gives in the Lowest Trim Elevation, that's a bummer but Traverse gets a 8 seater configuration and Acadia only comes in 7 Seater, rumor mill says 8 Seater is coming in Acadia as well may be for 2025 MY.

Traverse has dark interior extremely hot in summer. Denali has light color available and is more upscale and quiet.

How do engine noise during aggressive acceleration compare between the new L4 vs former V6 engines. I.e. which one is more civilized and quiet during acceleration and not just during riding nicely at 55mph?

I like the 2024 Chevrolet Traverse and 2024 GMC Acadia almost equally, but i prefer the Traverse exterior. When you also consider that the Traverse is $7,000 cheaper when fully loaded, the decision is easy to make. 2024 Traverse > 2024 Acadia.

After driving my Z71 for 7 weeks, I'm finding I'm not really a fan of that shark fin looking trim on the rear windows of the Traverse. The Acadia looks cleaner. Also, as I knew going in, Chevrolet uses a lot of plastic interior trim, which makes it feel cheap at times because it creaks and the piano black looks cheap. As we know, Chevrolet is GM'S entry level. As you move up, and pay more, you get a much more premium feel. There has to be a differentiation.
