I'm so thankful to have found your video. It's been a minute since have built my own computer, and relied on this heavily. I had bought a prebuilt and my i9 14900 was spiking to 100C and holding steady with even small \ old games. I decided to do this build because of you, with the 7000D! I even did the push\pull on top of the AIO adiator, so 15 fans total lol. However, I can't get my top lid on, and also, so many cables I'm having trouble shutting the back panel.... but oh well! I was so happy to see that when playing some of my fav games, nothing like VR or 4k, but just average games, my temps are staying controlled around 40 - 50C right now. What a huge difference. @@TheProvokedPrawn thats ok! I just probably needed some fan extension cables or something so I could relocate some things, it's all crammed in one area, and the 140mm fans on top are too tall to get the lid on, but i don't mind on that. better air flow! haha
I built my first proper computer this weekend, and my CPU cooler is not the same make or model as the one you show here, but it had the same method of installation. I just wanted to say, thank goodness you mention it being fiddly, because I thought I was just being stupid! It was probably the most challenging part of the build for me, and that was literally just hooking those key-shaped pieces of metal onto the plastic 'hooks' on the motherboard! Great video as always.
Thank you for the video! I think you're the only video that actually shows the 12 fan set up. Everyone else including Jay tend to do water aio only builds which is cool but I got the tempered glass for the light show! And yes, I literally bought 9 Corsair QL fans on purpose for the extra color because we all know RGB = more power lol
Glad I found this video, my mind was blown with the amount of cases that are out there. But after seeing this build this is the case that I shall be using in my AMD 7000 build.
My instructions for 7000x rgb version of this case also say to use cpu fan 1 lol. Logic tells me obviously you would think to use the "aio 1" header. But I'm assuming they must be the same thing
@@themooch5454 The difference I noticed when plugging into CPU_FAN is that I wasn't able to control pump speed. So instead I use the AIO_PUMP and control with corsair icue
Just to add. Had this case for ages and will never change it out. The GPU vertical mount can be moved back alot further, the case comes with a bracket that allows you to move the lower 6 /7 pci cover and put in the vertical one for the GPU. i had it in front like this setup and RX 580 was running between 70-90, moved it back and now it hits a max of 67 (Battle field 5 testing). Just for anyone wanting to look into it.
about to build my second PC with this case as im upgrading to a RX 7900 XTX and i needed the space, still a complete novice at building, but this video is so clear and straight to the point with no nonsense! so thank you, you have earnt a sub here!
What a finished and amazing show off! I have same as yours but I think I fucked up by error which I do not know build PC, from now on I will follow your setup (I already opened and installation in wrong way). No one explain to me with no subtitles due I m deaf. Again amazing job!
Can I just say a HUGE thank you for this video. I just happen to have bought the same case, cpu, cooler, and a 3090ti so when I found this video, it helped me immensely in the first time I've swapped my case and upgraded my cpu.
Watched the video start to finish, bought the case! It truly is a wonderful case to build in. I exchanged the Corsair fans for Lian Li Uni AL 120's (12 of em). And removed the inner back door as it is completely unnecessary. Thanks for your dedication and outstanding videos.
My 7000d arrives tomorrow. I watched your whole video to see about all your ideas. My 4090 probably won't be vertical. But I like your mix of black and white.
Wow thank you for this video. Not only was this very informative for the case but also a good video. You really helped me with that tip of mounting the hard drive cases vertically. I've been looking for a very good full tower with plenty of storage space.
Honestly a wonderful review of the case and showcase. I’ve never built a PC but I’ve been following PC builds since the middle of the GTX 10 series. Building my first PC with a 4090 this year and I’m gonna get this case. I have no experience hands on building but I’m pretty confident with my years of watching in general and this video specifically I can do it.
@@TheProvokedPrawn with this build, I know your intaking cold air from the front eight 120ml fans and exhausting from the top radiator, is the back fan intaking cold air as well or is it exhausting hot air like the top mounted radiator?
There ain’t no way I’m getting my fans set up properly the first time. Loved the in-depth video on this case and I will be referring to it as I build. Gosh I hope I can figure you these dang fans!
I plan on buying this case soon. Though I will be forced to purchase a "High-End PWM controller's" as many people have posted reviews claiming that they melt cables and can start a fire because the PWM controller's are of cheap manufacturing. So I am not taking any chances and I am buying a high quality one. Other than that I really love this case "so far".. 😋👍
I got 14x 140mm fans in my 7000D build. 10x 140mm case fans (with some modification to the mounting tray) and 4 CPU fans (dual socket). Such a good case!
Best video on this case anywhere!!! Also, love the professional without all the silliness like Linus TT. You handled the gear carefully and respectfully, like a real solid technician instead of many who just throw gear and parts around roughly.
Built something very similar. You can absolutely mix corsair fans on the commander core xt. I'm using 2 of them with the 3 140's included with the H170 and 9 SP120's. Works fine.
Quick question man, I’m building a very similar setup with 9 ML120’s and 3 ML140’s for the H170i. Would it be any easier to use 2 Commander Cores for all 12 fans? That way I can run power and rgb to all 12, completely eliminating the need for the build-in PWM controller? Or would you lose all PWM capability at that point. First build.
I know I’m very late to the video but I had a question. You mention that only 7 140mm can be added but I see space for 10 with three in the front, three on the side, three on top, and one on the back. Is there a space issue which prevents this? The build I’m planning will have a 420mm rad mounted to the side, three 140mm fans on the front along with three of the same on the top and one on the back. Would this be possible? Also I apologize if you answer this later in the video, I’m only a portion through.
Thank you for making this vid on this case, just picked one up a couple of days ago. Just finshed it turned out really nice, did not use all the fans you used but 3 140mm in the front and the corsair H150i lcd aio, plus one 140 mm in the back as exust. Great video and thanks again, really enjoy all your content.
I love this case! Just received mine and let me just say that this video helped me so much with the anxiety I get when starting a new build. I feel so confident going into now. Thankyou!
I picked up the 7000X, it was good to see a FULL video for this case so I know what I got myself in to. This video was long for a reason, you can watch the process and learn.
made it to the end :) just ordered this case to replace a 12 year old corsair case so i can fit 2 radiators. Really appreciated your insight so i could plan my build!
@@TheProvokedPrawn it has helped me plan my fan setup without a doubt, part way through i immediately realised I needed another pwm hub as I push/pull with my current 360 radiator and I want to keep that along side adding a new 420 to the front. Being able to see that the drive bay can still squeeze infront of the psu allowing for the optional bit of trim to be swapped in was great, mostly as I think I'll need that cut out for the radiator to drop down into. Im curious, did you test the case without the fans drawing in from the motherboard panel? In my mind, those fans plus front intakes is going to make for some very messy airflow coming in and id love to see some figures from both setups. RAM temps, chipset temps etc to see if there is any difference
monster of a case i couldnt of figured out the whole method wiring the fans etc if it was not for this video thank you for the long informative guide / video!
@@TheProvokedPrawn yeah i just subbed now worth it. pcs are simple enough but its always the fans that get or used too on older builds .... lol. when they wouldnt power up in the case this new controller makes it way simpler than the 4 pin male too female etc
@@TheProvokedPrawn it's been the best case I've owned, I had a coolmaster mb520 before it was okay but didn't have the best build quality I'm glad I got the 5000D :D
Just picked up the 7000X for the coming 12900k Alder Lake build. My current Intel rig is in the O11D XL, which I absolutely love, and will still continue to be used. Looking forward to building in a proper full tower case again.
I hope Corsair starts making the H170i Elite Capellix in white to match with this case color. Right now if you order the 7000X and the H170i (black) together on Corsair's site, they give a $23 discount. But the 7000X case alone is $330 MSRP. The AIO alone is $230 MSRP. (The 7000D Airflow is $260.)
I know this is a 1yo vid, but I present but I presently have the 4000D and was pokin' avout w a larger case. The 7000D being an obvious option and this vid was at the top of the list when searching for this topic. I did in fact watch till the end as I am still learning (...54 yo and just getting started ...ok ok, stop laughing) But, my room mate helped w the boar's share of the work in my 4000D as I had NO idea wtf I was doing. A lot of that having been done I feel (slightly) more confident to try doing a swap to a 7000D case, and yes your vid here helped w that tremendously. Cheers!
First time watching your channel. Have to say I enjoyed the video an found it quite hilarious at the end that you were in a costume. Either way got this case (black version) on order and I'm super stoked!

@chrisr7597 The 12VHPWR cable that came with the RM1200x. No Issues so far in over 16 months. Just make sure that you connect securely that cable at both ends. I've pushed my 4090 at 600 watts without any prpblem.
@@jacquestrepanier9203, I really appreciate your response. Yes, I have the same PSU as you, but I will be attempting to install an Asus TUF 4070 TI Super instead. That said, my wattage should be much less than that of the top-tier models, like your GPU. You've set my mind at ease as I've been researching/ have questions answered regarding this process. Many thanks, friend!
Working on an alder lake system, I drilled holes on the side so I could go with all 140mm fans, so 13x 140mm fans in total 3 front 3 side 6 on radiator push pull and one in the back. ML 140 in push pull the rest are going to be 140mmQL
Hi! Do these 4 side fans disturb the Airflow in the case? I wonder whether to add them and whether they have an impact on lowering the temperature of the components.
looks le this is gonna be my case, i got one of the smaller corsair cases and thought it be ok until i upgraded to a 4070 and now have to sacrifice my mid front fan in order to fit it
thanks much. i have this case putting a 7800x3d in it as we speak. definitely the easiest case ive ever worked with tbh, and ive built a lot of pcs. IT WORKS GREAT with the new RM Shift PSUs btw. Hard to find a case that does as well as this (main reason i bought it)
@@TheProvokedPrawn Thanks for that. Great vid! I will be watching it while I do my install in this case :D I see that you have written the specs down but I cant see what cable extensions you have used. I take it they are decent and you haven't had any problems with them?
Your voice makes the case more desirable than it is. It is hypnotizing. :) Thanks for this great guide. I am planning to buy it for air cooling. (I may try water cooling in future, that's why I wanna have a bigger case than usual, I want to work freely inside) My question is, whether this would be a good solution for air cooling. I am not overclocking.
Little note: you cannot do push pull on a top radiator config because the case misses the opening on top of the case for the top fans to go into it, unlike the 5000d. I was so disappointed when i got the case thinking of doing a 420mm push pull and try extreme overclocking.
@@itsyoboig3325 When you have the fans on both sides of the radiator. Pushing air through it and pulling air out of it. Hence why push pull configuration.
@@itsyoboig3325 If i have the space yes. More air means more cooling and generally less noise even if you have 2/3 more fans, since you're pushing/pulling that much more air. But if you don't have the space the "common" config is totally ok.
@@davidepannone6021 I have a 240mm radiator so should I do a push pull on the top ? Like could I add 2 extra fans on top of it or does it have to be a 360mm radiator and 3fans on top of that for a push and pull
@@TheProvokedPrawn well I have the same case but i have an AIO on the CPU and therefore can only place 4 in the front which are 120mm noctua, with the AIO grill and fans at the top I doubt there is a way for me to add more fans at the top cause of the AIO, would u suggest maybe using the side panel which hides the cables cause mine are a bit of a mess :|

Huge case, but i think people should just start getting Lian Li's daisychain fans for these considering the mess of fan cables you get otherwise. Really wish other OEMs would start making those daisychaining fans as well.
@@TheProvokedPrawn I especially like the fact that Lian Li gives you RGB but also good performance. 120mm version of that daisychain fan has up to 58 cfm airflow and 2.4 something static pressure. Corsair's fans are all like 43 cfm or something I think, the Corsair ones with great airflow have no RGB.

Glad I could help!
Glad I found this video, my mind was blown with the amount of cases that are out there. But after seeing this build this is the case that I shall be using in my AMD 7000 build.
Side Note: The AIO Pump should be plugged into a Pump Header instead of a CPU Fan Header if your motherboard has one for max pump speed.
The best walkthrough of the 7000D case. It was extremely useful for setting this up as Corsair doesn’t have anything like this. Thank you.

I don't know if other cases have it but i love that corsair cases come with box full of screws and necessities for proper PC build.
about to build my second PC with this case as im upgrading to a RX 7900 XTX and i needed the space, still a complete novice at building, but this video is so clear and straight to the point with no nonsense! so thank you, you have earnt a sub here!

Just watched all 57 minutes. My 7000D Airflow is currently being shipped. I can't wait!
Hope it was useful!

Good choice. Lian Li fans are superb. Hope you enjoyed enough to subscribe 🦐
Thanks Rodolfo. I'm glad to hear I helped. Hope you enjoyed enough to subscribe 🦐
Glad to help. Good luck. 👍
@@TheProvokedPrawn a 4090 should fit in this case right ?
@@cspreach1963 pretty sure it would yeah.
@@TheProvokedPrawn with this build, I know your intaking cold air from the front eight 120ml fans and exhausting from the top radiator, is the back fan intaking cold air as well or is it exhausting hot air like the top mounted radiator?
For the front USB panel, one could always purchase a PCIE USB 3.1 Card for the extra cable. Just a thought!
I’ve noticed how much effort you put into these videos well done!
Thank you! They are mega effort :) Have you seen my behind the scenes videos?

Man seeing all the cables for those fans are making me glad i went with lian li fans for my first build lol
There ain’t no way I’m getting my fans set up properly the first time. Loved the in-depth video on this case and I will be referring to it as I build. Gosh I hope I can figure you these dang fans!
If you get the order wrong you can adjust it in iCue as people have pointed out.
@@TheProvokedPrawn That will make it a lot easier. Let’s hope I can get power to everything without a commander pro!
I plan on buying this case soon. Though I will be forced to purchase a "High-End PWM controller's" as many people have posted reviews claiming that they
melt cables and can start a fire because the PWM controller's are of cheap manufacturing.

Nice! I have 4 140mms (front, back exhaust) and 7 120s (420mm Rad on top +3 on the side fan mount)

This is the worlds best PC case.
Beautiful video my man. Wonderful case.
Thank you kindly
Building a 4090 13900k build rn and I love this setup and I’m prob going to steal this layout thank u
Thanks. Glad it was useful.

Thanks Chris. That's the idea. Hope it helped.
made it to the end :)
just ordered this case to replace a 12 year old corsair case so i can fit 2 radiators. Really appreciated your insight so i could plan my build!
Thanks for watching. I realise it was very long but hopefully as useful as it was long.

I hope Corsair starts making the H170i Elite Capellix in white to match with this case color. Right now if you order the 7000X and the H170i (black) together on Corsair's site, they give a $23 discount. But the 7000X case alone is $330 MSRP. The AIO alone is $230 MSRP. (The 7000D Airflow is $260.)

Good job with the video. Nice work!
Little note: you cannot do push pull on a top radiator config because the case misses the opening on top of the case for the top fans to go into it, unlike the 5000d. I was so disappointed when i got the case thinking of doing a 420mm push pull and try extreme overclocking.
Whats a push pull ?
@@itsyoboig3325 When you have the fans on both sides of the radiator. Pushing air through it and pulling air out of it. Hence why push pull configuration.
@@davidepannone6021 u do It ?
@@itsyoboig3325 If i have the space yes. More air means more cooling and generally less noise even if you have 2/3 more fans, since you're pushing/pulling that much more air. But if you don't have the space the "common" config is totally ok.
@@davidepannone6021 I have a 240mm radiator so should I do a push pull on the top ? Like could I add 2 extra fans on top of it or does it have to be a 360mm radiator and 3fans on top of that for a push and pull

Yes, that would be a good choice tbh.
@@TheProvokedPrawn I especially like the fact that Lian Li gives you RGB but also good performance. 120mm version of that daisychain fan has up to 58 cfm airflow and 2.4 something static pressure.
