@@TheProvokedPrawn I'm embarking on a new build and trying to decide what case/cooler to use. This, along with the 4000D (and next I'm watching the 7000D video to see if there's anything more to glean) video has been super-useful in helping make the decision.
One question though: in the online sellers descriptions of the Corsair Elite H150i Capellix that I see, they all mention that while it's compatible with the LGA-1700 that the Alder Lake processors use, you have to ask Corsair, I guess, to give you an LGA-1700 attachment kit, with proof you actually purchased a LGA-1700 processor or motherboard. I don't know what to think about that - it's a bit shocking that 5 months after the introduction of Alder Lake it seems that Corsair AIOs still aren't arriving with LGA-1700 support. That's an added hassle, and obviously lengthens the build time - depending on responsiveness it could go over the 30 days RMA period in case something goes wrong.
Do you have any information on whether what I described is correct? Thanks.

I recently bought this case and doing a full corsair build as well with RGB. I'm only using 7 fans compared to your 12 and I'm already feeling overwhelmed with the amount of wires popping out everywhere. I love the cable management on this case and after fiddling with it for a few hours I managed to get most of it packed away nice and neat.

I also bought the Corsair RGB triangle lights too. I used the lighting pro that came with it to connect the two I bought. But last time I hear that how it would work if you would like to use more than 6 fans. In the future that’s probably what I’ll do. Had to use a splitter too as well. Aio used to much power and had to used its own usb. The commander and light pro had to be split and share the other usb

  • @matth7621
    @matth7621 Год назад

I was doing the same thing as you. Transferring from a Meshify C to this 5000D.
I didn't bother removing either fan tray. I've removed the velcro straps from other cases and they were a pita to get back in. Installing the fans without removing the fan tray was super easy. The main problem I had with this case (and I feel like you gave me a solution for) is that my cpu power cables are pressed so tight against my 360 AIO that the rear fan can't even spin. Also, my AIO tubes were pushed up against the rear fan preventing it from spinning, but I just slid the AIO forward and that fixed that issue.
But you gave me the idea of top mounting my AIO fans and just run a pull config. I should have known to do that anyway. I watched a video from Jayz2cents a long time ago that shows push or pull doesn't matter, you're still moving the same amount of air through the rad. Also, I have the same issue you do where the "shame" door won't close all the way. I thought the small hole above the finger hole was so you could put a screw into the magnet and hold it closed, but I couldn't find one that worked.
Also, I was looking to see how you dealt with the front fan cables. Early on, you ran into the same issue as me where you were thinking your only option was to run them through the slots for the rear door and potentially cut them with the door. This is how I currently have mine, but it also made it to where I had to run the power cords across the side fan mount to get to the fan controller. Yours is more clean, but I didn't see how you ran them. All in all, I really like the case and I appreciate this full length build!

      This has been debunked.
"Just as a reference, the idea of using that plate to direct air under the mobo has been throw around, and it's not a good one. There is almost no clearance between fan and bracket, even if you can get them in there together (which was not intended by corsair, bracket is just for cable hiding/blocking that side if you didn't use those fan slots). Having the plate in front of the fans simply makes the airflow inefficient and basically makes those fans useless. All the mobo heatsinks are on top of the mobo, so you want maximum airflow into the case, and over your gpu/mobo which means unobstructed. So basically for airflow and fitment reasons it is better to not mount the bracket. And with 10 fans, 6 front intake and 3 top/1 rear exhaust. Incase you were undecided."

Good video ! Guess what, had exactly the same issue with power cords to CPU. My plan was to have fans for the cooler installed underneath, pushing the air up. It would have meant ~ 90° bend, not comfortable doing that. So latest plan is install fans on top of the case, sucking hot air instead of pushing from underneath.

Hey, you overlooked something. The "Cable hide Panel" can be used to cool down your Motherboard VRM and M2 SSD's mounted on the Motherboard! The Side Fans suck Cold Air in and the Panel directs it over the Mainboard Compoents.
I've you use 1 or 2 All in one Radiators (one from CPU in the Top and one from GPU in the Front) or a Custom Water Cooling where the Water Tank is blocking the Front Fans too from the Radiator. U need to geht a cool breeze from somewhere else to cool down your Motherboard und his Components. This is the Way to do it.

When parts become available in a year or two im gonna get this case and do as you said with the panel directing air from the side over the motherboard/RAM/M2's etc as well as three fans at the front sucking air in, an AIO with fans pushing the air through the rad out the top and one final fan sucking air out the back. Hopefully the airflow isn't interupted in any way with this setup.

You can actually fill 13 120mm fans in the Corsair 5000 Series Cases, but that would result in a little bit of negative pressure since there would be 7 exhaust fans (1 in the back, 6 on top with the push and pull config) and 6 intake fans (3 up front, 3 on the side). It's always better to have neutral pressure over positive or negative pressure (neutral means same amount of intake as exhaust fans, positive means more intake fans than exhaust fans, negative means more exhaust fans). I finally saw why this man chose 12 not 13 fans. Good job, mate :)

I built mine a couple days ago and also encountered some problems, like space for my HDDs and PSU of 1000w. Also the power cable for CPU was a hassle since it has no space at the top with the Elite Capellix XT. One thing is for sure, temps changed for me. My Ryzen 9 5950x went from 46 idle to 37. From 65 c to 57 c on workload! Absolute cold! Also worth noting! You should connect the fans on the radiatior to the CPU Fan slot and the AIO Pump to its correct slot. Connecting the Elite Capellix pump cable to the Cpu Fan pin gave me Cpu Error at launch, solved it by connecting the 3 radiator fans to the Cpu fan and the radiator pump to the aio pump. I'm looking at changing my PC and the Corsair 5000D Airflow came up as an option (along with the H150i funnily enough) so it meant having a look at reviews and feedback. I'm coming from an Antec P120 crystal, which has less airflow option, but I was spoilt by the side (or is it front?) glass door being on hinges.. my older cases have all had the usual 'pop a couple of screws and take it off'. It's a pity the hinge door isn't a standard now, although I see the back side (rear) door is hinged, so a little progress :) Dust filters are great and the shrouding is a fantastic additional/option.

    Hey man!
I kept seeing your videos over the past year or two whilst researching products until I finally realised 'Huh, I recognise that voice' one time, and becoming familiar with your channel.
I'm planning on transforming my black build to a white one (I currently have a Corsair 220T RGB Airflow and I'm worried it will struggle to fit some bigger components) and I was looking at the 5000D Airflow, H150i Elite Capellix, etc.
As I'm quite the novice, this video will help me. Thanks!

I have the exact same case but for some reason I don't have enough room to mount the radiator perfectly in the middle on top so I slightly moved it to the left and screw it in only on the left side side of the radiator. I couldn't screw the right side of the radiator because there are no holes there in the case. I had to use wires to tie the right side in place. The reason was the power cables (2x) on the top was blocking the path where the radiator would be. I tried everything to push the cables back as far as I could but it's still too thick.
They either need to push the motherboard back a little or increase the height of the case another inch or two so the power cables doesn't block/obstruct the radiator. The motherboard I'm using is the ASUS ROG Strix X670E-A ATX. I've seen other build videos of the same case but they always seem to have plenty of room.
I also had to remove the cable bar otherwise I wouldn't have been able to squeeze the ATX power cable through on the side. The PSU I'm using is the Corsair HX 1200 and all their cables are thick and hard to maneuver in the case. I'm using the RTX 4090 and it's a huge card. The power cable for that barely gave me enough room to close the side glass panel. Most likely my next PC build 10 years from now will be a full tower.

Leave the wire shield plate in if you are going to use those side mount fans, as it is now you are creating a vortex at the front where the flows meet and results in chaotic air flow, may still work but won't be near as good or consistent. Putting the wire shiled back will direct air directly over the Motherboard although a bit restricted it will help keep the Mosfets and VRM's cool especially if you are not using a downfire CPU cooler. Right now it looks great but you air flow pattern is a bit gimped by the 2 conflicting intakes. Great build regardless and Corsair usually puts out a good case. I recently switched over to the Lian Li Lancool 2 mesh and never looked back ;)
Go with the newer Lian Li SL Infinity fans or even their original AL140 or SL120's, loads less cables and nonsense like Corsairs and look way better especially the Infinity ones. I had the LL120's when they were a thing and lasted about 4 months before the flickering of Death issue that Corsair never bothered to fix.

@@rodolfotsang4327 yeah the 4000x is essentially the 4000D, but with a number of upgrades. It also has glass panels on the front and top. Honestly it is a very nice looking case. In fact, on my 5000D, I went and bought the 5000x glass panels to upgrade mine.

Thanks for the video. I have this same case in black using only 7 fans (3 in front, 3 on top, 1 in rear) and running stock an Intel 12900K, RTX 3090, & 5200 64 GB DD5. With CPU-Z in stress mode: degrees = MB 34, CPU 64, CPU PKG 75, GPU 42, GPU Mem 50, Dram 40. When running the Heaven software maxed out: degrees = GPU 67 and GPU Mem 80. I'm not sure if the 6 extra fans are worth it since the upper top fans could be impeding air flow, since both upper and lower radiator fans are spinning at the same RPM. Also, 6 more fans make 3 times the noise because all of the 6 extra fans are on the outside of the case, compared to having only the 3 front fans located on the outside. The 3 side fans also will not allow access to the 3.5" drive bay without taking the fan case and/or power supply apart again :( But don't get me wrong, I love my case and it is very quiet!

Such a cool case. Would consider it for something crazy, like an all-out build with a 13900kf + 360 AiO, a watercooled 4090 for gaming + my old GPU for rendering on the side in the same case. Then I'd might actually need the space as well as the thirteen 120mm fans in total for cooling 🤣 I almost wish I had that use case and that money... 🙃 But my 4000d airflow is more than good enough to fit and cool what I will ever need along the lines of something like a 13600k, 280mm rad and an air-cooled 4080 or lower.
