Bought this case after seeing this review (and others) and I have to say it's easily the best case I've ever had for a custom-built PC in all my 20+ years of PC building!
It's so easy to do a nice clean build with this, and without much effort either. Now running an i7 build with ten Corsair LL120 fans and an NZXT Z73 360mm AIO and am very happy!

My 5000D Airflow arrived yesterday and the build went fine.
It was a little fiddly removing the cable shroud but all went well in the end.
Using 140mm fans for the front and the top I felt that they should have extended the slots for the fitting of the larger fan on the front of the case. IIRC the 4000D seems better in that way.
Agree with the actual usefulness with the HDD cage, for the 3.5" drives. It has to come out and in my opinion can't really be used effectively due to needing that space, at least I do, for the cable management of the PSU.
After fitting the 140mm fans to the top I also had issues with the two 8 pin plugs for the motherboard, out a fan came...!
If you do mount fans on the side, no dust removable dust filter is there - unlike the front and top.
The inner rear door does indeed come off easily, I wish that it had a better latch, not really important, but when you have bunged all your cables in for your build it doesn't close shut as easy.
I wish that they had made it possible to remove the bottom dust filter for the P~SU intake from the front, like on my previous Fractal R5 case, rather than the rear.
    Overall a good case.

For the front intake fans, i just unscrewed the side intake fans for a little gap and ran the front intake fan cables through each side intake fan. Looks really good and the side door closes with no issues

Not a 'fan' of the cable tidy plate when using a standard 24 pin power cable due to how bulky it is so had to loosen the plate a little even when using a cable mod. One thing worth mentioning about the 5000D platform is that whether you have the 5000D, the airflow, or the 5000X variant, they all share essentially the same platform, and so you can mix & match various panel types.
For instance, I bought the vanilla 5000D (since that is what was on sale), but I wanted more airflow through the front. So, I purchased the airflow panel.
For the top, I didn't need as much airflow, so I purchased the glass top that comes with the 5000X.
Each panel was only $15 - Corsair's pricing on their replacement parts is exceptionally reasonable, and is one of many reasons I'm happy to give Corsair my money.
    Great review, as always

How efficient would a top mounted fan pull setup be, with the radiator below? Rather than a push setup with the fans below the radiator?
I was pondering the idea of installing a H150i but using the 3 RGB fans it comes with in the front of the case and using the 2 non-RGB fans that come with the 5000D in the top recess pulling air through the radiator. I would obviously need to add a third non-RGB fan in the top recess.

You say you cant have a front & side mounted radiator together but would there be enough room to mount a front 360 & a top 360 and then put an EKWB QUantum FLT 360 Reservoir/pump unit in the side position(without the fans there) ?

    • @jeremywilcox800
      @jeremywilcox800 Год назад

i run 3 360 radiators on this case. One front, one side, and one top with the Corsair reservoir mounted in the space behind the front fans. They all pull air out from the case. One fan on the rear pushing fresh air in. Negative air flow which is the preferred design according to corsair. i9 13900k and a 3080ti, they generate some heat, I can use the PC as a space heater but it doesn't have a problem keeping the temps normal. The only downside I've seen is a 360 doesn't fill the entire mounting area and leaves some air gaps but you dont notice it once its installed and the extra gaps might even be good for me since its neg air flow.

In the front of the PC case can you fit two 140mm Noctua fans and one 120mm Noctua max fan in between the two 140mm Noctua fans thanks in advance? Plan on putting 3 Noctua max 120mm fans as exhaust on top and 1 Noctua max 120mm fan in the rear as exhaust as well do you think it will work? Thanks again.

Please tell me or anyone who has tried this with this case, can you put a 360mm RAD with fans on the side intake and still have 3 fans on the front as an intake. I truly feel this would be the absolute best air flow possible. I saw an air flow test with smoke and these are the best findings. 360mm rad with 3 fans on the side pulling in air, 3 fans on the front pushing that slightly warmed air mixed with the new cool air toward the board, then 2 120mm top fans with one rear 120mm exhaust fan. They found 3 120mm tops fans actually sucks out a lot of the cold air before it reaches over the CPU area and they found cooler temps with only two top exhaust fans. So, will this allow a side mounted 360mm red with 3 fans and then adding 3 front 120mm fans without hitting each other?

I had the issue with the 8 pin CPU power connectors too, running up the back with a 360mm AIO and an intel build would not work, and I didn't like the stress I was putting on the cables or connectors to try to force it with it hidden in the back. I spent an hour or 3 trying to figure out how to do it. At one point I went from the bottom of the motherboard straight up and then my 4080 GPU wouldn't install. Ugh. So, my solution for now was I ran them along the top right grommet rubber holes from the back and to the 8pin CPU headers. It wasn't worth damaging the motherboard for a cosmetic issue. For reference I had the 1k corsair shift default power cables. Maybe I'll get something off cable mod someday. I find it acceptable as is. Just make sure if you do this that the cable doesn't hit the fan blades of the AIO.

There is loads of space on the plate behind the motherboard that you could stick another two 2.5" SSD's with double-sided tape if you were really committed!
