Been looking at these cases, weird that this video just came out.. from what I've found it seems 4000d is sufficient and good for the price, the 5000d is essentially the same except is more configurable and would suit a build that needs lots of cooling.
5000D is bigger (can fit 3 fans in the top, and a 360 rad mounted lines down in the front), and has one more USB-A input on the top. 4000D is fairly limited on what rads will fit on the top and still clear ram in AMD systems (not sure on intel) I've got a 4000D, but might have been swayed to a 5000D if it had existed when I built mine 👍
@@cloudyview Main difference for me is the extra USB on the front panel ... I need that for a Warthog HOTAS... now, if only AMD would fix USB on X570 with PCIe 4 ... @JayzTwo2cents - how about a video on that?
Like 4 main differences if you are fairly new to all this 1: cable management. The 4000D doesn't have brackets for your cables 2: side air ventilation. The 4000D didn't have that 3: extra USB port by the power button. The 4000D only has 2 USB ports, but 1 of them is C-Type and the other is USB-A. The 5000D has 1 USB-C AND 2 USB-A 4: the size. 5000D is slightly bigger meaning it can hold more components or rather bigger components.
@@EduardoMora69 point 1 you made is incorrect i believe. I have the 4000X (which as far as I know is the same as 4000D with glass front panel) and it has cable management brackets. Albeit less than the 5000D but its smaller and still has them

Jay, you are the first person to confirm what I just was told by Corsair - the side cover is meant to have fans behind it to supply airflow to the motherboard. Now if I can get someone to try to install (3) 140mm fans in front to see what it looks like. If possible. Per Corsair's response to me you can. Keep up the great videos.
I have this case, it is very easy to build in (my first build), upgrading is open and free and it is very quiet. The only problem is that the fans that come with it are a bit noisy but otherwise very chill
@@mannyfresh7065 i did not. 2 140mm fans and one of the 120mm included. the top is not flimsy at all. the front intake is kinda but im sure it would hold the weight of a aio no problem.

i just built in this case and its pretty cool but i didn't like that i had to move the hard drive sleds to fit the psu in the case. Also yes the shroud got in the way of the cables which i was disappointed it made the cable management a bit wonky.

Wow, this is a really well done case, I'm impressed. I was looking at a more open airflow case with a cool design, like the V8 one you showed, but honestly, this might be better, especially depending on what the pricing of other stuff ends up at.
Got this case. Literally my only complaint is I wish they added just an extra half inch or so to that back door they had there. I just barely managed to cram all of my cables in the back there but damn this case is otherwise beautiful. 9.9/10 imo.
I want to see more cases with the ports control panel on the front bottom ish area or left side front/bottom portion area. I’m tired I oddly bent and hanging cables.
Jayz, great video! I just purchased a new ABS ALI631system with the Corsair 5000X ICUE RGB (white) case. Case design and building technology has come a long way from my current prehistoric Coolermaster HAF X. Your video on this similar Corsair case pointed out some features that I hadn't yet realized - nice work, Corsair! And, Jayz, thank you for really taking the time to go through the construction & air flow design of this case. In the past, most PC & case reviewers avoid getting down to the bottom line on airflow design, and avoid it like it had COVID. Good job - new subscriber!
Great stuff, im also building a new pc right now. Some parts are SO expensive right now for various world effecting reasons, especially when it comes to graphics cards, i just spent $4,000 AUD on the graphics card alone. In 2017 when i did my last build, i bought the top of the line Gigabyte waterforce 1080Ti and i think it cost me $1,600 AUD, a bargain in comparison.
I've just bought this case & it's a beauty. It's easy to build in has massive space. It's loaded with 6 fans 3 front 3 top and the thermals are the best I've had. Corsair are back in form
I just built my first PC a few weeks ago using this case. Glad to see I made a wise choice! No complaints about it at all so far. Thanks for the video Jay🤘
I just recently watched one of those video! I'm trying to do a full loop for my phanteks evolv shift 2 with an external 360 rad handing off the back panel and not using a resivor like an AIO, trying to find a rad with the fill port at one end has proven to be difficult.
Just bought this case - even before seeing this video. Was originally going to buy the Be Quiet! Dark Base 700, but they were out of stock at my local store and they suggested the Corsair 5000D Airflow instead. After watching this video, and opening the box and seeing the case, I'm actually pretty happy that I got it for my build. Good channel, very informative.
Hey Jay, I just built my new rig using a 4000D Airflow case. I think anybody buying these Cases needs to be extra careful with their glass panels. Mine went bang and shattered making a big mess when I tried to install it. A slight drop to the table on the corner was all that it took. Looks like there are no spares atm, so i guess im buying a spare case.....
Wow thanks mate, I've had my 4000D for about a month and I've been trying to be super careful with the side panel lol. I just don't get why they didin't just use a glass door on hinges, instead of having to snap it back into place every time you want to tinker with the PC. Ahh well at least they replace it for free if it goes bang, still gives me anxiety though every time I take it off. 😖
Same with the white airflow. Beautiful case and I actually "cable managed" for the first time ever due to how easy they make it. Would highly recommend the 4000d if the 5000d is a little out of a price range.
I've got the 5000X RGB version of this case and have been considering doing a custom loop in it at some point, so I'm really excited to hear about the upcoming watercooling build guide. Also, the non-airflow version (either solid or RGB versions) still have plenty of airflow because of the large angled gaps on the sides of the panels. I've got a 360mm corsair AIO side mounted for a 5900X and a 3080 in my build, and even the non-airflow version keeps those at perfectly acceptable temps (~70C 5900X with PBO and ~74C 3080 stock in Cyberpunk in a 21C room). Obviously could be lower, but could also be much, much worse for a "non-airflow" case.
I really like the case. Can't wait to see what are you going to build in it. Three fans on front as intake and two 360 rads as exhaust seems to be the perfect setup.

I have the previous version and am super happy with it. This case is a total upgrade and I love it. Only improvement they could do is a removable psu compartment for easier cable management.
Is it better? Is it too big I want a small case lol
My prayers have been answered! I bought the 4000D a few weeks ago and have been in a dilemma of going water cooled or sticking to air cooled. I've never done a water cool so can't wait to see the next video.
I just ordered the 4000X RGB version and also ordered the airflow front panel to replace the glass front panel. Can't wait to build my new setup soon!
Btw there have been some newer versions of the Crystal 570X that has the PSU cover closed! Fortunately I got one of those and while it can be a pain in the ass to take all the glass of to clean the case, it still looks super fancy and nice with all the glass.
Has airflow! Provides no testing for airflow, then tells you to wait for water cooling video....FML.
I know you’re prolly 14 years old but you do know that you need airflow for water cooled builds right?
@@ConeJellos 36 actually, and really? Water cooled builds need airflow? What for? Cooling the radiators? I mean obviously my comment wasn't directed at the baity video title.
@@eveonlineaccount462 so by your logic.. if its water cooled, it doesn't need air flow? Amazing
@@itsmyname_real Am British....read the sarcasm.

I am happy that you are doing this case. I just bought mine last night. The same model, it should be here on Friday. So waking up and seeing this made my day. I will have to post some pictures when i am done on your twitter. Thanks guys. Keep up the great work.
i have the 4000D airflow I love it. Im sure this is just as good!
Or better
Could we have a comparison between the 4000D and the 5000D to see if there are any actually airflow improvements ?
Been looking at these cases, weird that this video just came out.. from what I've found it seems 4000d is sufficient and good for the price, the 5000d is essentially the same except is more configurable and would suit a build that needs lots of cooling.
5000D is bigger (can fit 3 fans in the top, and a 360 rad mounted lines down in the front), and has one more USB-A input on the top.
4000D is fairly limited on what rads will fit on the top and still clear ram in AMD systems (not sure on intel)
I've got a 4000D, but might have been swayed to a 5000D if it had existed when I built mine 👍
@@cloudyview Main difference for me is the extra USB on the front panel ... I need that for a Warthog HOTAS... now, if only AMD would fix USB on X570 with PCIe 4 ... @JayzTwo2cents - how about a video on that?
Like 4 main differences if you are fairly new to all this
1: cable management. The 4000D doesn't have brackets for your cables
2: side air ventilation. The 4000D didn't have that
3: extra USB port by the power button. The 4000D only has 2 USB ports, but 1 of them is C-Type and the other is USB-A. The 5000D has 1 USB-C AND 2 USB-A
4: the size. 5000D is slightly bigger meaning it can hold more components or rather bigger components.
@@EduardoMora69 point 1 you made is incorrect i believe. I have the 4000X (which as far as I know is the same as 4000D with glass front panel) and it has cable management brackets. Albeit less than the 5000D but its smaller and still has them
Just built with a 4000D and now I'm jealous! Great content as always Jayz, fantastic community around your channel!
is it the same size?

Was looking at last year's 4000D to replace my Meshify C, but thrilled this thing exists now. Addresses all my concerns from the previous gen's release.
Jay- talking about multiple fans and airflow
Me- my dell with 1 fan in the rear💀
Irony of this video :- you waited for a build on this case, but ended up watching case only 😂
I have this case, it is very easy to build in (my first build), upgrading is open and free and it is very quiet. The only problem is that the fans that come with it are a bit noisy but otherwise very chill
did you mount an AIO, seeing that the frame is cheap and flimsy
@@mannyfresh7065 i did not. 2 140mm fans and one of the 120mm included. the top is not flimsy at all. the front intake is kinda but
im sure it would hold the weight of a aio no problem.
@@govindsharma7738 I heard the front you need to be careful when mountain fans since it’s flimsy? Good to know top is rigid. I’ll prolly tell my buddy to top mount his aio. It looks like a 360mm aio front would be really tight
i just built in this case and its pretty cool but i didn't like that i had to move the hard drive sleds to fit the psu in the case. Also yes the shroud got in the way of the cables which i was disappointed it made the cable management a bit wonky.
Tbh they should have dropped the HDD cage all together.
I ended up with a 6800XT 319 Merc and had to get a new case since the card was to big. Selected the 4000D and was pretty happy about rebuilding my computer inside it. I Replaced all the fans with Arctic P12, 3 in front and 1 in rear. Works great.
Thanks Steve GN, again.
Everybody's happy to see more and more good airflow cases, but only GN put pressure on brands, while others made cool videos about the Fractal Era ITX for example.
yeah theyre great! i was hyped to hear that they might have been working on their own case. but they revealed a couple of days ago that they werent doing that anymore or anytime soon at least which kinda sucks but makes sense. they wanna stay objective and not too close to any particular company. hopefully they do make one one day!

NZXT: *nervous sweating*
I laughed way harder than i should have at "Salt Jae" lmao
IMPORTAINT INFO: The black version of this case has TINTED glass side panel (and it's really dark tint). The white version has a clear glass panel.
TINT. This is not camping.

I'm so glad I returned my (white) Montech X3 Mesh and found one of these for half price in "like new" condition. First ever PC build, no regrets!

Hoping to build my 3080ti build in it. Nervous to put the nzxt z73 in it. It says 360mm should fit...we will see.
I just got this case today for a everything high end system. Seems like a really well built case, should be a fun build!

Try opening a corsair support ticket for rma/replacement. My 5000D panel shattered a week ago and they sent me a replacement side panel for free
@@Ian-bd3bt thanks mate, i did and they are sending me a new panel.
@@andrewjames777 Great news! I just got my replacement yesterday and got it in without cracking. Good luck!
I have the 4000d airflow, I love it great budget case.
Same with the white airflow. Beautiful case and I actually "cable managed" for the first time ever due to how easy they make it. Would highly recommend the 4000d if the 5000d is a little out of a price range.
Can’t wait for the “Corsair Initial D”
It's amazing how many free shoutouts Shroud gets in all these case videos
Corsair: Can I copy your homework?
Lian Li: Ok, but make it look different enough so we don’t get caught.

@@dholocronkeeper dunno about OP but I bought an orange mini atx case made by Aerocool (DS Cube) that was meant to be a good flexible design, but ended up being a limited nightmare with terrible airflow and a rubber surface that turned to nasty ass gunk after a few years.
Got the Corsair iCue 220T RGB edition and never looked back since. I'm surprised my 4790k lasted as long as it has done in that hell scape of trapped dust and heat, already had to replace a gpu fan because of the work stress killing it.
All in all this is a very well built case, and it shows the makers put a lot of thought and effort to it. It's a perfect case for ATX builds.
Not to be a super nerd or anything which I am definitely not being right now is that turbulent flow is actually more likely to dissipate heat than the alternative. As long as the flowrate is the same(which it should be if you're using the same number of fans), turbulent flow is better for heat transfer properties! 3:15

1:34 Hey! I like my boring rectangles. They do the job, and that's all a good case really needs to do well. They're also quiet, sleek, and not too flashy. 3 things which are important for a device that needs to be running almost 24/7 literally (no seriously: literally, not figuratively) about 4 meters from my pillow.
