- In this video, I demonstrate how to make Ricotta, the quick method. I understand this is not the true way to make ricotta because its a bi-product of making mozzarella. This method As a dairy farmers wife, I will listen to guidance of my mother n law who is giving me tips in the background to make sure I give you clear instructions. I have made it once before and it turned out great. I hope you check out the other channels involved in this instant pot collaboration.

@@catea2551 Yes I’m a quilter, I have a few shorts of quilts but no videos yet
What an amazing hack with the fuss of tons of equipment for those of us just starting to venture in to cheese making. ❤ it!
I love watching your videos, LeAnne!!! I liked the guidance and wisdom of the other woman in this video. It's so special to have an older generation available and willing to teach us.
Yes my Mothernlaw is pretty smart! I wish she was more social but I will take what I can get!
Oh another thing to make in my Instant Pot!😍 Thank you and your mother in law! ❤️
Ooh, I didn't know about this collaboration but it is right up my alley! Thank you for showing how to make Ricotta! This reminds me of making Scottish Crowdie cheese but that uses lemon juice or vinegar for the acid. How nice to get to cook with your mother in law. I keep some squares of muslin that has been hand washed with no soap to use instead of cheesecloth. Nice, reusable and there aren't any chemicals in it to worry about. You are the second RUclipsr to mention spaghetti pie since yesterday, it must mean it is time to make it again. Haven't made it in years! Thank you, LeAnne!
Neither did I. Guess I’m going back to the beginning.
Hey Leanne! My husband and I were thinking of you. He drives truck for PPC Lubricants and goes through Needmore all the time. He hasn't farmed for quite some time, and loves driving. What a good idea on how to make ricotta. With the price of things, we may need to learn other short cuts. Keep on posting! God bless 😊
That is awesome!
Wow that is a quick method! There is nothing like fresh made ricotta! It’s my favorite! I could use a few dollops for my lasagna soup!
Sounds great! I bet it would be great!
*꧁ Impresionante 🔥 Gracias 👌 Todo es super 👍 ꧂*
We got Curds.. This was awesome to watch and I definitely want to make some Ricotta now! Thanks dear ❤️
I'm you enjoyed this Barb!
@@MennoniteFarmhouse
I think it's funny how you hung it from your tripod lol.
This sure is simple. Thank you for sharing this.
What a great Job Leeann!! Thank you for this
This looks easy enough that even I could make it. 🤣 Thanks for sharing.
Great sharing how to make home made ricotta cheese.
And I love cheese 😋
Regards from new friend stopping by! ♥ 🙏
Thank you so much 😊 Welcome, I'm so glad you are here!
I didn’t know about this collaboration. I don’t have an insta pot…. But I need to put it on my wish list because I love ricotta cheese.thanks!
You should!
Perfect timing...I've wanted to do this!
Perfect! Yay!
I’ll be saving this. Won’t have to buy ricotta anymore. Thank you. Have a Blessed Day.
This comment made my day!
This is a really cool video I have an instant pot Max and I'm learning how to make things in it so this is right up my alley plus I love cheese.
Awesome! Thank you!
I didn’t even know about this collaboration and I’m so glad i found it. Thanks so LeAnn! This is a great recipe!
Well I guess we will have to do another on the instant pot cooking!
Didn’t know about this collab! Wish I liked ricotta! But I still liked the video.
Who da thunk it. This is fantastic.
Ooooooooooooooooooo yum
Good thing I follow you because I didn't know about this collab. I love my instant pot.
Remember the giveaway is in less than 4 hours
You make it look easy. As. Always great recipe. Thank you
Thanks so much 😊
Oooh I'm excited about this!
I have made the stove top method, but this looks much easier. Thank you and your mother-in-law.
Our pleasure!
Awesome
Always love learning new things. Thank you for the video.
I like learning new things too!
Thanks for sharing with us
Love ricotta cheese with a little sour cream and a little sugar or jam for breakfast
Sounds great!
Awesome!
Thank you for showing us how to do this! I never thought about making ricotta in the IP!!
You are so welcome!
That's easy enough. I use white tea towels in place of cheesecloth, and it seems to work better. Thanks for sharing your recipes LeAnne. 🙂❤️
Awesome video thanks for sharing... I have been wanting to make my own cheese for a long time... and this is the great place to start... Thanks again
Wow that was easy. Next time I need Ricotta that's what I'm going to do. Thanks for sharing
You are so welcome!
This looks great!!
Don't know how i missed this! Thanks for sharing
I am glad you found the video Tracy!!!
This is so cool.
Wow that was really cool. Thanks for sharing Leann.
Thanks for watching
Whoo hoo, calving season is almost here...lots of milk to come. Thanks for the easy recipe and method. My IP is much older than yours, I'll have to figure out the settings...I've never attempted ricotta. I used to make cottage cheese and sell it but that was a couple decades ago.
I would like to learn how to make cottage cheese
Genius! I have always just made this after making other cheeses….. what a fast and easy way to do this if you need some fast!
Thank you! When we have all the milk at our finger tips....
Exactly the recipes I need to learn to do,thank you
You can do it!
This is so cool! Thank you for sharing your wonderful recipes with us! Quick and simple! I agree with you about saving the whey... you can use it in so many different ways and it adds great nutrition to anything you make. Blessings on your day Kiddo!🥰🌻🐛💕
Glad you like them!
Oh I’m gonna do this!
Thanks for the video.
You are welcome!
Mozzarella takes me about 30 minutes. I make Ricotta as well. So simple.
Sounds great!
I'll definitely be making this! I'm always looking for ricotta where I am. I can't always find it.
WOnderful!
Loved listening to your mother-in-law helping in the background. Pretty simple. That means I will mess it up for sure! Haha probably not but we don’t do dairy much due to intolerances. Very cool though.
My mothernlaw is a big help!
I would be interested in recipes that use whey. I have seen ricotta made but never attempted it. I have an instapot. Might try it. Instapot has changed many standard recipes in my kitchen. Will check out other videos in collaboration. Thanks to you and your mother in law.
Great video, LeAnne! How fun and easy this will be! I've never made it myself, but I'm feeling inspired. Of course, it's lovely in pasta dishes, but I also like to mix diced dried apricots and a bit of honey to ricotta. I like to put the ricotta mixture on toast, then top with chopped toasted almonds and a bit of cinnamon. I saw you must have gotten roses for Valentine's Day...beautiful! Yellow are my favorite, but those pink ones were gorgeous as well.
Thanks Lori! Yes I think I’m going to make spaghetti pie for supper. Yes I got roses yesterday! They are sure pretty! I hope the cats can stay out of them long enough for me to enjoy them!
Ohhh I gotta try this! I have milk coming out of my ears, both jerseys are a month fresh so I am getting 8 gallons a day😳 I have so much butter, yogurt, sour cream, cream cheese, kefir and mozzarella but ricotta would be another good addition esp since I have 2 kids that’s love pasta. Thank you for showing this. Have a great day!
You should!
Great ricotta :-)
Thank you 😋
How did I miss this collab????!!!!! There have been so many this year every month. :(
I know! I’m surprised I can keep up!
Thanks for the idea!
You bet!
Can’t wait to try it!
Hope you like it!
I made sour cream the other day using heavy cream I had canned, it was so good, better than store bought! Can't wait to try this 👍
Sounds great!
I don't own a instapot but this makes me want one.
I use my instant pot a few times a week.
Great video. I still don’t have an insta pot. Thanks for sharing.💚
Thank you!
Oh you know I'm going to have to make this! First buy cheesecloth! 😆
Hope you enjoy!
Great video. I have supplies to make cheese, I just haven't tried it yet.
You should!
I love the usage of the idioms. Made me smile. I would be willing to try this once.
We always gave the whey to the hens or pigs. Never used it in the kitchen, sounds good.
Wow, I didn't know this was a collab. I love learning new things to make in my instant pot. Thank you!
Should I do more videos on using my instant pot?
@@MennoniteFarmhouse I hope you do!😊
Hi LeAnn! Brilliant, this ricotta is so easy and fast. Your such an inspiration to me and I really appreciate you. I hope you have a blessed night!
Thanks so much Pam!
❤thanks Leanne for showing us how easy. What all do you use the whey for and how do you store it, and how long will it last?
Thank you LeAnne, now if I get the guts to use that insta pot I bought 3 years ago LOL right up there with the pressure canner LOL. Still praying for Jessica, Nelson and the community. Blessings
Jean can I make a video that would inspire you to use it?? Thank you! Baby Noah lived only 55 days on Earth but brought our church together!
Jean I totally understand! I was so intimidated by all the buttons, lol! Once I jumped in it is so easy and saves me so much time in the kitchen ❤️. Definitely check out the channels in this collab for lots of motivation! You can do it!!!
@@MennoniteFarmhouse I am saving recipes and talking myself into it LOL This one is really interesting to me, cheese is so expensive and sometimes I don't have time to run in but I always have whole milk
This looks great! I don’t have an instant pot but i’ve made this without one many, many years ago. It may be time to give it another go. You had a very able assistant! 👍
Yes this can be made on the stove top. My assistant kept her keep that day!
I make yogurt in mine, now I can see this.
Mmmmmm....
An hour well spent. I think. Actually, I don't know if I have ever had Ricotta. But it looks like it would be good. So, yes, an hour well spent.
Thanks Chuck!
How easy is that and inexpensive. Thanks LeAnne.
Yes this cheese cost me pennies to make.
Yes! I just bought some before it was LeAnne’s day and it was 6.99 for 32oz. I was super excited she shared this!!
@@ErinsTastyHeritage Wow! Hopefully I can save you money in the future!!
@@MennoniteFarmhouse seriously I was so excited and not sure why I didn’t think of it😳. I make all the other cheeses. I guess we always can learn new things!!!
Yummy! I just made yogurt in my instant pot last week. How easy. I now will have to try this out If you have any recipes for sourdough would you care to ? Leanne
I need to get an active sourdough starter going. I some how killed the last one!
@@MennoniteFarmhouse haha me too.
LeAnn!! Wow!! I so loved this Ricotta recipe, I love ricotta. Thank you and your mother in law😍.
I think I need a new instapot, mine doesn't have a yogurt button 😭😔
Oh no Jamie, you have to have a instant pot with the yogurt function. I even use that function to rise bread when it is cold!
Well, I'm getting a new instapot real soon, lol
I never knew you could make your own ricotta or mozzarella
Im glad you can learn something new. One of these days I will show how to make Mozz.
How much Ricotta does that recipe make? 1/2 Cup? 6 oz. ? Thank you. God bless.
About 2 cups worth
This can be made with regular milk from the grocery store? I’m going to give this a try for sure then make lasagna
Yes it can be
I hope those roses were from your hubby!😁😁😁✌️
Yes, the roses were from Howard.
I have made cheese before from raw cow’s milk and it was delicious! But I wonder if you could make it from some form of shelf stable milk, instant, or powdered? 🤔. Does anyone know? Thanks for the video, LeAnne! Your meowing kitty knows that’s some good cheese!❤
I know the Mud Brooker YT channel has made Mozzarella from powdered milk.
@@MennoniteFarmhouse thank you! I’ll check it out!
Do you think this would work with reconstituted powdered milk?
I'm sure it would but I wonder about the taste. I say try it, let me know the results. It wouldn't hurt to try!
What can you do with whey?😊
add it to your garden, feed it to your chickens
If you dont have Citric acid could you use lemon juice or white vinegar...If you dont have an Instant pot will it work on top of the stove??
Yes, I have heard of using lemon juice or vinegar but my Mothernlaw claims for best results use the citric acid. She didn’t like the taste with the lemon juice. You can use the stove top to warm up your milk but I suggest putting the milk in a double boiler or a bowl on top a pot with water in it and keep stirring it.
