    I am enjoying your cheese playlist. I found your channel through The pantry challenge and have enjoyed your posts. I'm hoping that someday I'll have the energy and the gumption to try and make cheese as I am a cheese lover. Again, thank you for your dedication to doing this particular category.

    You make it look so easy! I’m sure I would have the biggest curd mess possible. You are so lucky to have so many cheeses aging along the way!

    Smoked Gouda is my favorite! I make homemade yogurt. I want to learn how to make cheese. How can you do it without buying the press? I want to make sure I can do it first.
    What are some recipes you make with the whey?
    May Jesus continue to bless you and your family

    • @TheHappyHomestead
      @TheHappyHomestead  Год назад +1

      I would start with cheeses that don’t need to be pressed to see if you enjoy Cheesemaking first. Like ricotta or mozzarella.

    I use fresh goats milk. My curds are not setting up like they should. Should I use more culture or am I doing something else wrong? Love your site!

    • @TheHappyHomestead
      @TheHappyHomestead  Месяц назад

      The curds actually set up from the rennet. So you could try to add more (should have been 1/2 tsp for 2 gallons). The culture does it's thing for the cheese during the aging process.

    Do you keep the stove burning during the initial waiting periods to maintain heat or does it hold heat on its own?

    Maybe in a video you can cut in to and taste one of your cheeses on camera
    I like your cheeses because you only use 2 gallons to make cheese,most videos use six gallons 😞

      When I started milking our cows I learned I didn’t need to use calcium chloride with raw milk. It turns out great! But… Of course you have to use it with pasteurized milk. Love your videos!
